Sorry, but "If I Didn't Love You" didn't debut at #1, it is #2 right behind Walker Hayes's "Fancy Like" which is #1 on Hot Country Songs for Billboard. Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood's "If I Didn't Love You" bounds onto Billboard's airplay-, sales- and streaming-based Hot Country Songs chart (dated Aug. 7) at No. 2, marking a historic entrance.

Wow I’m dumb as hell. Well, really it’s Billboard’s fault for that false headline, and the article within is about last week’s chart. She and Jason still made history with the #2 though—it’s the highest debut for a male/female duet on the HCS chart

And in all honesty, if this is peaking around CMA time - a first live performance plus max airplay and high streaming/sales will probably get this to #1 anyway. But I have no clue what the average chart lifetime for singles is anymore, haven’t really followed that closely since the BA era…

Which is why she’s so high up on the chart and only behind Walker Hayes, who on the all-genre Hot 100 is doing FANTASTICALLY (like, it’s almost unprecedented stats he’s setting) with “Fancy Like” I haven’t seen the Hot 100 chart lately, but currently I’d wager a bet that Walker is the highest-placed country song there, followed right on his heels by JA/CU.

The week IIDLY debuted at #15 on the hot 100, Fancy Like was at #14. That's how close they were to edging him out for the HCS #1 during release week. :'(

“If I Didn’t Love You” looks like it is going to be super promising as far as being a hit goes. I wonder if we are going to just ride that out til the end of 2021 or if we are getting something to coincide with Vegas. I guess I’ll just keep my eyes open! Lol 👀

As much as I’d love new CU solo music asap I kinda just hope they ride this one through the end of the year and drop something new the beginning of Q1. This song is about to absolutely blow up the higher it goes on the charts and I imagine it’ll have pretty strong recurrent play. I might be in the minority but when the lead drops I want all eyes from the public to be on that. Not split between IIDLY and the lead. If IIDLY peaks in October/ November that’ll be perfect timing going into the holidays to take advantage of My Gift again for the holiday season. Then something brand new at the start of the year.

Agree with this. Similar to how they have Remind Me time to breathe & grow legs on its own, I want that for IIDLY.

Per RIAA: "Southbound" is certified platinum.

Per RIAA: "Southbound" is certified platinum. Great! I’m happy to see this album get any sort of certification. That being said, what a shame that Southbound ended up being the biggest “hit” from Cry Pretty while there was so many songs on that album that deserved the light of day.

That hologram looks good!! I’m watching Pre-Season Football and am going to be sad if she doesn’t end up doing the SNF theme song this year.

It appears she may be an anti masker as she recently liked this tweet on Twitter:
If true I am disappointed.

I mean...would anyone really be surprised? I would find it hard to believe she married someone so diametrically opposed to her own ideologies.

Carrie's allowed to support in whatever she wants cause that's in her personal life not her music life. She just human being like the rest of us and there's nothing wrong with that.
How old is she? she's not a child anymore. people should stop crying over something she has the right to believe in.

Alright, it was nice while it lasted. As a healthcare provider on the COVID frontlines since the beginning of this pandemic, I take this as a slap on the face to all the work I've done. She needs to sit down and think long and hard where she needs to stand on a lot of these issues that I'm going to assume she shares with her husband. Until then, miss Underwood has lost me as a fan.

Medical facts don't care about feelings and are not up for opinion. This is why evidence based medical practice and peer reviewed journal exist, and that's why the American medical body doesn't have Matt Walsh, Carrie Underwood or Mike Fischer.

As another healthcare provider who has a been a longtime Carrie fan and lurker here I’m also in shock. She said her and Mike don’t align on a lot of issues but it’s seeming more and more like they actually just might 😭

Who said she isn't "allowed" to? Being disappointed in someone doesn't mean you are saying they can't or aren't allowed to do that thing.

Alright I actually can't anymore, I think I'm gonna have to stop supporting her as someone who works in Healthcare and has a fiance who's a RN, this is devastating and dangerous.

So, yeah, I don’t think she follows fully in-step with Mike. Kind of like how Kelly was married to and had children with someone like Brandon. Obviously she didn’t co-sign all of his beliefs.

Disappointing if that video is indicative of her feelings on masks, especially with all the news of the Delta variant being harmful to kids. I hope she clarifies her views in her own words.
Kind of impressive she made it 16 years into her career without a controversy like this.
