This is not the Taylor Swift record I wanted in July! However, I love her artistry And versatility. The songs are definitely nice. But I’ll keep listening to Cornelia Street and DBATC until she releases something with more tempo. I will be rooting for her AOTY nomination though. This is what I expected T9 to sound like. I knew she was going in this direction when I heard lover. I just didn’t think so soon. See: august

Okay... I cannot unhear “You’ll find me on the toilet” on “mirrorball.” 💀 I heard the same thing! Knowing how crazy she is, she probably wrote that line on the toilet and made it sound that way as a freakin Easter egg or something...

I’ll revisit the album after 8 hours of sleep. Lol

Does anyone know which three songs are the trilogy she mentioned? Also, I'm about halfway through the album so far, and I think it's great!

For my first listen to the album. I will say exile is my favorite song out of this album as the lyrics is so heart breaking and the melody is great. Bon Iver and Taylor really create a break-up song that is so moving. I hope this will eventually be a single.
My other favorite in this album are my tears ricochet, the last great american dynasty and illicit affairs.

I really enjoyed exile, cardigan, august, betty, my tears ricochet, and mirrorball. Those are my favorites.

Do people listen at 1.25 or wtf? The album is 63 minutes long and was released less than an hour ago.

I am in love with Exile. That song is so good. Betty is a country song and I love it.

I'm going to have to relisten with the lyrics in front of me to let the whole thing sink in, but on first listen this is very good. I'm so happy to be a Taylor stan lol
I feel like I wanted "Betty" to be the lead single instead of "Cardigan" but it's not like it would've mattered that much since this album doesn't seem that great for radio play anyways.
Favorites so far: "The 1", "The Last Great American Dynasty", "My Tears Ricochet", "August", "Illicit Affairs", "Mad Woman", "Betty"

Betty is excellent and her vocals were nice throughout the album but my earlier statement still stands for me.

So far, it is raw and nice, but sounds too much like The National, an overrated band known for making very boring songs.

I can’t wait to relisten to this tomorrow when I let everything sink in. My word to sum it up has to be ethereal. Looking back in ten years, this will be the holy grail for most fans that all of her future albums will be compared to.

As ALWAYS, even with the best thing she’s ever done, the first single is the worst song 😂😂😂

So is Exile her magnus opus? I don’t think I’ve ever been so moved by a song on first listen...

Sonically speaking, this is the album I feared most from her: Down-tempo Acoustic/Folk-driven Pop with lovely, light, whimsical vocals laid across relatively boring and monotonous songs.
Even “Taylor Swift” and “Fearless” have more life!
That said, the lyricism on the album is great, songs ala. “Betty” sounds as if they were birthed straight from “RED” and “Mad Woman/Epiphany” are the biggest highlights.
Nonetheless, “Speak Now” still remains my ultimate favourite by her, followed by “RED”.

Listened to 30 second clips to get a feel for it. It sounds haunted and stripped down. Perfect for a sad, moody night or when I wanna put on lingerie and run around in the woods.

Every song on this album is great. The acoustics/piano make this album great. "Hoax" what a great ending track. "August" is also a highlight. Not one bad song in the bunch. Taylor's best album since "1989", much better than "Reputation" & "Lover". I think it is her least Radio-Friendly album by far for those expecting "Shake It Off" or "Me!".

Finally finished the album and I’m blown away. Stunning from front to back. Even the songs I didn’t immediately love (“Invisible String”, “Peace”) are ones I feel will definitely grow on me. My favorites so far are “Exile”, “Mirrorball”, “August”, “Seven”, and “Betty.”
So thrilled that she decided to create this. You can feel the passion she poured into it and it’ll ultimately stand as one of her best. Can’t wait to listen to it with a nice wine buzz

Wow at Epiphany. That hit me hard. There was a stretch when it wasn't really grabbing my attention and then it just came back hard.
Ethereal is the perfect word to describe the album as a whole.
