austin's #1 bows out with SHeDAISY here, but I am sure he is happy with this placement! He told me he just hoped it made the top 30, so this undoubtedly did even better than expected :) It was actually knocking on the door of the top 20 for most of the last half of the rankdown!

We lose our 3rd-most polarizing song with "GIRL". This song picked up three top 5s, including dgarcia3377's #1, but two bottom 5s helped cancel them out pretty well... Imo this song shits aaaaaaaaalllll over "The Bones". It should have won the album rankdown. At least we get the pleasure of seeing it last longer in this rd than "The Bones" did in BotB

"Jealous Bone" is a damn jam!!!! I LOVE the groove of this one, and the sassy attitude with which Patty presents it to us Should have won her album rankdown, and should have done much better here... Alas, it was at least one of the most consistent performers here, as it pretty much always stayed between the 21-25 range for the entire rankdown.

Patty manages to beat herself by 1 point here, as "Here I Am" also bows out right before the top 20. Y'all may not have noticed, but this is actually our 4th #1 loss in a row!!! This time it comes at the expense of castleoblivion26. This song may not be the most exciting song melodically, but there is just something about the way that Patty delivers it that makes this such an epic and powerful ballad I cannot get enough of this song, for her performance alone!!

I went on a soapbox about this song when I revealed it during the album rankdown, but I absolutely adore it. To this day, it's a pleasure to revisit and great to sing along to (well, I can't sing but I can lip it :kii: ) I would've liked to see it at least make the Top 20 (and I'm glad to see it did at one point!) but I can't complain all that much at its finish here.

I see SHeDAISY might be my country pop girl group to go by in these rankdowns. Those stretches of word syllables lol.

One of Faith Hill's most beloved and popular songs has actually never won a rankdown before! "Breathe" finished at #2 in her singles rankdown, which allowed it to participate in our first RotB rankdown. Based on that fact alone, it should have been the predictable winner of its album rankdown. However, like I mentioned during BotB, the Breathe album had a super weird thing happen. All of the big hits canceled each other out, allowing "If My Heart Had Wings" to be the big winner "Breathe" gets to be honored here due to its #2 placement, but I hope this song gets its time in the winner's circle one of these days!
Bonus: "Breathe" - Faith Hill
Finished at #2 in the: Faith Hill: Breathe album rankdown (Host: bboat11)

Jealous Bone was never a favorite, but Here I Am was way too low here.
I am very happy with SHeDAISY's placement for a random album track in a list of huge singles :).
My life has been....not great this week, but hoping to get the album RD re-started ASAP. Sorry for the delay there friends.

super disappointed to see "Here I Am" miss the Top 20. Patty's delivery and just everything about that song is incredible. This is the country I miss. Today's country doesn't hold a candle to songs like this

Damn, disappointed "Jealous Bone" couldn't make the top 20 at least. One of my favorite songs of all-time. I would rewind the cassette tape and listen to this over and over and over again as a kid, lol. Adore it as much now as I did back then!

You're right, it has!! I was out of town Thursday through Saturday. Today I got caught up on other things. But tomorrow it will be time to do some more serious damage to this rankdown!!! Maybe even finish it, if enough people follow along? At least down to the top 10 for sure! But it would sure be nice to have it done...

For our next bonus, we have not a song, but Queen Dolly herself!!! Dolly Parton was a worthy competitor in the Icons of Country Music rankdown, where she held on long enough to beat fellow icons like George Strait, as well as Pulse faves Martina McBride and Sara Evans, to secure a spot at #2!!!! Queen Reba alone proved to be just too tough to beat. Even though a huge argument could have been made for Dolly to win, I do not think she would mind finishing at #2 among such iconic company
Bonus: Dolly Parton

"Someone Else's Dream" is one of the best examples of Faith's early '90s sound imo I love everything about this song! The "she was daddy's little girl, mama's little angel" line is SO memorable and iconic in ways that can only be found in the best of '90s country. I am thrilled this made the top 20, considering how Faith usually does in these things...but I wish it had been able to make the top 15 since that's where it was for most of the submissions!

I don't know why y'all continue to be so allergic to Pam having success in these things, but "When You Walk In The Room" is one of her biggest jams and absolutely deserved to be in the top 10 here...

"Wrong Side Of Memphis" is one of Trisha's most unique '90s bops! After the winner of this album ("Walkaway Joe") managed to win the Best of the Best, this #18 placement for WSOM might seem like a bit of a letdown. This one proved to be a bit more polarizing though, as songs with a minor key tend to be. Also, it is LBTrocks' #2, as songs in a minor key tend to be

The fan favorite album track from King George's newest album bows out just shy of the top 15! Honestly, I'm quite impressed considering how relatively obscure this song is compared to everything else in the top 20, and considering how George's songs tend to do in these things! "Some Nights" has a catchy and memorable melody with kind of a mysterious vibe that leaves you hanging on for more. No doubt would have made a better attempted followup to "Every Little Honky Tonk Bar" than whatever "The Weight Of The Badge" was trying to do... George Strait Junkie loses his #1 here. But at least his #1 rank helped it to win in a tie with "Wrong Side Of Memphis" which had a high rank of #2!
