Completely incongruent with our prior two reveals, this tune from Lauren Watkins received almost a uniform split between top 10 support and bottom 10 tanks, with almost virtually no middle ground in between. "Settling Things" certainly had its fans as nuggie99 loses our first #1 rank in awhile, and is joined by seven others sharing in top 10 losses. However, six posters also lose something from their bottom 10. Its #13 finish here was a far cry from the widespread support Ms. Watkins received with "The Table", which won the RD set for Nov/Dec of 2023.

"Stuck Behind a Tractor" is another in a long line of delicious neo-traditional bops from Scotty McCreery, and was chosen to represent the Rise & Fall era upon album release. The uptempo steel-laden track picked up six top 10s, and a top 20 placement from all but two posters. That said, taylor may be handing in her Tractor™️ keys seeing as she finally loses her #30 rank with this reveal, together with kluen effectively dashing McCreery's top 10 hopes.

The final song to miss top 10 here may come as a surprise to some as it is none other than Queen Reba who falls short. Red previously came up shy by a mere 2-point margin of winning the October 2023 RD with "Seven Minutes in Heaven," but this time she fails to secure a top 10 finish with "I Can't," which lands shy of #10 by a 5-point margin. This dark and brooding number with a Southern Gothic vibe was evidently not everyone's cup of tea as she suffered from a handful of bottom 10 ranks, offsetting the #1 from castleoblivion26 and the additional seven top 10s she picked up along the way.

14. Decent song but definitely sounds like an album track rather than a radio single.
13. It's been a while to have a song that plays on things that settle. Still doesn't come close with the one used in Merry Go Round though.
12. What a weird way to write about country life IMO. Fall of Summer is right there as a better representation of the album which I don't think we will rank until 2026 lol
11. Interesting parallel that both her and Dolly performed a lead single with choirs in ACM Awards, but luckily for Reba her voice is still powerful enough to sell this song about independence from an ex.
A bit surprised George Strait's still in, even though I do like this silly drinking song a bit.

Going to try and do better about commenting here... I'm surprised by some of the lower rankings for "Settling Things," especially from castleoblivion26 and bboat11. This should've easily been a top 10 contender. "Stuck Behind a Tractor" is just too cute not to like, though I’m not entirely surprised it didn’t click with everyone. It took me a couple of listens to warm up to it, but eventually, I found myself coming back to it a few more times. As for "I Can’t," when I saw it exit the rankdown, I realized I had all but forgotten how it went. It clearly didn’t leave a lasting impression on me, and it probably only got close to the top 10 because of her name recognition. Not a bad song by any means, but isn't something I'm going to find myself revisiting.

Luke Combs' country-rocker from the hit movie Twisters just topped the country charts this week, though it settles for a #10 finish in the rankdown. "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma" served up a double-dose of #1s from tim and Kris Kringle, though it also landed in dead last on wavey.'s list.

Really wanted to like Ain't No Love In Oklahoma more but it reminds me of God's Country too much with rougher production.

Mae Estes got scooped up by Big Machine this year after some buzz-worthy indie releases. Thus far she's released a string of one-offs through the year, including "What I Shoulda Done," a feisty little barn-burner. Her neo-trad style went over well here to the tune of eight top 10s, roughly half the participant pool. She did accumulate four sub-top 20 ranks, though none of them were bottom 5s, at least. LBTrocks loses the highest rank here with a #2.

What I Shoulda Done is a quite fun honky tonk song. She having strong vocals helps too.

Jenna Paulette, who previously finished at #8 with "Darlin'" in the March set, repeats at #8 this month with "Hang Your Hat," as she continues to emerge as a new Pulse fave. She netted a trio of #21 ranks, which were the lowest rankings for her song (not shabby at all). She finished with an impressive tally of ten top 10s, over half the participant pool, though nuggie99 was her only top 5.

One of the splashy pre-release cuts from Megan Moroney's sophomore set, "Indifferent" moved the needle in a big way... for better or worse. It wound up being a much more polarizing song from the singer who previously won decisive victories in both the January ("No Caller ID") and March ("28th of June") sets, but a #7 finish is the best she could settle for with this edgier pop-rock-leaning tune, thanks to a trio of low ranks in the bottom 10. She wasn't without her fans though, as we see a pair of #1 losses here courtesy of SHOOTER and zaclord 🌈, plus a gamut of top 10s from over half the participant pool.

Similarly to Megan in the prior reveal, Sara Evans was riding high coming off a #2 finish for "Pride" in March and a win in the April set with "21 Days," but "Sorry Now" proved to be a bit tougher of a sell as she landed at #6, narrowly missing a top 5 finish by a mere 1-point margin. This raucous and sassy number had a pocket of dissent to the tune of three bottom 10s, but it had plenty of up-top support as she managed to rack up three #1 ranks, the most of any song revealed thus far!

Sara's voice sounds good on "Sorry Now", but the in your face production is big no for me, especially the chorus. Her June entry is much better.

Post Malone made quite the splash this year when he pivoted to country music for his latest project. It was led by the Morgan Wallen-assisted "I Had Some Help," a high octane bop which delivered as one of the songs of the summer not only at country music but as a crossover smash. 🌺CountryLineDancer loses their #1 this time, and nine more of us lose another top 10. Only three posters put this in their bottom 10.

George Strait edged out Post Malone by a 3-point margin to be the last male song standing this month with "MIA Down in MIA," the island-y jam that marked Strait's first new taste of music in several years. I was the only poster who put it outside the top 20, as I have a relationship with beachy-sounding country music that's more hate than love typically. That said, the majority had this one at least in their top half, with nine top 10s that included George Strait Junkie's #1.
