I swear if this has a run like Lover... What do you think could give a boost to its airplay at this stage ? A live performance on television ? Great "call out" scores ?

I swear if this has a run like Lover... What do you think could give a boost to its airplay at this stage ? A live performance on television ? Great "call out" scores ? If callouts were amazing I could see it having a mini "Delicate" type of run. But they probably won't be great because the song is very slow for pop radio and lacks any elements that pop listeners like nowadays (which isn't a bad thing, it's just what it is). A live performance would be nice and could give the song some attention, but it would probably be very short-lived and the song would return to its usual performance in a few days. I'm not sure if it's worth it to waste a promo slot on this song and also sacrifice the whole isolation vibe from the album. I'd say the only chance for now are callouts. However, the song has done its job and I wouldn't be mad if they started pushing "exile" in the next few weeks.

Not y'all still gunning for exile to be pushed to pop next when Pop clearly wants the 1.

This won't debut on Pop callouts very soon imo but maybe it will on HAC callouts next week and that will be enough to save it. That's what happened to Delicate, it was stalling on Pop but it was doing better on HAC and when HAC callouts came out they were great which boost it on both formats. I think the HAC callouts will probably still come out too late for that though tbh.

We don’t even know if the callouts are good yet, for all we know, HAC listeners could hate it What I meant was that her best hope was if HAC callouts come out soon and if they're good. But yeah, who knows, anyways, this was not an album I was expecting to do all that well on radio because it's not very pop trend-chasing, and a surprise drop like this also isn't ideal for radio.

Well, the good news is this essentially got as far as Lover did, with about 1% of the effort. This album is just not made for pop radio and that’s ok...even preferable.
I’m really thinking I’m also not made for pop radio anymore. The format as it is now just isn’t enjoyable to me. And I guess it shouldn’t be...I’m over double their target demo age at this point.

Does this sound like something radio is gonna play hourly? Can you fault them? It's actually because she's Taylor that it got as far as it did bc a lesser act would have topped out at #37.
This album isn't designed for radio play. "the 1" is a good choice but even that doesn't scream radio smash.

so it's too late to summon August in September?? That's also my favorite, I think it's the second best CHR choice after "the 1" (which is getting some spins already).

I'm not going to pretend I didn't think this could do better. I felt like pop radio wanted something a bit more mellow from Taylor, and I was ready for this to slowly make its way up to the Top 10 through the fall. I'm disappointed to see it fall short of matching "Lover"s peak spin count by more than 2,000 spins. I blame radio for spamming "Blinding Lights" and "Adore You" and picking up trash like "Before You Go" over this. Anyways.
Are we sending "the 1" to pop or what?? San Francisco already took it up to #30 at some point so we're clearly willing to spin it.

Lol at the idea that this isn't radio-friendly. Radio is just utter garbage right now, it's going all in on total garbage and dumping nearly everything that's actually good. :sip2:

Far worse ballads have been overplayed by pop radio (Before You Go, Perfect, Falling, ...). The real reason they don't spam her songs is because she is a woman. If Harry Styles sang this it would be top 5 in CHR already even if his 3 last singles had underperformed.

The first part of this comment is solely your opinion, and the second part is a baseless claim with no proof. It's so annoying when stans do this.
