Btw, Taylor Swift crashed hard on Youtube, like even GOOBA is higher than cardigan. She'll have a solid first week, but she'll crash hard in her second week.

Was there ever a time before that every song in the top 3 was all-caps? Likewise

Isn't Gooba doing only well on Youtube? All 6ix9ine tracks have huge numbers there relatively little elsewhere.

Looks like no female has had simultaneous T10 Hot 100 debuts before. Hmm. yep. The first time anyone did it, iirc, was when Ed Sheeran debuted at No. 1 with "Shape of You" and No. 6 with "Castle on the Hill." The closest any woman has come to it was a year prior when Beyoncé debuted at No. 10 with "Formation", No. 11 with "Sorry" and No. 13 with "Hold Up". Taylor looks set to do it this week, but in the event that she misses, I could see Billie or Ariana do it in the near future. (Ariana already came close once—had she not had 3 songs at Nos. 1, 2 & 3 the week her album dropped, "needy" could have had a better shot at it, or even "NASA".) These weren’t top ten debuts (simultaneous or otherwise) but related chart-trivia nonetheless. Donna Summer was the very first Female artist to have two songs in the Hot 100 top three, in 1979, during her “Bad Girls” era. • Bad Girls: #1 • Hot Stuff: #3 Whitney Houston came extremely close to having three songs in the Hot 100 top ten in 1993, in the midst of her “The Bodyguard” era. • I’m Every Woman #5 • I Will Always Love You: #7 • I Have Nothing: #11 She was the very first female act to have three songs in the Hot 100 Top 15 however and all from the same album. R.I.P Groundbreaking Queens! ❤️

Didn't Ashanti have like four songs there at once? Three at least.

Btw, Taylor Swift crashed hard on Youtube, like even GOOBA is higher than cardigan. if you mean cardigan, one is a music video with a famous female rapper well promoted weeks before and the other was announced 12 hours before and received little to no promo. I didn’t know 6ix9ine was female. Also GOOBA was a surprise release.

Didn't Ashanti have like four songs there at once? Three at least. Yes, but I was just specifying the ‘first’ Female artists to make those respective accomplishments. Ashanti. • Foolish: #1 • What’s Luv: #2 • Always On Time: #9 If she were credited on Lopez’ “Ain’t It Funny (Remix)”, which was at #3, then she would’ve had four simultaneous top ten hits. 🤭

Likewise I'm pretty sure he's referring to the Hot 100, not Spotify. The top 3 on the Hot 100 currently is all caps, and I do believe that is a first. Interestingly, all lower case has happened before, though.

Apple Music USA Top 100 - 7/28 Tuesday -
1.(+1) Pop Smoke - For the Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) Given all the albums and songs released over the last few weeks, I wouldn't have thought a song by Pop Smoke would have managed to return to #1 at this point in AM. Not that the song isn't deserving. It could be the Lil Baby + DaBaby effect.

FtN was down in streams even last week when he released the deluxe so the numbers can't be anything special but #1 on AM is nothing to sniff at.

The most impressive thing about Pop Smoke being #1, #4, and #9 on AM is that two HUGE albums have been released since then so the competition is far from weak.

I do hope Cardigan manages to debut at #1 and that The Last Great American Dynasty manages to debut in the top 10 in the Hot 100.

If it had been Come & Go or even Popstar, I wouldn't have been that surprised. Pop Smoke's album is a deluxe with 34 (!) tracks and doing max 100k according to HDD. None of those tracks are getting huge numbers, but it is kinda impressive that he has so many album tracks doing relatively well (Mood Swings in particular).

this is going to be a nailbiter. i still believe "cardigan" has a legitimate chance of going #1, due to the additional single sales from taylor's store. hoping for the best.

cardigan is such a chilled back and a perfect vibe of a song. One of the best songs of the year
