The long pond studio session version is also good. It's interesting that Joe basically wrote the chorus for this one. I was very surprised by how much Joe supposedly wrote of both this and Exile!

At this point, I think there's still time for it to recover enough this winter to limp into the top 30, but I really doubt it goes any higher on the charts than the 26-30 range. Not a bad showing at all for her given that she hasn't been a country music mainstay in like 7 years, and that "Betty" sounds exactly like nothing country radio desires to play. Shows how much good will she still has in the industry that it's been received this well, and suggests to me that with something better geared for airplay she'd probably land another big hit pretty easily.

I'm wondering if betty will still get pushed considering Taylor Swift is set to release a new album tomorrow.

I wonder if Taylor's team will try something from evermore - I can see them trying the HAIM feature ("no body, no crime") if they want to send something from it.

Remix "no body, no crime" to be a duet with Carrie Underwood and send it to country radio as the new single. Country radio could use a good murder ballad.

Put the album on this morning otw to work and as soon as I heard "no body, no crime" I thought that would be a great option for country radio!

Would love the Chicks as well.

I will say I don't think "Betty" is gonna make it much farther or last much longer on the chart and if I were a betting man I think it misses the Top 30 on BOTH charts. Ever since hitting the Top 40 on Billboard back in September this song has gained a total of 148k in 13 weeks (on average 11k a week) and has since gotten passed by all these songs that were at the time behind it:
Jordan Davis "Almost Maybes" Dylan Scott "Nobody" Brett Young "Lady" Maren Morris "To Hell & Back" Gabby Barrett "The Good Ones" Parmalee & Blanco Brown "Just The Way" Jake Owen "Made For You"
The final nail in the coffin being the fact that out of all the songs below the Top 30 right now on Billboard "Betty" is the only one who has scored exactly ZERO ADDS the past 4 weeks. I think this will probably hold til the new year and will probably be let go of sometime in January (especially with the amount of new singles coming in January) if I had to guess.

For the first real push for a solo Taylor Swift single since "Red," I am quite happy with betty's performance. I honestly thought she'd scrape the Top 40 and radio would immediately be done, so my expectations were definitely exceeded. I'd like to see a Top 30 finish on either chart (even if it's a skin-of-the-teeth #30) but it unfortunately just doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
"no body, no crime" ft. Carrie Underwood (the country mix of an already country song basically) should 100% be serviced to the format. The great lyrics from Taylor (reminiscent of such CU classics as "Before He Cheats" and "Two Black Cadillacs") and the power of both names, not to mention the lovely production, could possibly send Taylor to the Top 5 at country radio for the first time since "Highway Don't Care," and the first time as lead artist since "Begin Again." MCA helped service betty; Capitol Nashville (CU's home) could help with NB,NC.

Mediabase has removed "betty" from its chart, so yeah, I guess it's done.
As Tay said, though, this did have decent longevity for peaking at No. 32 (Billboard). Hopefully it logged its 20th week on the aforementioned's Country Airplay chart.

"betty" never received one, and while it can be done in a style that protects everyone from COVID-19 (we do still have a couple more months before this vaccine is widely distributed, even to celebrities), I have noticed that Taylor is rolling things out for this album in a similar--in fact, identical--fashion as folklore. Make no mistake though--I want that remix and MV.

This part feels more like fan fiction/fantasy than realistic as at least as of right now there are no plans to remix the song. Don't get me wrong I like the song too but I imagine it would probably go to country radio as is more than likely.

CU should've been the song's feature to begin with anyway.

I do agree speculation is fine and fun, but I always prefer speculation when there is smoke and potentially fire to the speculation not a near clear view of the land. Sorry if my post came across as mean in any way that was not my intention at all.

Ahh, not having looked at a physical Billboard in eons, I thought the green signified a bullet, not simply upward movement. Thanks for the clarification.

Among the top 50 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, "betty" is ranked No. 35 in terms of spins (1,121). The audience drop is just .267, for a total of 2.687 million impressions.

Does anyone honestly think Taylor will ever have another top 10 hit on the country charts? I think she might if it’s a duet with another country artist but just as herself I really don’t look for her to.

I think she might if it’s a duet with another country artist but just as herself I really don’t look for her to. I doubt it. If she released an album that is classified as country she might. I just don’t see country radio allowing songs to succeed if they are coming from an album that’s not classified as country. I agree if there is any chance that it would probably need to be in the form of a duet; which is why I would be 100% here for “no body no crime” to be a duet with CU.
