It had 10 hours, because Spotify charts are based on GMT (UTC), not EDT (EST) Wait what? Spotify charts are based on midnight-midnight GMT, but most artistz release their albums/singles at midnight EST. Does that mean there is a mismatch on release days between an artist's actual first day Spotify streams and the reported first day streams?
Just in case there is confussion. EST is UTC-5, EDT (Eastern Daylight Time - mid March - November) is UTC-4.
So technically there are 20 hours for the "first day streams" now, and 19 hours in the winter.
Everyone releases their songs/albums in East Coast time because then the Billboard week starts. The Billboard's HQ is in New York.

Is this how the charts work too? Because Spotify for Artists is actually a different set of stats, at least it was in winter 2018 when I had access to an indie label's Spotify account. I noticed working then that the numbers in the Spotify for Artists client differed slightly from the charts AND the desktop client. And for that matter, I still haven't figured out why the charts never quite match the desktop client stats.

I remember seeing somewhere that Spotify charts (or at least the global one) is based on Stockholm time, where Spotify HQ is located. (I feel like it wouldn't make sense for them to sync US charts to that time, though, and we would have noticed because mid-day releases would have close to no impact on the chart.)

Also if you combine the daily streams on their Daily chart Friday-Thursday they are always less than the streams on the weekly chart. ALWAYS
As for the time zone thing, i awlays assumed they use the same time, why would they use different times (it's illogical). So if what you say is true, then i am wrong (haven't worked in the music industry)

So every chart (except the Global) is based on local time zones. Makes sense.

Is the new Kanye/Travis song really still #5 on Apple Music? Kinda surprising...their new music usually reaches #1 let alone a mid week release with no competition same day
Megan still being #6 is (pleasantly) surprising too.

It's really not the kind of song you'd expect to stream super well at all considering how abrasive, frantic, and loud it is. Imo it's more of a shock that it has been stable since yesterday rather than falling immediately.

I’m surprised Ego Death seems to be a non starter on AM, being at 191. Honestly pretty great song and would be excellent to see FKA Twigs on the hot 100. I wonder if this is more telling about Kanye’s future

Kanye isn't the streaming force he used to be. Which is quite natural after 15-17 years in the biz though.

I know Save Your Tears is the fan-favorite but I honestly hope 'Scared to Live' or 'After Hours' is the next single pushed. Never got the hype for SYT if I'm being honest.

The Taylor Hicks coronation song from American Idol didn't make it I think.
Stuck with U will be a close call as well.
