You first have to inform us what the Social 50 Chart is so we can have an idea to know what to vote on.

You first have to inform us what the Social 50 Chart is so we can have an idea to know what to vote on. The Billboard Social 50 is a popularity chart which ranks the most active musical artists on the world's leading social networking services. Its data, published by Billboard magazine and compiled by Next Big Sound, is based collectively on each artist's weekly additions of friends, fans and followers, along with artist website views and streaming media. Bill Werde, the former editorial director of Billboard, called the Social 50 "yet another step" in the evolution of the magazine and an "important response to our changing times". The chart initially only retrieved its data from YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and iLike to create its ranking, but in November 2012 was expanded to include SoundCloud and Instagram. Data from Vine and Tumblr were added to the chart in June 2015.
The Billboard Social 50 was launched on December 11, 2010. The first artist to reach number one on the chart was Barbadian singer Rihanna. Since debuting, she has spent a total of 21 weeks at the top of the chart. BTS holds the record for the most weeks at number one, with 183. Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber follows with 163 weeks at number one.
On October 2016, the South Korean boy band BTS landed the number one spot on the Social 50 chart, becoming the second K-Pop act, after Psy, to reach first place on the chart. They currently also hold the record for the most consecutive weeks at number one, with 153. Following her death in December 2012, American singer Jenni Rivera became the first and only artist to top the chart posthumously. Since its launch, 20 artists have reached the top spot on the Billboard Social 50. Three of these artists—Rivera, Skrillex and Justin Timberlake—have only reached the spot for a single week.

its not like its really that important or influential of a chart lmao. its a global chart that only counts social media activity. Y'all can be mad at the amount of k-pop on the chart but like...have you been on Twitter, like at all? K-Pop fucking dominates the landscape, to want to dismiss a chart because it doesn't present what you want it to is just silly.

I mean it’s not important but I still like the chart. I’d support keeping it.

That's the one that BTS tops every week?
Yeah, get rid of it.

It's a global chart. K-Pop is huge globally so of course most of what you see on that chart is K-Pop artists. You probably wouldn't complain about a US Social 50 chart or a UK Social 50 chart, if you don't want to see K-Pop on it. I can't find a good reason to scrap the chart. All I can think of is creating country specific Social 50 charts. It's accurate. If you don't like it then don't look at it! Don't petition for its demise if you're only doing so because "K-Pop takes up the entire chart" or "I don't know either of these artists" (then listen to them. Also, of course you won't know most of the artists, it's a global chart! Not a specific chart for your own country! Those artists are popular globally after all. They may not just so happen to be popular in your own country. If they were, they'd be higher up on that chart, if your country's music industry is huge.)
Scrap the Social 50 chart? A big no.

Who cares who/whose stanbase tweets more, really? I mean, the chart is useless and doesn't tell us anything really important, but well, what's the harm?

I don't think that it should be dumped, but I'm not sure it really has much value. Being talked about does not always mean having their music purchased, played, or listened to, tweeting and other social media posts do not always mean general popularity (such social media communication often is either negative or comes from a limited fan/stan base), and Billboard tracks streaming play as well as purchases and radio play elsewhere.
