MAINSTREAM TOP 40 OVERVIEW:
After no top 5 changes last week, this week every top 5 song changes position with Shaboozey soaring 5-1 to score his first #1 on the Pop chart. He actually swaps positions with the previous #1 as Post Malone falls 1-5.
Billie Eilish replaces herself in the top 10 as "Birds of a Feather" becomes her 6th top 10 hit.
Eminem appears in the top 10 for the first time in a decade with "Houdini." "The Monster" topped the chart in December 2013. It's his 10th top 10 as a lead.
Dasha re-enters the top 20 with "Austin."
Debuting this week:
We have as many debuts this week as we had in the last 2 weeks combined. Lisa from Blackpink, not to be confused with the 80s Dance artist Lisa, debuts at #39 with Rockstar, her 2nd top 40 hit. "Money" peaked at #35 in January 2022.
Tinashe scores her 4th top 40 as a lead with "Nasty" and her first in 3 years. "Lean on Me" peaked at #30 in July 2021.
Recurrents/Exits:
Djo went recurrent, or dropped out naturally, we'll say he went recurrent. Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa crashing save Ariana Grande. Let's see if the luck continues.

MAINSTREAM TOP 40 OVERVIEW:
A big game of musical chairs at the top as Sabrina Carpenter not only lands her 3rd #1 in a row with "Please, Please, Please" but also lands her 3rd #1 of 2024. Unless I'm missing something, the last time 3 #1s in a calendar year happened weas Taylor Swift in 2015 (where she actually had 4 with Blank Space, Style, Bad Blood & Wildest Dreams).
In her 25th week on the chart, Madison Beer lands her first top 10 with "Make You Mine." Despite lots of movement near the top this week the rest of the top 20 was rather uneventful.
Debuting this week:
Sabrina Carpenter is aiming for a 4th #1 this year as "Taste" lands at #34, her 10th top 40 hit.'
Social media star turned singer Alex Warren scores his first top 40 with "Carry You Home," a song written for his now wife.
Machine Gun Kelly now shortened with "MGK" teams up with Jelly Roll on "Lonely Road." The song samples John Denver's signature hit "Take Me Home Country Roads" which pre-dated the Mainstream Pop chart (even R&R), but reached #2 on the Hot 100 in August 1971. This is MGK's 4th top 40 hit and his first in 3 years. My Ex's Best Friend" peaked at #3 in May 2021. It's Jelly Roll's 5th top 40 hit.
Recurrents/Exits:
Dua Lipa goes recurrent next week and hopefully SZA as well.

Taylor also had three #1's just last year (Anti-Hero/Karma/Cruel Summer). AH first hit #1 on Billboard in 2022 but it did return for a week in January of 2023.

How has "Lose Control" not gone recurrent yet?

How has "Lose Control" not gone recurrent yet? It increased in spins compared to last week according to Mediabase. At least Saturn looks to drop out on the next chart. I wish Billboard and Mediabase's recurrent rules were aligned.
