They're still around? LOL!
Anyway, this is the lead single from their next release due this March. Apparently it is getting an early surge.
Can this once dominating band achieve another potential hit, or will they fizzle out in a way like Courtney Love or Limp Bizkit's latest?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I saw it once as the last video on MTV's All Things Rock a week or so ago. It features Tim Armstrong playing guitar, shamelessly ripping off "The Guns of Brixton" by the Clash. (Maybe so much so that they willingly give a songwriting credit to them?) I doubt Tim would hose his favorite band like that, but the bridge, note-for-note, is lifted directly from "TGOB." I didn't notice so much on the rest of the song.

I also remembered seeing the video on that last week. This song is great though, and even is finding its way on my personal chart. I like it better than their other two songs that alternative always plays.

This is one of my favorite Alt. songs out right now. HFS has been on this one for a long time. They're big supporters of "Insane In The Brain" and "Rock Superstar" as well. This seems to be a pretty big hit for the stations that are playing it, but it's going to have a lot of trouble getting added to the rest of the panel.
I don't really see the comparison to Courtney Love or Limp Bizkit. Both of those artists were incredibly overexposed in their heyday, and the ever-changing music scene has passed them by and turned them into parodies of themselves. Contrast that with Cypress Hill, who have always been kind of on the fringe, and ahead of their time musically. "What's Your Number" or any of Cypress Hill's other hits fit right in next to an Eminem or Linkin Park song, "Hey Ya", or "99 Problems". You can't say that about Limp Bizkit or Courtney Love.
"What's Your Number" seems to have peaked at CHR/Rhythmic, though it still has a slight bullet at Alternative.

Mm, I wouldn't clear Cypress Hill out of the self-parody woods for certain. They became poster boys for marijuana and revel in that, as their album quality is really off-mark now and will never again live up to their first two classic albums. They did a hard rock song with Pearl Jam back in '93 for some soundtrack. (Either Judgment Night or Demolition Man, I get those two confused.) But then when merging rap & rock became popular, they got back on board, trying to claim they've always been doing it. It's embarrassing to hear the line in "(Rock) Superstar" when, I think, Everlast mentions how there are "a lot of chameleons" out there, ready to ride whatever's popular.
Listening to Cypress Hill talking about being gangsta now is like hearing Ice Cube (and Westside Connection) claim it. It's so unbelievable now that it's embarrassing.
I love their first two albums though, and always enjoy their singles.
