Billie Elish's "my future" added to Today's Top Hits at the very top. Also at the very top of New Music Friday with her as the cover. (Taylor is still the cover on TTH.) Taylor Swift and Bon Iver's "exile" was also added to Today's Top Hits at #15. ("cardigan" is #2.)

I need to revisit the Billie track a few more times because right now it's probably my least favorite single of her career so far.
I wasn't a fan of The Gift last year, and a tacked on track and two remixes aren't going to change that.

Watermelon Sugar is already atop on Pop and seems to only be further rising but I don't know if it's a strong contender for #1
but I hope it can pull it off in some weeks when it's peaking on radio and Rockstar and Taylor see declines! They can take Adore You off the Pop Songs Top 5,though

Nothing from The Gift seems to be taking off. Not surprising, as the album has been out for a year, but I canβt help but feel like it should be hitting somewhere. Maybe the Disney+ special is inspiring more viewers than listeners.

Hoping the 10 new songs are at least better than the original Blame It on Baby. Though honestly, I think I'd much prefer it if Deluxe albums - especially if they're going to be marketed as different albums - would just be counted as stand-alones. Right now, it's the equivalent of combining an EP of B-sides with the original

The one thing with these 'deluxes' they objectively need to put a stop to is allowing new tracks to be added mid-week during the first week of release. Still leaves a sour taste in my mouth how NAV was projected to do similar numbers to Kehlani, then he added an entire second album mid-week to get ahead. That is definitely going to become more common as bundles stop counting.
The thing about deluxes with 8+ more songs though, is honestly, it really doesn't make sense. These deluxes only boost an album for 1-2 weeks, then it goes back to streaming levels that were basically similar if there was no deluxe.
Why would you throw together 10 new tracks for only a 2-week boost, rather than doing an entire new later that year and actually getting considerable numbers. For example, if Ariana had just decided to do a Deluxe for Sweetener instead of releasing TUN by itself, then it certainly wouldn't have did 350k+ in a single week later on and moved 2 million more units. It would've just been a slight bump that went away after less than a month. Deluxes don't really generate much interest despite the fact its basically a whole new album added in a lot of cases.

That NAV vs. Kehlani was disgusting. Kehlani has been above NAV on album chart ever since, though.

When Gaga did it was a relatively rare thing (and the standalone EP had to chart separately, so those sales didn't boost the original's chart placement).
It's becoming a trend now that labels will exploit until BB changes the rules (see also: bundles), and the more it happens, the more chart followers are going to be annoyed by it.
I don't get the need to turn everything into a rappers vs divas argument tbh. People also tried to drag Dua Lipa when her deluxe edition included most of her collabs up to that point, and even then the arguments were relatively minor because the only achievement she got out of doing that was "most streamed album by a female on Spotify", which let's be honest isn't a huge deal.
