I don’t hear anything R&B in Blinding Lights. It is complete race boxing. If a white man sung it then it’d undeniably would be Pop. well, we know one similar song - "Take On Me" by A-ha, and I don't think the song is R&B in Billboard's books.

I wonder something, why doesn’t Taylor Swift’s “The Man” have an explicit tag next to it on Spotify even though it has more cuss words than “Greece” and “Codeine Dreaming” (Both have explicit tags)? There isn't any set standard for what constitutes an explicit tag for music nor is there any one group or company that enforces it. It's entirely up to the label whether or not to mark something as explicit.

The funny thing about that - this also holds up the "big reveal" of the Artist of The Decade top 6 I mean, don't we already know who is #1-#6? They just haven't made the announcement official yet. Taylor Swift, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Bruno Mars & Rihanna...? (not in that order)

There isn't any set standard for what constitutes an explicit tag for music nor is there any one group or company that enforces it. It's entirely up to the label whether or not to mark something as explicit. Then basically every record label can remove the explicit tag now that it isn’t important at all. There’s a reason it exists, and not putting an explicit tag on a song that contains swear words can be classified as false advertising.

Taylor Swift before Speak Now is basically like Kelsea Ballerini is now. That's severely underestimating Taylor Swift pre-2010 considering Love Story and You Belong with Me were massive hits.

Taylor Swift before Speak Now is basically like Kelsea Ballerini is now. not really tho Taylor had 2 huge hits in 2008/09 (Love Story and You Belong With Me) and several top 20 hits, plus Fearless, AOTY winner (and the biggest album in the US in 2009).

•Happy for JuiceWRLD. Just like Pop Smoke, I wish he was here to see his success
•Marshmallo done got two more Top 10's, and Halsey got her another Top 10 as well.
•I feel Tap In is gonna fly up eventually.
•Good to see Cudi and Em get that debut. Cudi got a lil comeback.
•Jack + crew is still holding!

The Weeknd has been a fully-fledged pop artist since 2014. Ah, yes, Faith and After Hours are my favourite pop songs of the year, and King of The Fall is probably my fave pop piece of the last decade After Hours is incredible, just...incredible

I don’t hear anything R&B in Blinding Lights. The Weeknd has been a fully-fledged pop artist since 2014.
No. Even since 2014, much of his music still has elements of R&B, and he has charted dozens of songs on the R&B/Rhythmic charts, two of which, Earned It and The Hills, even went #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. He is at least a crossover pop/R&B artist.
It’s interesting that at the start of the decade, only Rihanna was an established artist. Taylor Swift before Speak Now is basically like Kelsea Ballerini is now. lmao When did Kelsea Ballerini have an era as big as Fearless or even Taylor's debut? Yeah, many people forget that Taylor was quite big and had even established herself as a mild crossover star since the very beginning of her career, as two of the multiple country hits from her debut, Teardrops On My Guitar and Our Song, were top 20 pop radio hits. The album was also multi-platinum even before Fearless was released.

Taylor's debut year-end: Chart (2007) Position US Billboard 200 19
Chart (2008) Position US Billboard 200 5
Let's compare to Rihanna the way that person wants to: Music of the Sun n/a A Girl Like Me US Billboard 200 49 Good Girl Gone Bad US Billboard 200 57; US Billboard 200 21; US Billboard 200 70 Rated R US Billboard 200 21
Zero times in the year-end T20 vs. twice with just the debut, not even the megasmash AOTY. Poor Taylor indeed.

Ah, yes, Faith and After Hours are my favourite pop songs of the year, and King of The Fall is probably my fave pop piece of the last decade The Weeknd hasn't made more than a handful of R&B-inspired songs since 2014 when Love Me Harder happened. After that, he doubled down with a massive pop album in 2015 and another in 2016 and has never looked back. Yes, he may still make some songs with R&B-influenced production, but all his albums since 2015 have been big pop albums.

Well, "TROLLZ" has left and presumably joins "I Believe" as the #1 that never saw the light of day which is the Billboard YE Hot 100 (correct me if I wrong if there was other instances of those)

24 39 Future ft. Drake - Life Is Good 21 40 Roddy Ricch - The Box Interesting. Only if this could have happened in January/Feb. And even blinding lights is crushing the box like anything now, 4 vs 40.

Hit #1 on September 20, 1974 and only lasted 12 weeks on the chart. It did place on Cash Box's 1974 year-end at #56, though
