All If the World Was Ending needs is a viral video, maybe a montage of doctors working hard, to get a sales boost and to shoot it straight into the Top 10. I feel it's the new How to Save a Life and even if I don't like the song, it'll be destined to be used in a ton of medical dramas, montages, talent shows, and karaoke nights to come. The Fray baby I'm so sorry

Dynamite sold 182k copies in week 2. I have no idea what any of this means but wow, this is crazy!

Already the best selling single in pure sales(2020), surpassing 'Blinding Lights'.

It's going to come down to WAP's total streams vs Dynamites total sales. Regardless these two songs have actually made the last month interesting.

BTS still threatening for #1 oh I truly hate it here. People have been wishing on that record free fall ... you can’t expect the fans not to feel motivated by that alone to keep the streak going.

The most popular song in the US by a mile, the one that is still pulling in around 60M streams per week, is once again being denied the top spot because idiots that run Billboard are trying to create an alternate reality where it's still 2011.

Last week was the first time ever that a song was #1 despite being outstreamed by more than 30M. This week, WAP is ahead by ~41M streams...

TOTC has WAP at #1 (ahead by 5-10%) Prayer circle!!! Did they update? Because they said either WAP was 5% ahead or 10% below Dynanite.

The tweet said 5% behind WAP, or 10% ahead of WAP, but it was kind of easy to misread. TOTC updated predictions have it at #1 by 3%, still possible for WAP to be #1 but Dynamite appears more likely based on these sales. Also presuming no rule changes are implemented without being announced... like discounted sales being weighed less.

No one is losing out on a #1 - honestly except for 'fans' obsessed with things like year-end charts - it doesn't matter. (Kidding.)
In terms of inclusiveness and equality, one could argue Asian artists have been disproportionately underrepresented on the H100 - so holding at #1 rather than a GOOBA crash is a good thing.
As long as 'Circles' is Drake 'bomb'-proof until week 60, everything else is just details.

Don’t they change the formula to reflect the song that is most popular? I’m pretty sure that BTS fans will be proud even if the song is #2 and if BB really does this, it may very well be.
All of this complaining would then be for nothing.

Well watermelon sugar was #1 without ever cracking the streaming t10 which was a first. And his one week of being in the top 7 in sales was at a much lower level than BTS. So.

Like both songs but with so many rooting against BTS, I want it to repeat.
Within top 10 of streaming, Sales is x8 its closest competitor, still one of the biggest sales week for quite some time.
Hate them or not, I think it's deserved.

Surprised that even with that, it didn't come close to wap

I'm calling 6 total weeks for WAP, really strong streaming numbers like how "The Box" was in Jan 2020, but it will struggle in radio just because of the nature of the song lyrics. Also Drake's album is on the way soon

Is it right to say that billboard is blantantly chasing clout by allowing those stan-driven bundled songs (One person buying 4 copies of multiple versions...) to be NO.1s?

Is it right to say that billboard is blantantly chasing clout by allowing those stan-driven bundled songs (One person buying 4 copies of multiple versions...) to be NO.1s? I wouldn't say they are allowing it on purpose. It was first abused with Say So i believe(having multiple versions on iTunes (clean/explicit/instrumental/without singing lmao).
But it needs to be addressed by BB.
Also, this: paid streaming(which is like 80%) vs sales
Billboard 250 paid streams = 1 sale
RIAA 150 paid streams = 1 sale
Rolling stones 120 paid streams = 1 sale UK chart 100 paid streams = 1 sale
You see what is standing out? Billboard needs to nerf sales by 2. 125 paid streams should be 1 sale, and that would mean 187.5 free streams = 1 sale.

Versions: There are 5 versions of Cardigan on iTunes right now. You can also buy multiple copies of those versions on Taylor’s store.
The last 2 versions of Dynamite were only added for week 2. Is it more of a problem that there are multiple versions or that fans are buying them because I feel like if this strategy was ineffective, this wouldn’t even be a discussion.

Exactly. Billboard just needs to add more weight to paid streaming
