"Ths One's for the Girls" not in the Top 10?! I just have to say, this moment from the first Martina rankdown is still one of my favorite rankdown moments of all time 😂 I still think about it weekly!

That's right, in the battle to see which song from the Martina album would reign supreme, the final two remaining tracks tied with each other!! "How Far" was a force, with .indulgecountry putting it at #2, but Juanca was able to give the edge to "This One's For The Girls" with his #1 rank. TOFTG is one of her most iconic hits, and is easily one of the top 5 songs that people would think of when they think of Martina McBride. One of those hits that FEELS like a #1, despite coming up just short. Add it to the stack of her hits that narrowly missed #1 but should have made it... This song may not be everyone's cup of tea lyrically, but melodically it is such a jam! I love the electric guitars as well. I feel no shame jamming out to this one whenever it comes on! That being said, it is one of her songs that overplay has definitely affected a little for me, so I don't seek it out on my own quite as often as I do with many of the songs that I ranked above it.

Would’ve loved to have seen “This One’s for the Girls” make the top 10 myself because I love the song and jam out to it every time. There was never a doubt in my mind that I would make this the main theme/concept song to represent the ladies of country music for the 2000’s era and I used it as a guide to select the other songs.

“How Far” is severely over sung. It gives me a headache. But the song is pretty good.
Most of these reveals are carbon copies of where they first ranked, give or take a spot or two. Interesting.

We can stop there if you want bboat11 (I’m just not ready!) (She just ain't ready) Interesting choice for a hint there “Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong” likely overstayed in the previous rankdown and it leaving before the top 10 this time seems about right.

Haha unfortunately that trend did not continue when you needed it most!! "Wrong Baby Wrong" plummets from finishing at #7 last time to finishing at #13 this time. This song is soooo infectious and catchy! One of the most underrated hits of the 2010s, in my opinion. The way it connected, it felt like it was going to be the one to bring her back into the upper regions of the chart....and then it stalled at #11 just like "Ride" did!!!! UGH!!!!!! Still, it has gone on to be a huge fan favorite, as to this day it still shows up in her live shows pretty frequently, and it won the Shine album rankdown pretty handily!

You guys might have noticed that I have stopped highlighting album tracks in the album write-ups. Let's just say that all of these albums are so strong that it's pretty much pointless. I'd just be sharing the entire album By now we've pretty much established the best album tracks multiple times over with the album rankdowns as well as the album tracks rankdown.

I honestly think Shine is one of Martina's best albums. The singles were all great songs, and then there were such great album tracks as "Wild Rebel Rose" and "Lies," to name a couple.
I remember when I was around 9 seeing her in Sunny D commercials on TV using "Sunny Side Up" as the theme song lol

I honestly think Shine is one of Martina's best albums. Correct me if I’m wrong bboat11 , but I’m pretty sure this is one of the few albums I ended up skipping on in the Martina McBride album series.

That's right!!!! Not only was "My Baby Love Me" a top 10 finisher last time, but it was also a top 5 finisher!!! And yet this time it wasn't even able to make the top 10 And you can tell by the trajectory graph that it wasn't even close to matching its former performance. This song was fighting to even finish right on the cusp of the top 10. This is without a doubt one of her most iconic hits!!! It was the song that really put her on the map when it peaked at #2 as the lead single to her second album. This song unfortunately fell victim to Garth's "Two Of A Kind Workin' On A Full House" if I remember correctly. How ironic that Garth would give her her big break, but then also block her from getting her first #1. On her podcast episode with Garth last year, they reminisced about the fact that this song only missed out on being her 1st #1 hit by like 17 spins. SEVENTEEN SPINS!!!! I can't believe it. I'm glad I was literally an infant then, otherwise I would've been pissed 😂

So, the good news about "My Baby Loves Me" vacating the top 5 is that we have a guaranteed opening for a song that didn't make it last time to make it in Anyone want to make any predictions for which one it will be?? Edit: And also, what could be our final song to miss the top 10?!

I’m shocked and maybe even a bit disappointed that “My Baby Loves Me” didn’t even manage to make the top 10 this time around. I can’t help but think that overplay was a huge factor in this missing out as having grown up with this song my entire life I can certainly see why that might be. That said, this is one of her most iconic hits that it almost feels wrong for it to not be included. Nonetheless, it had its time to shine in the previous rankdown and I can’t say I’m glad that there are a few shakeups in the mix!
