Anyway, I'll save my next photo for the Post Your Pics thread. Probably after I get evicted from this game.

Week 3
![](https://i.imgur.com/s4EOdbD.png) Big Brother: Houseguests, please gather in the living room for the Power of Veto competition results!
Firstly, let's reveal who our 4 judges are. We invited Pulse Survivor and Pulse Big Brother alumni MoD , ry4n , Sambalada & Mylo13 💜 to be our judges here!
Firstly, a note from Sambalada about how he'll be scoring: "Ok so, thinking of a mixtape theme and choosing songs that would make a great cohesion on it is hard already so I'm not gonna judge these by their song quality at all. I'm gonna give all of them a 10 for song quality as a way to respect their hardwork."
Without further ado, let's get into the results.
EP #1: rom (Leonard)
{EP Info} EP #1: This Is A Certifiable Post-Punk Classic Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: In terms of theme, it was a genre, and one I am a fan of, so it was hard to go wrong with that on here, still good job. The mix was also pretty cohesive, although I have to say that the transition from R.E.M. to Sleater Kinney was kind of rough. In terms of quality though, it was mostly reeeally good, but I have never liked She's Lost Control at all, so that sadly takes points off it. Theme: 10 Cohesion: 9 Quality: 8.6 Total: 27.6
ry4n: Theme: Yeah, this theme seems pretty lazy compared to the others. Picking 5 unconnected songs from one broad genre isn't that creative. Especially when it isn't specific to any time period (there's songs ranging from 1977 to 2005). Furthermore, there's no cover art and the description is pretty basic. I admittedly don't know much about post-punk, to the extent that I couldn't tell you if these were genuine “classics” or not, but the songs sound like what I'd imagine “post punk” to sound like. That said, I appreciate you introducing me to five songs that I would never hear in my life otherwise. 5/10 Cohesion: Yeah it fits together. 9/10 Quality: “Mannequin” and “Jumpers” were pretty cool. It's the side of alt I could get into. But “The Great Curve” and its monotonous riff went on forever. “Laughing” was kinda forgettable. And the dude's voice on “She's Lost Control” was kinda creepy. The music isn't exactly to my style. 6/10 Total: 20
Sambalada: Theme: I'm not the most knowledgeable person about music and it's cool to see someone so passionate about a certain style. I like how this person just wants to showcase the songs from a music genre they like. Simple and personal. I like it. (8.0) Cohesion: Cohesion is really solid. I like the change of pace from the first section to the second. Sounds natural. (9.0) Total: 27
Mylo: Theme: Not really much of a 'theme' here lol. They're related by genre and that's bout it, but I guess it's something? (4/10) Cohesion: These all work together, I wouldn't say they compliment each other as much as they all sound in a similar vein. (7/10) Quality: I quite liked these songs! They were all nice and they all had their strong points. Good choices! (8/10) Total: 19
Overall Score: 93.6
rom (Leonard) finishes with a score of 93.6, putting him in first for now. Next up is Madonna (Codex )
{EP Info} Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: On theme and cohesion, I gotta say this is really well done. The theme is really creative and every song fits well together, so kudos to that. But quality wise, I gotta say, I was not the biggest fan of it. Nothing was terrible per se, but I found most songs to be mediocre if I'm being honest Theme: 10 Cohesion: 10 Quality: 4.5 Total: 24.5
ry4n: Theme: That cover art is a good way to get my attention! He's exactly the kinda cute guy that would break my heart ugh! The description is well explained, the song choices are well thought out, and the story is very relatable. And all five songs capture the mood they're going for, even if Melanie Martinez makes me cringe a little (I'll dock points in Part 3 for that). This theme seems to be inspired by Queen of the Clouds, but it's executed well. 10/10 Cohesion: Yeah the string of pop bops flow together. 10/10 Quality: Wow, “Mateo” is great, how did I sleep on it until now?! “Bloom”, and Troye's discography in general, is a whole mood. This one is so heartfelt and cute. Selecting Melanie Martinez in 2020 is a choice. Her cutesy baby voice is just problematic. “Again” is indeed a chaotic song that swerves into unexpected places. Even trippy at times. “New Rules” is a pretty obvious pick, but the song's message caps off the story well. The “one/two/three” bit is cool and the song is catchy af. Unsurprisingly these songs are right up my alley. 8/10 Total: 28/30
Sambalada: Theme: Clearly a personal theme. I really like how every song tells a piece of this person's story with this loverboy. Cute storyline. (9.0) Cohesion: Nailed it with the "moody midtempo pop" description they gave to this playlist. (8.5) Total: 27.5
Mylo: Theme: Love the story, and I can see it! I like the progression and love the personal touch, nice work! (9/10) Cohesion: Thematically these work together well but I don't think the sound is particularly connected. (8/10) Quality: 3/5 of these are a hit, Melanie & Noah's songs were a miss for me. I've loved songs from both artists but these weren't their best. (7/10) Total: 24
Overall Score: 104
Madonna (Codex ) takes the lead, knocking Leonard (rom ) out of the challenge. Next up we have Elton (mcsteamy )
{EP Info} Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: Pretty interesting theme, and most songs were spot on (although I'm not so sure how Gimme More is a part of the stages of heartbreak but whatever lol), and it's also really cohesive. My main issue though is in the quality section lol, I was not a fan of these songs, the last 2 songs are nice but sincerely I thought the rest was pretty bad Theme: 9 Cohesion: 10 Quality: 4 Total: 23
ry4n: Theme: I get what you're going for in the cover art, but it just seems like a mess to me, and I'm not a fan of the font. Why should I care that this unrelated girl is heartbroken? And you're the only other player to include two songs from the same artist lol. That said, the heartbreak journey told across five electro/pop songs is executed well. 7/10 Cohesion: Yeah it flows seamlessly. “Do It Again” is a good closer. 10/10 Quality: Right, so going electro/pop was always going to score well with me. That said, I do not like Yellow Claw's noisy hard style. “Gimme More” is a bop, but the song has always felt... incomplete? To me. “Dancing On My Own” is amazing. I've always digged the “heartbreak on the dancefloor” theme. The pulsating synth is euphoric too. The Tove Lo song didn't impress me. “Do It Again.” is pretty euphoric too. The stutter bit on the title phrase is neat. I need to explore more of Royksopp's stuff, I've liked everything I've heard from them. 7/10 Total: 24/30
Sambalada: Theme: Love the description. And it's very true. I mean Beyoncé and Kylie Jenner both got cheated on, do we even have a chance? T_T (8.0) Cohesion: Now this is lacking. I got the progression of "first meeting - wild love - break up - repeat", but the way it jumped from the ultra sultry Gimme More to heartbreaking Dancing On My Own feels like reading a novel that got 36 pages in the middle ripped out from it, leaving a big hole to fill in. I know there's not much you can do with just five songs but maybe if you can't find enough songs for the story, you shouldn't went with the theme to begin with. (6.5) Total: 24.5
Mylo: Theme: I kinda love this theme's randomness lol. It gave me a chuckle but I find some of these choices a bit of a choice lol. (7/10) Cohesion: Despite the lack of cohesion in the theme, I think the songs actually work together! I'm impressed, these complement each other nicely~ (9/10) Quality: High-quality songs here, loved every one! Two discoveries and a re-discovery were all solid, good work. (9/10) Total: 25
Overall Score: 96.5
Elton (mcsteamy ) falls just a bit short of Madonna (Codex ), leaving Madonna in the lead. Next up we have Marilyn (Crimsonio )
{EP Info} Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: I like this theme! The songs really fit it. They also fit in with each other (although from The Climb to Marry The Night was quite a change lol) so that section also gets a good score. Now, about the quality, I have mixed feelings, because there are some high highs but also songs I wasn't feeling very much, so I'll just give it a score somewhere in the middle Theme: 10 Cohesion: 9.2 Quality: 5.2 Total: 24.4
ry4n: Theme: So, you name your playlist after an iconic song, yet you exclude said song? JK, I don't think it'd fit anyway. So, I dig any theme that holds a personal meaning. And the songs perfectly express the story you were aiming for. Side note, I've always interpreted “Breakaway” as Kelly leaving behind the American Idol phase of her career (her debut album never felt “genuine” to me). 10/10 Cohesion: It flows fine. The song order is on point. Though I don't think “Marry The Night” fits stylistically. 8/10 Quality: “Breakaway” expresses its mood so well. TBH, I've never really liked Carrie's music that much, aside from a few songs. Your explanation helped me appreciate this one more. I f**king hate “The Climb”. I just find the melody/pacing tedious af. I can see how you find it empowering, though. “Marry The Night” has always been a mess (because of the intro and outro). But whatever, I can get lost in the growling synth and the bridge. “Valerie” is an effortless bop! 7/10 Total: 25/30
Sambalada: Theme: Can't get more personal than this. It's such a cute tale to tell. Moving into a new city is like opening a new chapter in your story. This also get to me because I was supposed to move to a far away city for college if it weren't for covid-19 this year T_T (9.5) Cohesion: The first three tracks go so smoothly one after the other but, uh, suddenly Gaga came in and ruin it. I mean it's a good song but there's no way I can say this mixtape is cohesive when it came after The Climb lol. I also don't think Valerie is used well on this playlist. Quite ironic that the two of the best songs on this EP are actually the ones ruining it. (5.5) Total: 25
Mylo: Theme: Brilliant theme and well explained. I'm a fan, this was a smart idea~ (9.5/10) Cohesion: The songs work decently well together! Wish there was more audible connection but the thematical connection is there and the 'tone' carries through! (8/10) Quality: Including 'The Climb' seems almost like cheating LOL. But love this selection, Valeria, Breakaway, Marry The Night! Awesome choices, and Don't Forget To Remember Me was a sweet discovery. (9.5/10) Total: 27
Overall Score: 101.4
Marilyn (Crimsonio ) also falls just short of Madonna (Codex ), meaning Madonna remains in first. Next up is Magic (matteeeb )
{EP Info} Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: Although it is not as creative as others, the theme on here is still well represented by every pick, and although this is not the most cohesive playlist, I think it is my favorite quality speaking, I really like every song on here! Theme: 9 Cohesion: 7.5 Quality: 9 Total: 25.5
ry4n: Theme: Bonus points for highlighting Canada!! I do think including two songs by the same artist is a misstep though. It's a missed opportunity. But since you said these songs hold a personal meaning, I can't say anything else negative about the selection lol. And your explained your reasoning for each selection well. 8/10 Cohesion: Not super cohesive, but the transitions aren't jarring. The right songs were chosen to open and close. 8/10 Quality: “You Oughta Know” might be the most angsty song to hit 90's pop radio. “Neighborhood #1” is moody and it goes on a journey. Unrelated, but their spelling is very un-Canadian. I mostly remember “1234” for the video. The song is uplifting but her soft spoken shtick is not exactly my style. “Sprawl II” is the better Arcade Fire track here. It has a powerful vibe. “Closer” is jam packed with hooks, what's not to like? Perfect song to sing a long to. 8/10 Total: 24/30
Sambalada: Theme: Patriotic lol. But I'm loving the thoughts put behind this EP. Overall, it's not an unconventional theme or anything but it's sweet in its simplicity. (9.5) Cohesion: Because the theme is basically Canadian acts, I had expected this to have a messy cohesion but it's surprisingly well-done. Though having two arcade fire tracks might help with that lol. I like it. (8.0) Total: 27.5
Mylo: Theme: I love me some Canada but I'm not really feeling this theme. I'm also not quite sure why you included two Arcade Fire songs if you were trying to represent Canadian artists, was there no other candidates haha? I think more expansion was necessary to make this idea work, sorry! (3/10) Cohesion: Decently cohesive playlist here. The descriptions for each choice are neat and the songs do work as a package. (7/10) Quality: Sweet picks! I liked every one, although I didn't really LOVE any of them like some of the other submissions have. Most of these were a 8/10, which is your score haha! (8/10) Total: 18
Overall Score: 95
Magic (matteeeb ) also does not beat Madonna (Codex )'s score, meaning that Madonna remains on top. The last player in the comp is Kate (BB🌕 )
{EP Info} Judge's Thoughts:
MoD: I mean, this was a solid set of songs, but like, what even is the theme? I don't really see any relation between any song here lol, and there was barely any cohesion Theme: 0 Cohesion: 3 Quality: 8.5 Total: 11.5
ry4n: Theme: Is there meant to be a description that got cut off or something? Otherwise, I have no clue what's supposed to connect these songs? And I ain't got time to figure it out. 1/10 Cohesion: Not really? Stylistically, these songs are all over the place. “Love Shack” in particular sticks out like a sore thumb. 3/10 Quality: “Losing My Religion” is a classic. I've always digged the enigmatic nature of it. “Holland 1945” is a little too “noisy” for my liking but it's certainly expressing something. “Love Shack” is bright and campy but fun, although the album version is so long. “Amor Fati” is moody. “We Will Commit Wolf Murder” is certainly a wild experience, but it's a little too “out there” for me. 6/10 Total: 10/30
Sambalada: Theme: We're not really given anything to explain what the theme is about lol. But it's okay because these songs have a way to connect with Athens in some way, and I personally love it. (8.5) Cohesion: Solid cohesion. (8.5) Total: 27
Mylo: Theme: I think we uh, lack a key component of this comp lol. Dude, you just needed a sentence or two to explain what you were going for lol. (2/10) Cohesion: Lack of explanation aside, these all are actually pretty cool! I'm not sure if they're 'cohesive' as such but they're kinda abstractly related. (7/10) Quality: Great picks, person who I definitely don't know is Zedd due to that Milk Hotel song lol. Love Shack alone brought you some points, and the rest are all strong choices. (8.5/10) Total: 17.5
Overall Score: 66
Congratulations Madonna (Codex ), you have won the Golden Power of Veto! Please make the decision on how you will use it ASAP.
Magic (matteeeb ), please start to think about who you will name as a replacement nominee in the event that Madonna uses the veto.

Week 4
"Bumper Stumpers"
![](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BODEyMTUyOWEtNmUxMS00NThmLTg5NWUtMWU5YTYzMTQwOGI2XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTYwNDQwMzA@._V1_.jpg)
Big Brother: Houseguests, for this week's Head of Household competition, we'll be playing our own version of Canadian game show "Bumper Stumpers."
The main idea of the show is solving what the "stumpers" (license plates) are saying. When you're ready, the challenge will be sent to you and you will have a maximum of 10 minutes to solve 10 stumpers.
The houseguest who finishes the challenge with the most correct(ly spelled) answers in the fastest time will be the next Head of Household.
*** Elton (mcsteamy ) and Magic (matteeeb ), as outgoing Head of Households, you will not be participating in the challenge.
Here's an example: 1. A plate that belongs to a peaceful guy ![](https://i.imgur.com/qujlvVg.png) The hint says this is a plate that belongs to a peaceful guy.Let's break this down. We can see the word "no." The rest of the letters seem to be disconnected, so let's spread them out. N M EEThe two Es in EE can be read as "e's," as in the plural of the letter e. Phonetically, the letters N and M sound like "en" and "em."Putting what has been discovered altogether, we get no n m e's. If you say it out loud, you get "no enemies." That makes sense with the hint as well. No enemies is the correct answer for this stumper. Let's try another one:
2. A plate that tells you to watch out for potential danger ![](https://i.imgur.com/uPZyPol.png) This one is more straight-forward. It can be broken down to "Beware of K9," K9 = canine = dog.
The answer for this stumper is beware of dog. If you said beware of canine we'd accept that as well. Just ensure to break down the stumpers into words at least.
Big Brother: You must spell the words correctly for it to be a correct answer, but do not worry about punctuation.
If you have any questions, please let us know before starting the challenge. The deadline for the challenge is 11am PST / 2pm EST tomorrow, approximately 22 hours from now. Good luck!
