"I can stand the test of time And as far as I can see There are no walls that we can't climb Standin' between you and me
But I'll go on with my life We can even say goodbye for now if If that's what we have to do But here in my heart Even when my arms are empty darlin' I'm still holdin' on to you
And there's a place you'll always be No matter where you are You're here with me When the world is turning upside down Together we can stand our ground"#20 ~ "Still Holding On" by Martina McBride & Clint BlackPoints: 214 Average: 23.78 Standard Dev: 15.57Writers: Matraca Berg, Clint Black, Marty Stuart taylor ~ 5 bboat11 ~ 9 castleoblivion26 ~ 10 tim ~ 10 someguy ~ 27 austin ~ 28 BackwoodsBarbie ~ 29 .indulgecountry ~ 47 Kanenrá:ke ~ 49 ![](https://i.imgur.com/yFEeLmh.png) Clint Black and Martina McBride Live:

How am I just now realizing the fact that Marty Stuart co-wrote this song?!? I've always loved "Still Holding On" and it gives me such 1997 nostalgia.

I'm gonna try and post the final 15 reveals throughout the day tomorrow and finish up tomorrow night, this way I can move on to the 80s Pam Tillis album!
Would love to see some predictions on how these remaining songs will fall, and which 5 will miss the Top 10!

Matraca is such a talented writer. It's hard to guess what will miss the top 10, since they are all stellar songs. My guesses would be:
Nobody Drinks Alone You're Still Here Fool, I'm A Woman Wrong Side Of Memphis We Danced Anyway
They are all great songs though!

I was expecting "Still Holding On" to leave anytime when I saw that it had made the top 20. It very much seems to be a forgotten hit for both Martina and Clint (Hell, I honestly even completely forget about it in the context of the rest of the Evolution album all the time), but that is not for any lack of quality! Their voices blend absolutely magically together, and Martina's vocal is especially slay-worthy when she and Clint start doing 3-part harmony with each other in the bridge/final chorus, with Martina doing 2/3 of the parts!! This song has always kinda had a middling reception on Pulse, so I am impressed to see it make the top 20 here. It's never done that well in a large rankdown before! I can't help but wonder if a future Clint Black rankdown might be its chance to finish in the top 10 of a large rankdown ![:giggle:](//storage.proboards.com/1258812/images/KYziZwTotWGtjvzyvGqr.gif) "I'm That Kind Of Girl" is catchy, but the competition is getting so strong now that I am glad to see it go. "You Can Feel Bad" and "On Your Way Home", on the other hand, need to stick around and tough it out as long as they can!!! "You And Tequila" has always been just about as meh and vanilla as songs come. I cannot even begin to understand the crazy following that it has. Kenny's version, Deana's version, Matraca's version, they're all just SO boring. "Working Girl", on the other hand, is an incredible song!!!! I am literally 0% shocked that Terri was able to beat Loretta here by such a huge margin, but tbh it would have been nice to see this song make a run at the top 15. It is one of the lesser known songs in this top 20, so I guess I should be happy it did as well as it did. Terri sings the hell out of this and really puts her stamp on it. At least we can look forward to it making (hopefully) multiple appearances again in the near future, as I expect it to finish pretty well in the Pain To Kill album rankdown, and then go on to slay in the Terri Clark album tracks rankdown!

Songs to miss the top 10, in no particular order: You're Still Here - Faith Hill Nobody Drinks Alone - Keith Urban Hey Cinderella - Suzy Bogguss If I Fall you're Going Down With Me - Dixie Chicks Wrong Side Of Memphis - Trisha Yearwood I think Faith and Keith are safe predictions based on their obscurity as songs, while Suzy will miss out due to her being the most obscure artist that is left. From there it's anyone's guess! I'm rooting for almost everything that's left to hit the top 10 though, so this is going to be very painful and interesting! Regarding the winner, I am 100% expecting "Strawberry Wine" to take this (I mean, it's one of THOSE songs... Plus LBTrocks didn't participate and put it in last place.) But it would be MUCH more interesting to see it miss out so that something like "Wild Angels" or "You Can Feel Bad" can sneak in a win!! Either way, I see no way that this thing finishes with us getting a winner that has never won a rankdown before. Between Trisha, Martina, Deana, Suzy, etc. this top 10 has the potential to basically be BotB/RotB all over again!! I mean, there is potential for something like "The Last One To Know" to be a bit of a dark horse because it has not been in enough rank downs for us to have a sense for how it will behave. But based on how strong of competitors songs like "Wild Angels", "XXXs and OOOs", and "Strawberry Wine" have been historically, the dark horses are going to have their work cut out for them!

This is a good place for The Chicks to leave. Everything from their second album slays, but this is one that I revisit the least for whatever reason. It's great for nostalgia, but is not one of my all-time faves from them.

"Fool, I'm a Woman" is such a fun song. I love the sassiness of it and Sara's delivery is spot-on, and the production is fantastic. That guitar riff is so memorable and the BGV add a lot of personality.

I woke up this morning wondering what songs everyone would expect to see miss the top 10, up next someone loses their #1 but is it one that has been predicted to miss? Oop, I see a hint embedded here ;) "You're Still Here" is a BEAUTIFUL song!!! That English Horn driving the arrangement is so freaking cool. That is such a rare instrument in general, let alone in the mainstream music industry! I bet Faith's team had to search pretty hard to even find someone to play it. Meanwhile, this is one of the best vocals of Faith's career. It is soooooo emotional and raw. I cannot believe this was released to radio though, while stuff like "If This Is The End", "This Is Me", etc. was waiting on the album too. I mean, nothing was going to get a ton of support on country radio, but even giving this one a spiffy new country arrangement didn't make it sound like a radio hit. "Hey Cinderella" is a great song that has continued to grow on me in every rankdown it has been in. However, I figured it was about to miss the top 10. Suzy is battling with the big guns by even making it as long as she did here, so I think fans of this song can be happy! Yassss at you giving Martina her feature recognition for "Fool I'm A Woman"! 😂 I don't care what anyone says, Sara absolutely nails this vocal. It is such a fun, catchy song, and she channels a great energy into it. I would have liked to see it make the top 10. Perched to see what else misses the top 10... Better not disappoint me!!! ;)

I do wish "If This Is the End" or "This Is Me" had been released, those two are so good! I'm happy "Hey Cinderella" made it this far but it spent most of the submission period in the top 10 so I'm sad that it didn't stay in I always forget to give Martina credit normally because no one does, though if this song was released today it would totally be giving her credit, at least that is what I'm telling myself lol As for the last song to miss the top 10, like "Hey Cinderella" it is a song that flirted with the top 10 but in the end the door was locked and it just misses!

Beautiful, epic, amazing song from Keith Urban!!!! The lyrics are truly goosebump-worthy, as is the explosive nature of the chorus. I cannot even begin to express how much I miss this phase of Keith's career, lol. Now LOL at the top 10 being spread between 5 artists!! Look at Martina, Deana, Patty, and Trisha all get multiple songs!! And of course Queen Reba infiltrating, as she always should ![:smokingdiva:](http://i.imgur.com/t6wcd.jpg)
