Is #12 supposed to have all six of you? no, itās just supposed to have those four, since I believe that makes it so everyone had their scores counted for the same amount of rounds

coming in to the top 2 spots we have...The Steel Porcupines (@humanshazam & House Lannister )Overall Score: 84.1 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.6(Population Boom)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is a beloved classic, and for good reason! Lauryn Hill delivers a very strong vocal performance, the production is strong, and itās very well written! great track! I donāt really like the outro, but itās not really a huge detractor (8.8)Samo: This is one of the best songs you could've chosen for this theme; Lauryn is an incredibly talented singer and rapper, and she proves it here with some of the best lyrics of any #1 hit I can remember, on top of a fantastic beat. (9.8) Zeebz: (9.0)BB: I love everything about this, not one thing wrong here. I think I prefer Ex-Factor at the moment though (9.8)Born: I have to listen to this album in full. Ms. Lauryn Hill is brilliant. She delivers a strong (and obviously timeless) message through catchy & uplifting production and Iām all about it. The flow is great, the piano hook is irresistible but honestly, that sub-bass alone deserves every award in the world. (8.7)Overall Score: 46.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by shazam)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I have literally to say about this song that hasnāt already been said before. itās just a great track (9.6)Samo: Nostalgia definitely affected my score for this a little, but even ignoring that itās a fantastic song, where the frustration and fear in the lyrics contrasts the anthemic production excellently. (9.8) Red: I mean...it's "Mr. Brightside". I would have rather someone went with one of the lesser known tracks on Hot Fuss, because there are some genuinely great songs on that album, perhaps even better than their biggest hit. I'm also not going to be the person that denies that "Mr. Brightside" is a great song. It's practically an institution, at this point, as much of a part of every day life as milk and bread. (8.0)eidde: This remains a pop-rock classic, itās so catchy and upbeat despite the frustration of the bitter lyrics. This song is pretty much timeless now, itās so good. (10) Overall Score: 37.4Team Big Bird (maine & @jadenlefranks )Overall Score: 82 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #8 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.8Detour Results:(Population Boom)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: a favorite of mine from Gaga. I love the energy, and the sax solo is pretty awesome. I think some donāt love this as much anymore, but I still find it to be quite the great tune! (9.3)Samo: This is one of my favourite songs of all time, a perfect pop song, Gagaās best song, etc. The sax solo is incredible, and the song completely earns its long runtime with some of the best and catchiest melodies Iāve heard in any pop song. (10) Zeebz: (10)BB: This is an all-time favorite and quite possibly my favorite from Gaga. This is an anthem. She sounds great and the sax solo is amazing. Just a magical song (10)Born: Yeah, this is golden Gaga. The song is probably her most organic hit from her first three albums, one that should be played in every graduation and coming of age film if Iām being honest. As she has proven multiple times, she can totally pull off the ā80s pop sound but itās the uber-nostalgic sax solo that makes this stand out from the rest of her big hits. (8.8)Overall Score: 48.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by Runner)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is a cool song! I really like the production, and the vocals are also very strong. the main riff especially is infectious as hell. I donāt have a ton to say about it, itās just a cool little track! (8.6)Samo: My hopes were high for this, having only heard āTalkā before this, so I was a little disappointed with this. That being said, itās still a good song, and I really like the production in the intro, especially the synth that kicks in halfway through. (8.1) Red: If anything, I think that "What You Know" would be bigger now than it was even at the time of its release. I think that this song was ahead of its time. Even if it wasn't ahead of its time, that bass is simply outrageous and would make the song even if the rest of the parts were not very good. I've always felt that this is a solid song, but I think that it's going to be a song that continues to get better as time passes. It certainly has gotten better on this listen. (8.0)eidde: I was honestly not expecting this song to be submitted at all. I had also heard it for the first time a couple weeks ago, itās really nice. It has such a catchy synth melody and it has a really good hook as well. Great song! (8.4)Overall Score: 33.1Head to Head Results:The Steel Porcupines:Judge's Thoughts:Nick: one of Rihannaās better hits for my money. the beat is pretty sweet, and Jay-Z adds a lot to the song. pretty good song! (8)Samo: This is another song in this set I wish I liked more than I do; itās a good song, but I donāt think the production has aged that well, and Jay-Zās had much better verses. (8.5)fearlessarrow: One of Rihannaās signatures - not my favorite from the whole Good Girl Gone Bad album (that would be āDisturbiaā) but I still love this song. I love the drums with the emphasized hi-hats that come in at the beginning of each measure and the bassline in this song. The added synths in the second and last chorus is an aspect I dig too. I got into the song because of the catchiness at first but I think these days I appreciate the production over Rihannaās singing for this song. (8.8)Overall Score: 25.3Team Big Bird:Judge's Thoughts:Nick: wait I just had an āoh thatās what that song isā moment with this. Iād heard it a ton growing up, but had never been able to put a title to the song. so thanks for helping my dilemma there haha. itās a pretty great track to boot - catchy chorus and a great instrumental. (8.9)Samo: This is the only totally new discovery for me in this set, and one Iāll definitely be coming back to. The production is wonderful, with some excellent guitar work that provides an anthemic feel to the whole song. I love the guitar solo especially. (8.9) fearlessarrow: This song (and āNever Going Back Againā) that Lindsey Buckingham wrote for Rumours is really interesting because of Stevie Nicks. A song written about their relationship falling apart from his perspective that gets sung by a band they are both members of? That alone is so intriguing. The drums in the verses are very interesting too - I donāt think that pattern is something I hear a lot in the music Iāve heard but maybe Iām not paying enough attention? (8.2)Overall Score: 26Result: Team Big Bird takes home the win over The Steel Porcupines, 26-25.3. so congrats to Runner & Jaden for their first win, you two will get a +2.5 bonus next leg! shazam and Brian, you two will face the next team in another head to head

coming up next we have...Fire & Desire (Fire & ry4n)Overall Score: 81.5 | Detour Rank: #6 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Bonus From Last Leg: +2.2Detour Results:(Holiday Tune)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: itās like the quintessential holiday track sure, but I kinda feel like sending it here is a huge cop out since itās such an obvious pick. the songās good I guess, but I wish you went with something more creative (6.9)Samo: As expected, Mariah sounds fantastic here, and the production has aged very well for a Christmas song released over 25 years ago. Thereās a reason this is one the most successful holiday songs of all time, and itās my favourite song in this theme. (9.5) Zeebz: (10)BB: One of my favorite Christmas songs. Itās so fun and a classic (8.2)Born: I always try to convince myself that I donāt like this song as much as I do but letās face itā¦ holiday music doesnāt get better than this. This song has been a hit ever since I can remember myself. One cannot decorate a Christmas tree without this song playing in the background & Mariahās heavenly vocals shining brighter than any tree-topping star in the world. (9.5)Overall Score: 44.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by ry4n)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: jam! this is probably my 3rd favorite Gaga single. I love the beat, and the melody is just infectious. itās one of the few songs from that overall era in the early 2010s that really doesnāt feel dated at all! (9.0)Samo: Paparazzi isnāt one of my favourites from Gaga, but itās a great song nonetheless. The best way I can describe the production in the verses is āwonkyā, but it still sounds great, and Gaga really sells the lyrics. (9.2) Red: When I saw Lady Gaga, without looking at the song chosen, I would have expected the pick to be "Just Dance", as I feel like that song has always been more universally praised. I'm glad that "Paparazzi" was chosen instead, though, because it was the song that convinced me to give Lady Gaga more of a chance. I liked "Just Dance", and I didn't really get into "Poker Face" until later, but I fell for "Paparazzi" immediately. I wouldn't say it's my favorite Gaga song these days, but the hooks are still immaculate. If only the bridge was even a *little* better... (8.0)eidde: This is probably my favorite of all of Lady Gagaās hits. It has a really nice chorus melody and I feel like its production has aged quite better than some of her other songs from around that time. If you were going to go with The Fame, this was the best choice imo. (9.0)Overall Score: 35.2Head to Head Results:The Steel Porcupines:Hamed: Under my umbrella-ella-ella eh eh eh, still a hook that gets stuck in your head for sure even after all these years. GGGB era Rihanna is the most memorable nostalgic stuff to this day and I love Umbrella. (9.2)Geometrical: Hereās the thing: this was originally going to be much lower than this, as I used to severely despise this song. It doesnāt bother me as much anymore: the song is well-produced, and the instrumentation has some subtly interesting aspects to it. But the āella ella ay ayā part still grates me, and the bridge is flat-out bad and feels forced. Jay-Z is absolutely unnecessary as well. I personally never got what made this such a classic. (5.1)Juan Carlos: Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh. This is so catchy and it still doesn't get old to be honest. The bridge and the outro are really good. (8.5)Overall Score: 22.8Fire & Desire:Hamed: The entirety of the Breakaway era is still so nostalgic and this is the centerpiece of it all being the biggest hit of the album. I think Kelly nails it vocally and melodically, it's a fun pop rock classic that still holds up over a decade later. (8.8)Geometrical: Nothing bad about this, as this became a classic in terms of pop-rock in-your-face breakup songs. Itās good at doing what itās trying to do, but itās nothing more than that. Simple, but effective. (7.0)Juan Carlos: This is definitely one of the signature songs by Kelly Clarkson. The rock elements throughout the pop track is great, as well as the bridge. (8.7)Overall Score: 24.5Result: Fire & Desire beat The Steel Porcupines, 24.5-22.8. congrats to ry4n and Fire on a 2nd place finish, you two will get a +2 bonus next leg. shazam and Brian, you two will face yet another challenger soon
