I cannot believe we live in a country where radio allowed Bang!, Dynamite, and ily do better than Midnight Sky... Dynamite deserves. The other two are absolute abominations.

can't believe RCA already giving it up #WorstLabelEver While I agree RCA is a terrible label, this really isn’t their fault. I predicted in the beginning that this won’t go far on radio simply because of radio’s stigma against veteran female artists. It’s so predictable at this point and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. It’s not going to change unless there’s a systematic take down.

sooo... how do they pick which songs to keep and which to dump, then? what is their criteria?
this had good callouts, good sales, good streaming and is by an established name. literally what else do they want?
ALSO - do we think this can make it to recurrency on the H100?

Just as I thought I was starting to get burnt on this, it comes back to bite even harder and it's quickly turning into my favorite song of the year.

I hope this vote of no-confidence is just RCA pulling the plug to make way for the Dua collab, otherwise the rest of this week sucks even harder.

This is really a shame because I think this is the kind of song that would benefit from more airplay. It wouldn't smash but I can see it being one of those songs that hover in the #15 - #35 range on Billboard for months... I felt the same way about the equally betrayed Never Really Over
Thankfully, radio no longer has a monopoly in defining a hit. A song that had a short run on radio can still go down as a hit if its streams hold up. So, fingers crossed Midnight Sky continues to stay afloat there. I still think RCA should do a final push though. Something less ludicrous than the open letter they sent for Britney's Make Me preferrably... Or maybe the fans can organize something.

A -274 is a clear sign that it's time to move on.
Hopefully the Dua collab does better.

Just as I thought I was starting to get burnt on this, it comes back to bite even harder and it's quickly turning into my favorite song of the year. I second this actually. I spun it constantly in August-September, forgot about it for a couple weeks, and now ever since the album was announced (and also those INCREDIBLE performances of Heart of Glass and Zombie--which, holy F**K she ATE), it's been back in my constant rotation.

it's not like the callout scores on hot ac got that much worse. it still has a 61% net positive (granted, is a 7% tumble from last week, but it's still the highest of the currents)

Miley has had a Top 40 career since 2007/2008 I believe. That was 5+ years before Ariana broke out. We’ll see where Ariana is in a few years. I doubt she will continue to get the treatment she had in 2018/2019.

This is probably the worst mistreatment from radio I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching the charts for years.

The last time I was pissed about radio pulling the plug was for Halsey's "You should be sad", but I wasn't nearly as frustrated then as I am now

Do we think that RCA just has crap relationships with radio PD’s? Who was the last RCA artist with a successful radio campaign cycle, not just a one off?
This is absolutely no excuse given all of the factors that we have discussed, but I’m still curious.

RCAand Kemosabe if just RCA i really couldn't think of anybody nowaday? they seem so weak with all the 90's 00's 10's artists but none are fresh faces, and none of the divas are getting no.1 anymore if they somehow screwed Miley Cyrus. what can they do now.

I'm still hearing Midnight Sky a lot on satellite radio. Either way, Miley is so talented and she will keep doing great stuff!

Looking through their rooster on their website, I'd say Chris Brown and Khalid have been their most successful artists at radio in the last few years.
