What a great song this is, and it is actually going to chart! It's about time, this has been floating around for a whole year and was even in the top 5 for me for 2003 with"Give Up" being in the top ten in albums.

That was a great album and it's great to see that both of Ben's bands (Death Cab and Postal Service) are beginning to get some airplay.. I really liked "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" off of the "Give Up" Cd..
It's also great to see Modest Mouse getting some recognition finally..
Another bright hope is that Belle and Sebastian can break with "Stay Loose" ..

Geez, I've been hearing this song for like a year now. It's OK, but I don't think it's too spectacular. I'd much rather it be "The New Year" by Death Cab For Cutie getting this airplay. From what I remember the only other major market outside of Seattle that played this was in Boston. I was hoping it would trickle down to WXRK and go from there, but I guess not.
Another song I wouldn't mind breaking out is "Time Is Running Out" by Muse. I'm really jamming to this right now.

This song is so groovy...I love the entire album. I can't believe that it looks like it's going to chart! They play it on Big Sonic Chill a lot.

This is nuts. It's back up to #56 now... and if the chart week ended today, it would technically get a New & Active position since it never made the top 40 on R&R (it peaked at #44).

Well, part of me actually wouldn't mind it charting due to the craziness of the situation, but as I said in another topic, why the hell won't this song die? I mean, other than KNDD, who's still playing this? I still think this song is OK, but it's terribly overrated. That being said, I'd rather this song drop back down to 200 or whatever than enter the top 50.
Incidentally, this wouldn't be the first time something like this happened. "Starfuckers, Inc." by Nine Inch Nails reentered the chart back in 2000 at least eight or so months after it first debuted. I don't know if that was the same situation here, or if there was a re-release or something. It never got above #36 that whole time, though.

Insane to see this continuing its success. Great to see something different from the Alt. template acts get recognized, though.

I'd rather this song drop back down to 200 or whatever than enter the top 50. It never did drop down to #200 in the first place. In fact, I don't think it's been below #70 since it first charted.

Taken out of its context as a golden oldie, a song like Nirvana's 'Come As You Are' would consistently be in the top 40. I'd rather Such Great Heights spun 400 times a week over a song that's been played to death for the past dozen years. Of course in this case it's just a handful of stations still playing the song in regular rotation. But if it causes a few other stations to reconsider adding the song, I'm all for it.

Yeah, that's true, but I'd still rather it be a number of other songs lurking in the lower pits of the chart than this one. Hell, even the venerable song "The New Year" by Death Cab, which I mentioned last year, is also fronted by Ben Gibbard, and isn't that much younger than SGH, I'd rather have in its place. But right now, this just seems to be a regional hit. The only station outside of the west coast that's playing this is in Norfolk, VA. I doubt it'll set a new peak unless Sub Pop formally re-releases it.

"Starfuckers" first appeared on the "Day the World Went Away" teaser single (Halo 13) and was released as the official third single back in the spring of 2000, retitled "Starsuckers, Inc." with a video and everything.

Up to #53 today. This actually has a small chance of making the top 50 this week if Korn, Rise Against and Velvet Revolver all fall below it.

#51 this week, they really should give this song a good push, it could be huge. The song debuted on my chart in 2003, then resurfaced twice in 2004. I just love this song!

Whoa, this is serious. Is "Let Me Go", or anything else, set to go recurrent next week (along with "Home")? If so, this could allow Muse to pass it up, and still make the top 50 next week, and maybe even become more of a sure shot if Korn drops below it.

"Scars" would also go recurrent if it falls below #20. 16 19 PAPA ROACH Scars 901 969 -68 5.524 18 20 THREE DAYS GRACE Home 837 942 -105 4.099 24 21 Z-TRIP Walking Dead 817 653 164 6.969 22 22 TRUST COMPANY Stronger 775 725 50 2.741 We know Z-Trip is going to replace Three Days Grace, but it's possible that "Stronger" could knock out "Scars". It's 126 spins behind, but gaining at a net of 118 spins per week. If "Stronger" picks up some or "Scars" starts losing more, it would free up two open spots. "Burning Bright" goes the week of the 22nd.

Will WXRK switching to Active Rock affect any of the bubble songs?

Will WXRK switching to Active Rock affect any of the bubble songs? Probably not much. The songs of interest ("Scars", "Stronger", "ABITW", and "DLT") are all as suited to Active Rock as to Alternative.

This is looking like it could be as hgh as #48 by Sunday night. Hopefully Arcade Fire can get in there too.

Yeah, but it's not looking too good for the Arcade Fire though; they're on pace to fall beneath that Keane song, with no songs tumbling down from above, and not enough falling to recurrent.
It is looking like a done deal for "Such Great Heights" coming back in, though. I wonder if it couldn't end up peaking higher than it originally got to. This isn't a fluke that it's re-entering; it's gaining plenty of plays right now.

Eh. Nuts...
And that Seether song will probably enter the picture next week, too. And even though I love "Dirty Little Thing", why is it waiting 'til now to start scrapping to get its bullet back.

It just has to leapfrog the lame Shinedown song.

Great, now that ensures some song or two to instant impact straight into the top 50 ahead of this one, now that Syrup Boy had to go say something about it...
