This song has been around forever. How's it just breaking the Top 50 now?

Shinedown is going recurrent if it stays in the top 50. Just thought I'd mention that. I kinda hope they hold on, 'cause the Postal Service would just get that spot anyway. This song has been around forever. How's it just breaking the Top 50 now? It actually entered in March 2004. Chart run on Mediabase, beginning 11/28/03 (debuted in the top 50 3/26/04): 142-159-146-142-179-121-91-78-69-67-61-60-51-52-51-50-50-47-49-44-47-52-52-57-53-60-64-69-76-82- (7/2/04) 71-61-67-66-71-62-77-81-82-72-68-74-76-70-66-69-66-69-71-74-75-74- (archive ends 12/3/04) At its lowest "dip", it had just 72 spins.

You're telling me this didn't even DEBUT until last year? This was probably the most played song on WEQX during the summer of '03! :o

Just 2 spins away!!!!
And look at that audience...highest of any song outside the top 25. Will other stations take note?
But uh oh...here comes Papa Roach.

Today the first time I've heard this song. I like it more than all the other songs I've listen to.

It made it! This is awesome. Yeah, Papa roach is on its way up, and I'm sure The White Stripes will be in there by next week too, but the song is still gaining and there's plenty of (-)'s ahead of it as well. It may hang around for a few more weeks if it can keep things up.
And we all thought it would take a fluke to make it back in. But 240 plays is enough to make the top 50 just about any week.

It has mysteriously disappeared from Mediabase's charts and has fallen to recurrent, thirteen weeks short of meeting the criteria for recurrent status. This could be a world record for world's largest crock of horseshit if this trend continues onto wednesday's R and R chart, which I totally believe will happen because R and R has neglected to list the song as part of its New and Active list, to which it rightfully belonged in recent weeks.

But they didn't move "Sorrow" by Bad Religion into recurrent when it re-entered the chart after a multi-month absence, and that was by far much more of a fluke than SGH. I don't care, a song gaining 40 plays that's in the top 50 is not a recurrent.

Heh. Well, Mediabase did move Three Days Grace to recurrent when they were at #1, so I guess this is just proof that they're more intent on playing games with us than serving us brute-force viewers of their private data with 100% accurate charts.

This placed at #23 on KROQ's 2005 countdown.
Isn't this song like 12 years old by now?

Almost 3 years old.
I remember getting it the first day it came out. It seems like ages ago. How it could still be on a countdown is sort of ridiculous but it is a really good song, so who knows.
I can't wait for their new album.

Never realized this song is that old. But it's a great song indeed. Hopefully these guys release a new single soon.

I don't think they'll release anything soon because Death Cab has a record out right now. Probably mid-late 2007.
