Congrats to Megan and Cardi. WAP has been my ringtone since it dropped. They probably won't be #1 next week, but that doesn't matter because the most-deserving #1 debut of the year is also the first to spend it's first two weeks at #1. Also, they'll be back in the #1 spot after Dynamite's debut, so. All in all, good top 10 this week. We rarely ever get 3 new entries in a single week. Don't rule out Blackpink just yet but yeah, you're probably right lol

at American Idol alumni still finding more success than The Voice despite much lower ratings now. The Voice is still at 0 successful artists, right? Morgan Wallen is charting higher than Gabby on 8/24/2020, so. Is he from the Voice?

Weeks in the top 10 Blinding Lights 27 Rockstar 17 Roses 12 Whats Poppin 9 Watermelon Sugar 7 Savage Love 4 WAP 2 Laugh Now Cry Later 1 7 Summers 1 I Hope 1 I think it's pretty much confirmed that Blinding Lights will become the 2nd longest running top 10 hit of all time after Circles. The question is if it has enough legs to beat Circles

WAP 640 points Drake's LNCL 595 Using the numbers on BB's article, I have WAP with 59,300 and LNCL with 57,300 points. The gap has to be less than 3k because Wap had a 3k points lead on digital sales (36k vs. 21k) and LNCL has 100 more points on radio (17.1M vs. 16.5M) and it was #1 on streaming (by ~1k points). 59,300 second week is the best for a female led song since LWYMMD's 61,500 in 2017, but that was when it was easier to have huge points (UGC 100% counted and no coronavirus). LNCL's 69.8M streams is the most ever for a song that was not the week's #1 on the Hot 100. The previous record was Fefe's 65.8M in 2018 when it peaked at #3 (Drake and Cardi were in the top 2). EDIT: LWYMMD debuted a week earlier thanks to a radio deal. So... he's kinda right lol. The 61.5k week was its second week for sales/streams.

I'm glad Midnight Sky at least debuted in the top 20.

Prior to 7 Summers, what was the last country song to reach the top 10 without crossing over to pop radio? I don't think it's ever happened, but I could be wrong! On the strength of Country Radio and sales to country fans alone, a song would have a very hard time even breaking the Top 20. Kane Brown, who's relatively massive on streaming for a country artist, has never gone higher than #15.

Levitating couldn't muster enough points for #100.

Prior to 7 Summers, what was the last country song to reach the top 10 without crossing over to pop radio? I think it was Taylor Swift's "Red", which debuted at #6 on the Hot 100 dated October 20 2012. She also did it a week prior, when "Begin Again" debuted at #7.

I think Just A Kiss by Lady Antebellum counts too, that was obviously huge on pop radio but it was a top 10 debut, it had a bit of pop radio at the time but probably would have hit the top 10 anyway without it

LNCL will very likely be #1 the week his album drops Unless another song from his album catches on big.

Prior to 7 Summers, what was the last country song to reach the top 10 without crossing over to pop radio? Most likely Taylor Swift. Luke Combs got close last year when “Even Though I’m Leaving” leaped to #11 after his album release. Really glad to see “7 Summers” debut so high!

The last time multiple Country songs (no feature artist) on top 10 Hot 100? I’m wondering the same thing. This almost never happens. I’m assuming maybe Taylor did it with debuts but who knows.

Also the last time country song by a solo artist Non-Taylor Swift (he he) to debut inside top 10? Was it Carrie Underwood's I'll Stand By You?

Funny how most of Taylor Swift's top 10 country debuts weren't even main singles at the time besides Mine. Beyond that it's Today Was A Fairytale and a couple Fearless & Speak Now era promo singles.

How did 7 Summers debut so high? Not really sure? I had no idea there was so much demand for Morgan Wallen. Really impressive Spotify & AM numbers.

Morgan Wallen was eliminated before the live shows even started on The Voice though. Only hard core viewers will remember he was even on that show (and that Blake Shelton didn't turn his chair for him!). Technically, the first commercially successful The Voice contestant is Melanie Martinez with an album crossing 1M units although yeah no Hot 100 hit.
Gabby was the assumed favorite on Idol and made it to the top 3. And even after she lost, she was still more loved by the Idol producers than the winner as she performed I Hope live on the show last year while the winner Maddie didn't get to do so for her debut album. Even in the past season, AI is bragging about Gabby's success on Country music. She's more identified to Idol than Morgan is on The Voice.
Anyway, both took years after their stint on the show to find mainstream success.

A girl heard a leak of the song and demanded for Morgan Wallen to release it formally. That TikTok went viral. It got released on Friday and all is history.

It has completely changed the game. Maybe this will become the modern version of the delayed CD single release like in the early ‘00s.
