1, 2, 4, 5, 7. Not bad for an album I was literally half-invested in. Which frankly is probably more than Prince was invested in it, lol.
Nothing here is bad at all but you can hear the boredom, or the kernels of ideas that he just couldn't be bothered to flesh out because he felt the effort would be wasted on a label who wouldn't promote it. If he'd released this at any other point in his career I think he would have fleshed it out more, dug more deeply into some of the concepts he put out there. But at this specific moment he did not have that in him.

I’m pissed that he neutered this song. The video version (which I’m assuming is the original mix) is SO much better. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 Y'all are wrong for Dig U Better DeadI actually love that song but it just doesn’t belong here. He should have left it on “Emancipation” instead of throwing it on here as an afterthought. “Into the Light” was also on “Emancipation” before being pulled but considering that it segues/flows into “I Will” I think that was a good decision. |

Sir Benji I totally forgot about that video but I remember reading years ago he had been planning another home video project similar to Undertaker and that's why he shot the Zannalee video (along with Empty Room and 18 & Over) but he scrapped it for whatever reason. He thought this version was too "rough" for C&D.

I actually had “Right the Wrong” ranked as my top song at one point. Of all the songs on the album this is the one that to me at least is quintessential Prince and is a jam. And, sadly, that would not have helped as it missed out on the top-4 by THREE points, not two! #4 has the SECOND-highest SD with another trio of bottom-3s vs. a pair of #1s. |

#3 has the 4th-lowest SD. It earned a top-3 finish by 9 points but finishes 11 points outside the top-2; only 1 bottom-3 and one #1 for this one.
