As I have already hinted in another thread, "Figured You Out" has become a Top 5 hit on 61 stations alone. With 81 stations representing Alternative, "Figured You Out" only represented 75% of the panel.
However, Nickelback have just lost their bullet at #5 after matching their #4 peak with "Someday".
My question is:
"Had "Figured You Out" gotten play from the other 20 stations, would it have been a #1 hit?
Considering they reached the 2000 spin mark in a week for Alternative, and averaged about 34 spins for the single per station (2000/61), had the same average been applied to the other twenty stations not picking the single up, they would have reached a peak week of 2700 spins.
"Megalomaniac" is the only current single that has produced over 2700 spins since last week.
Thoughts on this?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

The station that are and aren't play the big Active Rock and Rock hit shows that with the rock formats Alternative station X could have more in common with Active Rock station Y than with Alternative station Z (X and Y would represent stations playing "Figured You Out" and Z would be a station not playing it).

According to R&R, at least 63 stations are playing the song. Three stations only just added the song (San Jose, Monmouth Ocean, Denver) 17 still haven't added it. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I would bet that if those other 17 stations were playing "Figured You Out" that it would peak at #1. It's really too bad this is among my favorite Nickelback songs.

Though lyrically it is kind of a perverted song, I think it's one of their best-sounding singles yet. I can easily see why the Rock fans are happy seeing Nickelback is not abandoning their base despite hitting it big mainstream. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
