I’ll probably get to this really soon considering I basically know every single song hear and don’t need to listen to them again.

Made a few changes to my list, as some of these songs have significantly grown on me over the past 6 weeks. Not gonna give any titles, but a few examples: what was previously my 32 is now in my top 10, and something previously in my 70s is now in my 20s!
Nonetheless, I still take the stand that the list is mainly amazing or terrible, as there are only about 10 songs that I'd consider to be only decent.

Yeah 4 years away from the music but the year is still pretty trash. The highs are really high but there are so many lows. Way more than almost every other years last decade except maybe 2018.

Hey, we just reached the 30 submission mark! I'm glad to see that, but I think that there's still plenty of you that are waiting until the last week to submit, so I think we could push for 40, maybe even 50 submissions. You love to see it.
(Whoops, forgot to tag people yesterday. Again.)
Please do not forget to ask to be tagged, if you are not already being tagged and wish to be! And make sure to keep reminding me and fearless. If you give me a chance to forget to tag you, I will.

I think the original had 30 participants, so we're definitely gonna have more this time.

lol, maybe I was being a bit premature with my estimates.
Also, get ready for a lot more posts in the next couple of days, and I don't just mean reminders.

I was hoping to have the time to do something like this. I think I'll have enough time to do part of these. At any rate, I wanted to spend some time looking at some of the songs that missed out on the year-end chart. I probably will cover (almost) all of them, but I'll leave a disclaimer and say that there's a decent chance that I may not finish these before reveals start.
Let's start with the songs that made a dent in the top 40 before a couple of notable album bombs.
{Here's some songs} Rachel Platten - Stand by You Peak: #37 | Weeks on Chart: 19
This is, somehow, almost as much of a nothing song as "Fight Song". Key word "almost".
Luke Bryan f/ Karen Fairchild - Home Alone Tonight Peak: #38 | Weeks on Chart: 19
The best thing I can say about this song is that at least it's not the average Luke Bryan song.
Drake - Summer Sixteen Peak: #6 | Weeks on Chart: 14
This exists.
Kelly Clarkson - Piece by Piece Peak: #8 | Weeks on Chart: 15
This isn't peak Kelly, but, compared to some of the pop songs in this rankdown, it would have been welcome.
Cole Swindell - You Should Be Here Peak: #31 | Weeks on Chart: 20
You'll notice over the course of these "extras" that there's a lot of country that did well, but not well enough.
Troye Sivan - Youth Peak: #23 | Weeks on Chart: 15
It's a bit of a shame that this is the only song by Troye to have any sort of serious impact on the Hot 100, in no small part because he's capable of more than this. It still would have been welcome in this dirge of a year.
Brett Eldredge - Drunk on Your Love Peak: #35 | Weeks on Chart: 15
Here's a country song that, personally, I'm glad to see miss the year-end.
Kanye West ft. Rihanna - Famous Peak: #34 | Weeks on Chart: 6
Kanye West - Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 Peak: #37 | Weeks on Chart: 6
Why are these the deleted top 40 representatives when "Ultralight Beam" exists?
Blake Shelton - Came Here to Forget Peak: #36 | Weeks on Chart: 19
Come on, Blake, you can do better than this.
Dierks Bentley - Somewhere on a Beach Peak: #35 | Weeks on Chart: 19
Come on, Dierks, you can do better than this. Way better.
Chris Young ft. Cassadee Pope - Think of You Peak: #40 | Weeks on Chart: 20
My personal favorite of the country songs among this group of songs (though not my favorite of the "extras"). Just a nice little song.
David Bowie - Lazarus Peak: #40 | Weeks on Chart: 1
If you know me, you probably knew that I was going to save this one for last. To say that this would have been my #1, had it made the cut, would be a massive understatement. A truly powerful final statement from an icon.

One thing to keep in mind: If fearless and I don't respond to your message immediately (or maybe even at all), that's actually a good thing, as it means we've accepted your ranking without any issues. For now, we're only messaging posters who need to do something additional.
Please do not forget to ask to be tagged, if you are not already being tagged and wish to be! And make sure to keep reminding me and fearless. If you give me a chance to forget to tag you, I will.

Both of the deleted songs would be easy top 10s for me and Father Stretch My Hands Pt 1 would've been contending for my 1
Lazarus would make my top 20 even though I probably respect it more than I enjoy listening to it, and You Should Be Here would make my top 40. Think Of You might have made my top half as well, but the rest of the extras are definitely a skip for me lmao

been struggling to find the motivation to work on this... it's not been easy to get through...
I'll be so relieved when I'm done with this and I don't have to deal with these songs anymore.

Almost forgot to do this.
It's time for the two big album bombs of 2016: Lemonade and Views!
{Here's some more songs} Beyoncé - All Night Peak: #38 | Weeks on Chart: 2
This works best as part of the video version, though it's a decent song on its own. (Get ready for me to say that a lot of songs on this album are not bad. ) Beyoncé - Pray You Catch Me Peak: #37 | Weeks on Chart: 2
Probably my least favorite of the top 40s from Lemonade, but it's still fine. Beyoncé ft. Kendrick Lamar - Freedom Peak: #35 | Weeks on Chart: 2
My least favorite of the Lemonade top 40s is subsequently followed by my favorite song on the album. This would have been very high in my ranking, had it been eligible. Explosive. Beyoncé ft. Jack White - Don't Hurt Yourself Peak: #28 | Weeks on Chart: 2
I was worried going in that this collaboration wouldn't mesh, but Beyoncé sounds like she would have been a great fit in one of Jack's projects. This works better than I would have ever expected. Beyoncé ft. The Weeknd - 6 Inch Peak: #18 | Weeks on Chart: 3
Given how ubiquitous The Weeknd was at this point, I'm surprised this wasn't pushed as a single. At the same time, though, I'm not surprised., as this is not particularly a song that screams "single". It still got to the top 20 based on name value alone, which should surprise absolutely no one. Beyoncé - Hold Up Peak: #13 | Weeks on Chart: 5
This is a song that I simply can't listen to without the music video accompanying it. What a video. Beyoncé - Formation Peak: #10 | Weeks on Chart: 7
I'm shocked this wasn't the year-end representative from this album. This song just screams hit. I'm fine with what represented the album instead, I just think it's very surprising that "Formation" didn't stick around. Drake - Still Here Peak: #40 | Weeks on Chart: 10
Sadly, the Views songs just aren't as interesting. I mean...this is fine? I guess? Drake ft. Future - Grammys Peak: #38 | Weeks on Chart: 9
Something I probably should have expected to say, after listening to this song: "Life is Good" is better. Drake - Hype Peak: #35 | Weeks on Chart: 19
Can't I just go back to talking about Lemonade? Please?

We're close to the deadline, and I know we're missing some regulars. I'm sure that there's some last minute submissions coming, though.

Just sent my list in. 2016 was the first year I started paying attention to Billboard charts in 2016 so I'm certainly interested in how my enjoyment of these songs have changed over time.
