fingers crossed that cardigan is a stable Top 10 presence after this week that it can end up in the Top 20 of the year-end list, hopefully even Top 10! maybe this is just the swiftie in me talking, but I could see it kind of pulling a "Circles" (I highly doubt to its extent tho) by debuting in the top 10 and lingering in the bottom half of it for awhile, then really gaining momentum organically in the fall/winter. |

i believe the digital downloads are counting now and the CDs and picture disks are shipped in 2 weeks so another push after two weeks. idk if they'll do signed CDs after this week since it is predicted to hit #1 already but i doubt it will stay #1 for another week.

Iβve wondered how much time they have to write a review. With some albums, it takes more than just a few listens or a few days to really formulate good thoughts on it and I feel like with deadlines and a need to have a review posted the day of release at the latest, there is a requirement to jump the gun and post something to have something out there. the more you practice, the better you get at listening to a record and writing a review based on your first impression. however, I think all music journalists would agree that initial reviews are not conclusive, and they might end up putting the album in their favorites of the year even if the initial review was middling. (I also know for a fact that some artists/their labels give journalists a jumpstart by hosting listening parties and such couple days to a week in advance. this still doesn't change the fact that one listen is not conclusive, but in these cases at least the critiques come with more thought and deliberation than a review dropped an hour after album release.) I write reviews occasionally and with most albums, the reviewers can get a streaming link beforehand. With the biggest releases, however, it is not possible. I got the latest Halsey album in advance but didn't get Adele's 25, for instance. A friend of mine reviews a lot of indie albums and he had the latest Grimes album like a month in advance and I think everyone got the latest Bob Dylan early. |

The J. Cole tracks seem to be dropping fairly fast on streaming platform, regardless of Taylor flooding the charts. The Climb Back is #24 on Spotify if Taylor is not included.

well some other artists have bundled their music with jockstraps (not like anything wrong with that), collaborated with a convicted pedofile, or used covid charity as an excuse to sell music, i donβt think releasing another version of your song on CDs and Vinyls is THAT desperate.
after all last time a song that had million remixes was the one blocking her from #1

Love to see Taylor battling for #1 spot! Hope she gets it! She's gotten it already and with a sizeable gap in points between her song and ROCKSTAR, I imagine. Their points were always close and she's done better on streaming for the week. To add to that, the numerous bundles and the alternate version single she's released will more than secure it for her. |

After 6 days 'folklore' has 150.5 M streams on Spotify US. It will end up with ~166.5M total first week (based on decrease rate).
Something that 'Lover' didn't have is YouTube streaming counting for BB200. 'folklore' tracks have 92.2M streams so far Worldwide (which should be ~22.1M from U.S - using the percentage of streams from cardigan that are coming from U.S.A. [kworb chart]) So around 25M with this last half day.
So 'folklore' should have :
