^ “The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included. Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them. “I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.” vmagazine.com/article/the-thought-leaders-issue-taylor-swift/Iconic. Katy’s decline coincided with her endorsement of Hillary and her campaign, but I feel like this is an iconic moment for Taylor and hopefully when Biden wins, she would have lent a helping hand to the victory m.

^ explain the collapse in spins today (granted the writing was on the wall for a while); I don't think there was much point in pushing "cardigan" further at this point. If they are pushing another track to pop radio I think it's between "the 1" and "exile". I think pop radio wants "the 1", but a couple of HAC stations have been spinning "exile" so I'm not sure which one would be the better choice - plus we're headed into colder months which makes me think "exile" might work on pop (and then push "the 1" and "august" in that order if they go that deep). "the 1" seems like the most likely choice right now. "cardigan" is still going on HAC so they will probably prioritize pop radio.

"exile" wouldn't work on CHR without a radio edit, imo. definitely wouldn't expect it to go further than "cardigan" with no such version. Well what do you expect an Exile radio edit to sound like? I feel like Exile will do well at HAC and AC, as well as Spotify and YouTube, while The 1 will do better at CHR, Apple Music, and Amazon. Exile has potential to be huge globally, while The 1 can be a bigger US hit. I don't expect either song to do very well; maybe chart in the lower ends of the Hot 100 till they go recurrent, reach top 15 at their core formats and finish their first year with 300M-ish Spotfiy streams. What do you guys expect them to do performance wise? Do you think they'll be huge?

I keep hearing "exile" has potential to be huge like we're not on the streaming era and it's been out for over two months meaning it will never approach the streams it got during it's first week...
Don't take my stan card but best case scenario (realistically), they get another moderate hit on CHR ("the 1" most likely, but my favorite on the album, "august" also sounds like it could get some play). I know "exile" is a huge favorite, and I understand why, but it doesn't sound like the song that's gonna take Taylor Swift back to massive radio play in 2020, IMO.
I think barring some really unexpected promo push, all these tracks have already peaked. Taylor will probably come back with another project around 2022, after things are more "normal", and she can actually tour for the project.

What do you guys expect them to do performance wise? Do you think they'll be huge? 1. "exile" is very long for pop radio right now. songs in CHR Top 10 average 3:10 currently, with the longest being "Break My Heart" (3:42). "exile" is more than a full minute longer than the longest song up there. (I'm not going to check for the entire Top 50 but it's safe to say the Top 10 is a good representation of what pop radio wants to play.) 2. "exile" begins with Bon Iver's vocals only for about 1:20 — for someone that pop radio isn't super interested in playing, that's too long. I think an edit of the song where it begins with Taylor's verse (so at the 1:20 mark) could help its chances A LOT. that would bring the song's running time much closer to pop radio average, and also showcase the song's best part (the bridge) much sooner, potentially hooking in listeners faster. as I have explained before, "the 1" was the clear frontrunner for CHR when the album dropped, in fact, my local station played it as much as they played "cardigan" even though it wasn't sent to radio. it has also steadily performed better than "exile" on the Hot 100. however, I believe "exile" surpassed "the 1" on the Global 200 chart, so you might be on to something there.

Yeah, my expectation for a future single is basically a performance similar to "The Man" at best, I'm not expecting anything huge at this point. There have been promising signs for "exile" in some European markets though, as I said earlier it did very well on streaming there, much better than "the 1" and even outperforming "cardigan" in some countries, and it also got decent radio play in Belgium and Ireland. Personally, I agree with with born about making some cuts to the last minute of the song since I think it drags on a bit there. Not sure I agree about cutting Bon Iver's part though, from what I've seen, a lot of young women seem to really like his vocals. I realize he's obviously not a CHR staple but most of those women that seemed to be drawn to his vocals on the song were caught a bit off guard and had never heard of him before.

I wish "Cardigan" would have done more on radio, because I personally love it. I love most of the album, though, so maybe my opinion doesn't matter much. For a future single, I sure hope "Invisible String" gets released. It's such an amazing song and I just would like to see a beautiful video accompany it. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, since she released what I deem to be the best album of the year. Actually, it's my favorite album of hers ever. I still can't believe she went and delivered this masterpiece during a crappy year.
Also, I'm so in love with that EDM remix of "The Lakes" that was posted previously in this thread. It's the one song I'm really kind of eh on, but the remix made me really enjoy it.
