We see our first multi-#1 loss with MacKenzie Porter's "These Days"! Tbh, I am a bit shocked by how well this song did... Looking at how badly Sykamore, Chrissy Metz, etc. got tanked with poppy songs, and yet this one consistently seemed to get ranks right in the middle... I am not as sold on MacKenzie's voice as I immediately was with Sykamore and Lainey Wilson, so I definitely would have preferred to see this one leave sooner to make room for one or both of them to get higher.
"These Days" is fine, but it is a pretty generic pop country song imo. I would not skip it, but I hope MacKenzie has much better songs up her sleeves. I really need to check out some of her Canadian releases!

Jana Kramer, she is stunning (so bonus points for her â„). I had decided to listen to all these one off songs she had been releasing when she put them on an album, but then realized it might never happen. So I listened and was of course, very pleasantly surprised. She might never top Circles, but Untouchable is still a nice song.
Thomas Rhett, well, I adore him (he also gets bonus points for being so hot lol â„) and I am actually surprised I put him so high, as I don't think Be a Light is all that amazing. I like it enough, but maybe it didn't deserve a top 10 placing.
And McKenzie, lol, isn't she on that Netflix show? Travelers or something... I didn't like her much in that Chris Lane song on his first album, but while this song isn't amazing, I was pretty captivated by it the whole time it ran its course. I might try to keep up with her if she releases good music like this.

I'm actually pretty surprised at "Champagne Night" making it into the top 11 - I thought it would get some tanks (I mean it's not the greatest Lady A song so...) and enough middle-ish ranks to pull it down but I guess not!
"Dolly 1969" seems to have its share of tankers so maybe that one?

LMAO what the f**k has this rankdown been. WWDD deserved Top 5 at least what the hell are y'all DOING I need "I Found Another You" to leave now please. Easily one of the worst on this list. It has no business whatsoever being outside of the bottom 5 let alone the Top 10.

"Record High" was a fantastic discovery!! I listened to some more of her music and really liked her! "No I In Beer" sucks lol. I actually wrote Blake Shelton in my submission PM to bboat11 by accident but it was very fitting cuz it was the kind of junk song he would record lmao. "Be A Light" is phoned-in, cliche, cheesy, not to mention boring. Hard pass! "WWDD" is such a JAM! I adore Lainey Wilson, her voice and music are fantastic. I HATE the snap clap in "These Days" but otherwise it's a great song so that's why it's in my top 15, but missed my top 10 lol. "Years" by John Anderson is a great song, but his catalog is so strong that I wouldn't put it among his beat songs. However, this was a top 10 contender for me. But ultimately, I placed it right outside the top 10.

Untouchable - Not a fan of overproduced chorus. Years - Would have chosen Tuesday I'll Be Gone instead. Dan Auerbach's vintage production in Years is predictably not some other's taste, but I think it suits the dramatics of the song. The production of TIBG is more traditional sounding. No I In Beer - This is him on autopilot after flop singles. Be A Light - Is not a fan of vague and potentially opportunistic (in a bad way) lyrics and unnecessary collaborations (also quite opportunistic to me). This being higher than Years is a crime. WWDD - I think it is at least interesting thematically. These Days - Quite pop for country pop but making catchy pop songs is the gift of Canadian artists in general.
Pleasantly surprised Gabrielle is still in.

I predict Ingrid or Ashley will be #1 with Sara just behind. I love Gabrielle and think it will be in the 6-8 range.
Fun list so far!

It might shock some people, but Pam Tillis started out as a very strong top 5 contender. Unfortunately her song just kept losing steam as submissions rolled in. I still feel like it might have resurrected itself at least into the top 10 if a couple more people had submitted. This song is quirky for sure. I did not expect it to do well at all, honestly! The verses are really clunky and awkward until you get used to them. That chorus, however, is quite possibly the catchiest thing in this entire rankdown!!!! "I wanna go where she's going. I wanna see what Dolly's seen. Try on that coat of many colors, Slap that little bitch Jolene."Like, that is SUCH a mood! You get it, Pam!!!

I was not expecting âRecord Highâ to leave so soon and thought it even stood a chance to at least make it into the 15 if not the top 10. This was easily my favorite discovery of the rankdown and I really need to check out some of her other music. I think I mightâve overranked âUntouchableâ just a bit so on that note it left at a good spot. Iâm glad bboat11 pointed out that this song just isnât very memorable because that was the same exact thought I had when trying to come up with something to say about it. Itâs great to see âYearsâ do as well as it did here as I thought given that its from an older artist it wouldnât even make the top 20. I was a bit hesitant going into this album as Iâve been a longtime fan of John Anderson, but I ended up really enjoying it and it got better with each listen. Iâm not really sure what I wouldâve chose myself and I think âYearsâ was a great choice. âNo I in Beerâ is another song that I overranked and add it to another list of novelty songs that Brad has released throughout his career. Thereâs really only three songs that heâs released in the last ten years that I can say I even like or would revisit, but honestly I havenât outright loved anything heâs released since 2011âs âOld Alabamaâ. Iâm surprised âWWWDâ didnât make the top 10 and that as another great discovery of the rankdown.

I was actually just going to post my thoughts on the top 11 next only to find the next song had been revealed! I'm surprised "Dolly 1969" outlasted "WWDD" because I think it's the weaker of the two Dolly Parton tribute songs. I can only assume that Pam's name helped carry this one a bit further.

Parker McCollum was never a super strong top 10 contender here, but he was able to hold on just well enough to stay in place while people like Pam and Lainey fell below. "Like A Cowboy" is a pretty good song, but I don't have a whole lot to say about it. To me it is kinda forgettable.

Thrilled that "Like a Cowboy" make it into the top ten as that's been a favorite of mine since I first heard it. He's actually one of the first artists scheduled to put on a couple concerts here in Austin next month, although they are staggering them with four shows planned out over two days. I might end up checking him out as I've never seen him live before...and yes I'll be checking both him and his music out :kii:

"Gabrielle" shits all over Brett's usual output! This song was a pleasant surprise for me :) So far I'm digging the vibe of this! It proved pretty polarizing, probably because it's Brett Eldredge. But other than a top 15 blip in the middle, he was a pretty solid top 10 contender.

I LOVED the chorus of âDolly 1969â so thatâs why it made my top 10 but the rest of the song is kind of a mess lol.
This is the second song Iâve heard from that Parker guy and while this one is much better, I havenât really gotten into him yet..
âGabrielleâ is decent, especially for Brett lol. I donât mind it but wouldnât seek it out.

"More Than My Hometown" is pretty decent for modern male country. But tbh I would have preferred to see it miss the top 10 in favor of more interesting songs. I love the premise of the song, but it is already wearing on me faster than average.
