Chart of the week Aug. 1
Prediction for #1: Either I Love My Country or Grew Up On That
- Locash achieved their first #1 in Canada. - 2 re-entries and 1 new song. - Interesting that Kip Moore just entered this chart, even though She's Mine is about to drop from the US chart. - Tim & Glory Boys's first single has dropped after peaking at #19. Great Song!

I like this! I purposely seek out the canadian country airplay chart every few weeks or so to see if there are any canadian artists songs that i like.

http://instagram.com/p/CDCDqyhpyd4 2nd single from Love, Heartbreak, & Everything in Between. Will be released on Canadian Radio, as Somebody Like That, which is still active on US radio, has dropped from Billboard Canada Country Chart after peaking at #9, which is her career high. Catchy, upbeat song. Personally very excited for this, as this is my fav from the album, and hoping that this will be her first #1 on Canada Country Chart.

Chart of the week Aug. 8
Prediction for #1: Either Grew Up On That or Like A Man Prediction for drop: No Truck Song, Six Feet Apart, possibly I needed that, God Whisper, Seeing Other People, and Bluebird
- The Chicks's new radio single entered the chart. Sad that it is unlikely to be successful in the US chart, but at least it could do well in Canada. - New single by Meghan Patrick has entered. Her last single Things I Shouldn't Say was a better song, but it only peaked at #32. Hope this one do well on the chart.

Upset Brett Kissel didn’t do too well with his latest, I quite enjoyed it.

Brett Kissel is friends to Brad Paisley, so the next video update would be the new video for No I In Beer that featured Brett in the video. I hope Brett gets going in Nashville. We are long overdue for a breakout Canadian male artist since Paul Brandt and female artists since Shania Twain. Anne Murray had the most number ones of Canadian artists with Shania at number two.

Chart of the week Aug 15
Prediction for #1: Like A Man or Done
- One Night Standards is doing good here, but I don't see it becoming #1 - Done has a shot of #1, but considering it will lose plays in the US, it may affect its performance in Canada, and Like A Man can be pushed next week. - Good to see High Valley #1, this song is released in the US (small radio market).

With High Valley's last single in the U.S. not even charting I do wonder if Warner Bros. is just going to focus on the Canadian market for them?

Lorne Green Anne Murray (the most country hits and number 1 hits in the US.) Hank Snow Shania Twain Terri Clark Paul Brandt Gordon Lightfoot You had 19 others had top 40 hits or minor hits. Since 2000, there were only like 13 artists that hit the top 40 which none reached number 1. Emerson Drive came close with Moments. Late 1990s, you had Shania, Terri, Paul, The Wilkinsons and Michelle Wright were in the top 40 at times at the same time. This is why I say you could get more Canadian and Australian artists on the US charts better before the year 2000. You did not have a record company pushing a song for the most spins in over a year it was released.

Lorne had about the same chart success as Crystal Shawanda. I do admit there was a nice little spurt of Canadian artists making a U.S. push in the late 90's, but Other than Shania and Terri none had long lasting success. Emerson Drive Carolyn Dawn Johnson Aaron Lines Adam Gregory Kortney Kayle George Canyon Lace High Valley Crystal Shawanda Lindsay Ell Dean Brody Tenille Arts Tenille Townes Steven Lee Olsen Jaida Dreyer MacKenzie Porter The Road Hammers All charted in the U.S. after 2000 and 2 of them have #1's. You can add Justin Bieber for another Canadian to get a #1 if you wanted. Sure we haven't had anybody break out as big as Hank, Shania, Anne, or Terri but there's been just as many as before who've been charting.

Lorne Greene hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963 with Bonanza on the B side. Gil Grand had a minor hit after 2000. I have heard of Jason McCoy before he joined The Road Hammers. That was before 2000. Gord Bamford is ft. on Colt Ford's Chicken and Biscuit. Did Alex J. Robinson had a minor hit after 2000? It depends on which chart for Paul Brandt. Number 2 on Billboard Hot Country for "I Do" and number 1 for radio airplay. "Convoy" was his last minor hit on the US charts.

Does Dean Brody even try anymore, or does he just record the most cringy songs that come to him? He just really has been releasing garbage songs over the past year or so and really pushing me off.

Chart of the week Aug 22.
Prediction for #1: Lovin' On You will pass Done and One Night Standards. Not sure Done can climb up, considering it has already reached #1 and started dropping in the US.
- As i Predicted, Smith took #1. His new album Timeless will be released on Aug 28. - Both Ell and Arts entered the chart with their second single from the album. - Some Girls jumped up the chart by 12, with +289 plays, the second most of the week, after Smith.

I guess you aren't fan of this one, his current single. It sounds a little generic and safe to me, but considering his popularity, easy for him to enter top 10. I predict this actually will be #1, which makes him taking #1 in a row after Can't Help Myself.

No, I really dislike it. I liked Time, Bob Marley, even Bush Party was okay. But I feel every song he releases now just lacks any creativity. I get it, he’s the Luke Bryan of Canadian Country Music, but he use to put out even generic songs that were better than what he’s releasing now.

I like Dean's "The Black Sheep" and "I Can't Help Myself." "The Black Sheep" actually tells a story which a lot of country music songs are lacking today.

I've made it a point to listen to CT40 every Saturday afternoon starting at 1PM (EDT) on CFCY since Canadian stations have been required to air a hefty percentage of music by Canadian artists for decades; the minimum was 35% which I discovered when I visited Toronto and Montreal for the first time in 1975 but I have no idea what the current requirement is or if it's been modified since.
There's certainly no shortage of wonderful female singers from Canada including Tenille Townes and Jess Moskaluke for starters.

Prediction for #1: Lovin' On You. I hope Where I'm from will be pushed, after Lovin' on You
- Unlike my prediction, One Night Standards reached #1, her first #1. - No new Canadian singles. - Grew Up On That by High Valley will be released to US radio in September

http://instagram.com/p/CEcJDFknwj7 Dallas Smith's new album "Timeless" came out last night. The album includes five #1 songs: Make 'Em Like You, Rhinestone World, Drop, Timeless, and Like A Man, chronologically. He's very good at concert and has very unique voice. Timeless, the title single that became #1, is my fav of all country songs. (Brett Eldredge is one of the song writers) I hope next single will be "Bars" (Josh Kerr is one of the song writers)

Chart of the week Sept 5
Prediction for #1: Highly Likely to be Lovin' On You for another week, or maybe One Of Them Girls. Where I'm From was pushed this week, so likely to drop next week.
- Reklaws got most increased plays, but sadly failed to beat Combs just by 10 plays... - Only 1 new song, quiet week.

Only new entry of the week is Chemical by Jojo Mason.
From 604 record, he is known for his R&B/Soul inspired sound and has hit songs like "Better on you" and "Future". Will this be his first #1 hit...?

Chart of the week Sept 19
Prediction for #1: Canadian Summer by Dean Brody
- Kalsey Kulyk climbed the chart by 2 after surprise entry last week. She is Eric Ethridge's wife - #50 Big Big Plans has only 129 plays, low threshold to enter the chart. - #9 Matt Lang is doing good, his first top 10. May have a shot for first #1

Brett Kissel - A Few Good Stories.
Now on radio, third single from Now Or Never. Personally, the best one from the album, and so glad that it's a single now (also as a country line dancer, too). While Drink About me hit #1, She Drives Me Crazy failed to be top 10, which happened for the first time since 2016. Hope this will be #1. Easy on ears than Drive Me Crazy song. (I dont mind that song though.)
