Nick: I didn’t know this one was a cover, probably because Marvin makes the song so totally his. I love the tense instrumental, and the vocals are really strong as well. the lyrics also deserve note, they’re really well written! (9.6)

Samo: I never realised this was a cover, since it’s such a classic in its own right. It’s a pretty amazing song, but one I respect a lot more than I like. Marvin’s performance is fantastic, and the production has aged really well for a song that’s over 50 years old. (8.6)

Nick: I reviewed this like a week ago for Last Stand haha. it’s grown on me a bit since then, I really like the groovy instrumental and the lyrics about music. Stevie Wonder also of course sounds great! (9.1)

Samo: Oh, that’s what this song is called! I’ve heard this a few times before this round, but it only really clicked with me this time - the saxophone work is fantastic, and while music about music can sometimes come off as cringeworthy, the lyrics here are pretty well-written. (8.9)

Kim: Love this. Stevie is such a legend. Instantly makes you want to poorly sing along to it and tap your feet. (10)

Beno: How can anyone listen to this song without smiling, it just puts me in such a good mood whenever I hear it. This was one of the first Stevie songs I heard, and it remains one of his best imo, just a classic tune all around. My one criticism is that the outro drags slightly too long, but that’s a minor nitpick at best. (8.4)

Nick: a modern classic. Mark Ronson’s production here is pretty perfect, and the horns in particular are a nice touch. I also just love Amy Winehouse’s voice. overall I find this to be a super enjoyable song! (9.6)

Samo: The version of the song in this round isn’t quite my favourite, but Amy’s performance here is great nonetheless, and this is probably the best production I’ve heard from Mark Ronson. (9)

austin: Great vibe, sultry. probably not a version of this song i will seek out but i wouldnt change it if it comes on. i like it - strong voice. (7.98)

Nick: I love this song. I think the vocal snippet in the verses is used super well, and all the rappers on here deliver strong performances. the chorus is also catchy af haha. I also just really dig the feel of the beat. this is just a great song! (9.7)

Samo: This is actually my first time hearing this, and while it’s a big step down from I’m Coming Out, it’s still a very good song on its own with a strong chorus from Kelly Price and a great third verse. (8.5)

Kim: It's impossible not to love any song with an "I'm Coming Out" sample. (10)

Beno: I absolutely adore sample/guitar driven beats in this vein, and this is obviously no exception to that rule. This song is awesome, and the chorus brings it together so well. It’d maybe be better if Biggie did the first verse instead of Mase, but the groove is so f**king good it’s hard to care. (8.2)
