Brett was being pushed last year on CMT for Drink About Me. Saw his video for the song on there. Plus, being friends to Brad Paisley helps.

Chart of the week Sept. 26
Prediction for #1: Pretty hard, dont think Brody will be pushed for 2 wks. Brice and Combs is close, and Combs should lose fewer plays, even if both drop. Or Aldean has momentum, so it could jump up, but pretty tough to take #1 that is 500 plays away this week. 2nd highest Canadian is TJ Miller, but still at 8th. I would say Combs come back to #1 again, as a result of Brice and Brody drop.
- As I predicted, Brody took #1 again, 2 singles in a row, even though I'm okay about this song. - 2 new Canadian singles, Hicks and Goodvin. - Moskaluke left the chart with Half Way Home, peaking only #11. Last single Country Girls took her first #1, but momentum did not last for this song, sadly. Country Girls is a greater song, so kind of make sense.

Chart of the week Oct 3
Prediction for #1: Got What I Got is close enough to #1.
- Brice got #1 again, with no change in number of spins. - Great clean up week with 3 new Canadian singles, Kissel, Pritchett, and Kalsey Kulyk's husband, Eric Ethridge. - A Few Good Stories entered the chart at #34, one of the highest debuts that I've ever seen, good start!!!

Canadian Radio really loves letting our own artists drop like rocks as soon as they peak, giving them no chance at longevity.

Chart of the week Oct 10
Prediction for #1: I called Mama has a shot, considering it will also be pushed in the US this week.
- Aldean got #1 as I predicted. 5 #1 singles in a row since You Make It Easy, including pathetic We Back. - 4 new songs, new one by Dallas Smith, okay single choice. Bars is my favorite. - Bobby Wills on the chart first time since 2017. Doing good in small market in the US as well. - Without A Prayer is second single from Tim & The Glory Boys. Sounds as great as When You Know You Know. - Shame that Madeline Merlo missed #1 again with Kiss Kiss.

I find Jason's 'Got What I Got' so disrespectful to his ex-wife, he's such a slime ball and it irritates me he's still so successful.
Happy to see Tenile Arts climb a bunch, and I hope Lindsay isn't done.

You don't know what actually happened between him and the ex wife tough, why assume he's the one who was disrespectful if you have no clue about their personal matters.

He was caught cheating on his wife in public. It seems like a huge blow to the ex wife, when it is well documented everything she did to help him. It’s tasteless, and the song itself makes it seem he doesn’t even care about her hurt feelings.

The relationship was already over and he wasn't the one doing the disrespecting. Anyways to get back on the right track, hope Bobby wills can score another top 20 hit with his new record.

Attachment DeletedJust attended a small concert by Jess Moskaluke. (First concert since March...) She performed a new song about her home town, Map Dot, that will be released next week. I assume it will be her third single from upcoming, yet to be announced, album/EP, now that Half Way Home is done. Cannot say it's the most radio friendly song, but hopefully it will do well on Canada and Australian chart. Still feel strange that she has only one #1 hit in Canada, Country Girls. Even the platinum single Cheap Wine & Cigarets did not reach #1

But she’s consistent, and has served longevity with her career thus far.

Chart of the week Oct 17
Prediction for #1: Pretty hard, One Beer can aim anther week, but #of plays is not so significant this week. I called Mama is done in the US, so may drop here as well. Some Girls has a shot, and Getcha can be pushed to aim Matt's first #1, but I would say More Than My Hometown, considering the size of audience is #2 this week, and only behind One Beer by 122 in plays.
-Missed the prediction, didn't see One Beer coming. -New single by Porter is here, will be #1, I predict. -Sleep At Night has already started dying after 11 weeks and peaking only at #35.

Second single from great EP "Grew Up On That." Soon to be on the chart. Grew Up On That is the best from the EP for sure (one of the best songs this year), but still solid choice. Other options like One Day You'll Get It or Northern Star are pretty good as well. Hoping Grew Up On That will do something in US mainstream radio, doing not bad in small markets, (Indicator Chart and Breakout Chart by Music Row).

New single by Madeline Merlo Was released at the same timing as Kiss Kiss, the last single. Only time her name showed up in the US was as a writer of Champagne Night by Lady A after winning Songland. I like Kiss Kiss slightly more, but hoping she'll get her first #1 in Canada with this. She's from Maple Ridge BC #supportlocaltalent

That was a hit on the Indicator and Activator charts.

http://instagram.com/p/CHGJYDIlD_S New album by Dean Brody in a couple of weeks. I assume this includes songs from Black Sheep EP, as well as his last 2 singles, Can't Help Myself and Canadian Summer.

Chart of the week Nov 7
Prediction for #1: More Than My Hometown have a shot for another week. Happy Anywhere is behind by 200.
TJ miller, previous #1, will be releasing his debut EP tonight. Tenille Townes may be the next Canadian Single which has s shot for #1.

Chart of the week Nov 14
Prediction for #1: The difference between Wallen and Shelton is now 100, so Shelton has a shot. Wallen is already losing some spins. Jameson Rodgers is not bad as well, but considering that it is done in the US, have less shot. Tenille Townes got most increased plays (+357), so she may have a shot, if she keeps the momentum. However, this week could also be her last push.
- Wallen got another #1 as I predicted. Can't wait for his double album! - #44 Jess Moskaluke entered with her 3rd single from upcoming to be announced album/EP. - Champagne Night and All Night are doing far better in Canada than in the US. They are already in top10. Lady A had extremely slow start, and was almost sent to recurrent, if it entered top 30 1 week later, but took only 5 weeks to jump from top 30 to #8

Brett did a remixed version on this song with Walk off the Earth.
On the Indicator chart, Jackson Michelson reentered because it is a remixed ft. Collin Raye.

I have to say that I'm not a big fan of this production. Sounds a little off. Too much instrumental sound behind Brett's vocal at the first verse is kinda distracting. But other than that, I LOVE having Sarah's voice and their harmony in this song. Hope Walk off the Earth releases their "unique instrumental version", like they did for Girls Like You or Gotye's song.

She's an independent singer from Montreal, and in New and Active. Pretty sure this will be her first song on Billboard.
Hope to see her succeeding in the chart, not just because I like this catchy, poppy song, but also because it will be an opportunity for Canadian Country radio to become an industry with equal success opportunities and diversity.

Here are the list of some of my fav Canadian Country songs from this year. We got to see some Canadians on US mainstream radio, including Tenille Arts, Lindsay Ell, and MacKenzie Porter. (Also Champagne Night written by Madeline Merlo from Songland) In addition, High Valley, Meghan Patrick, and Bobby Wills got some plays in small markets. Hope to see more Canadians succeeding on the US chart.
For major singers, Dean Brody, Brett Kissel, Tenille Arts, Lindsay Ell, Jade Eagleson, The Reklaws and Dallas Smith have released an album, respectively. A new singer from BC, Tyler Joe Miller scored 2 #1 hits with his traditional country sound.

The third single from his debut EP, Sometimes I Don't, But Sometimes I Do.
He has traditional country music sound compared with many other Canadian country music singers on the chart. Definitely well connected with audience on radio, last 2 singles were both #1 hit. Personally, neutral about this, not as good as his debut single Pillow Talking.

Chart of the week Feb 6
- Dallas Smith got 6 consecutive #1s (all from album Timeless) in a row with Something Never Change. This one is solid song, but not as good as Like A Man or Timeless. - As Brett Kissel has reached #1 with A Few Good Stories and now descending, he should release a new single soon - Robyn Ottolini is climbing in quite fast pace, 4 weeks and already at #28. - Quite early debut by Russell Dickerson's Home Sweet. Canadian Chart is usually around 15 weeks behind for follow-up singles to be on the chart, compared to US Chart. - Very low bar for the chart entrance. Tebey's new single (yeah, quite an R&B song) debuted with only 129 plays!!

New single "All Night To Figure It Out" by Jade Eagleson. Looks like he's moving on from his debut album "Jade Eagleson", after four top 10 hits. (Got Your Name On It, Count The Ways, Lucky = #1 hit, and Close) This song sounds okay to me, I wish he released Hackin' Dirts as a single.

Happy National Drink Wine Day. (My favorite Wine song that I didn't include in 2020 Canada RD, as I just didn't wanna see y'all tanking Emily Reid)

Attachment Deleted Thresholds to enter Canadian Country Chart is very low this week! Petric needed only 82 plays to be on top 50 with their new single "Kids" This is due to only small number of songs are pushed right now, with regulars like Lindsay Ell, Tenille Townes, Tenille Arts, and James Barker Band not being on the chart, and singles by Dallas Smith, Brett Kissel, and Tim & Glory Boys are dropping. For Canadians, only Tyler Joe Miller, Matt Lang, Madeline Merlo, The Reklaws and Dean Brody are climbing in a slow pace. Also, good news for Good Time haters, that song is done in Canada

Kissel is moving forward from Now or Never" after 3 singles (#1- Drink About Me, She Drives Me Crazy, and #1- A Few Good Stories) This is going to be a new single from an upcoming album "What Is Life" (Apr. 9)
Not his best song, but still has a solid melody and I can see this becoming #1. Good decision to move on from the album "Now or Never", as the last single "A Few Good Stories" was the best song from the album.
