Dynamite had 13-14k orders from the website alone this week. Assuming that the average number of units per transaction is 8, that’s already 112,000 digital sales. 🤭 It’ll be more than that. They’ve been pushing orders of all 24 all day and 4-5 different accounts were distributing funds. It increased even more after somebody leaked a screenshot of Talk of the Charts saying they wouldn’t release predictions so that they didn’t influence the result. TOTC having a beef with a fandom again? they can’t catch a break

At this point I won't be surprised if their record label is actually funding this behind the scenes as well...... I mean it's clearly more effective than radio payola and it would make stans more proud of the chart achievement cuz they r involved in this mass buying event.

It increased even more after somebody leaked a screenshot of Talk of the Charts saying they wouldn’t release predictions so that they didn’t influence the result. TOTC having a beef with a fandom again? they can’t catch a break In our Discord chat (which is casual), I posted a chart of Dynamite's D2C orders for the week and said it might be #2 based on the current trajectory. Then some lurkers in the chat screencapped the chat and posted it on Twitter — all it said was we didn't want to influence the sales for the tracking week, so we were going to post a sales estimate at midnight once the tracking week was over. This created the following viral tweet which caused the stans to start angrily mass-buying to spite us: With 8 sales per order counting (like last week), that would be 120k sales, which is not enough for #1. But this week they were really focused on mass-buying 24 copies in a single order, so it wouldn't be surprising if they had over 10 per order counting, thereby giving them enough sales for #1 yet again.

The Box, Blinding Lights, WAP, Savage and Rockstar (to a lesser extent)Really? I think Rockstar is easily one of the most organic and deserved #1s of the year. It was simply a streaming and later radio monster that never really had any significant bundling or targeted sales campaigns. I mean savage oops because of tiktok (which is what the question is asking), yeah Rockstar is just an organic hit

If TOTC really doesn't want their predictions to engage the mass buying stans (or being seen that way). Then they should probably avoid putting out early projections on twitter or their casual discord channel(which has clearly been invaded by the stans) cuz otherwise stuffs like this would kept on happening unfortunately.

I guess this whole ordeal has me wondering whether the charts are meant to be more to reflect the popularity or actual consumption of music?

tbf, if totc does give their sales projection of dynamite then cardi b’s fans will accuse them of motivating bts stans more; but if they don’t, it will appear like they want bts stans to get complacent so wap can go back to #1.
a mess!

Billboard needs to take notes about this and do something about it. This is worse than whatever Bieber/Ariana/69 did and they called them out for manipulating the charts.

So, that You Broke Me First song is the first Billie Eilish wannabe song. Similar to the wave of Lorde wannabes of the mid 2010s.

Buying music within the guidelines that are set isn’t chart manipulation. Dababy has 8 versions of Rockstar on iTunes right now. Lewis Capaldi has 8 versions of his song on iTunes right now. There are 5 versions of Blinding Lights. Cardigan has 5 versions for sale.
If their massive fanbases decided to buy all versions right now on every platform and also create multiple accounts to do it, pushing those songs to the top, is that chart manipulation or would you praise those sales?

Is there a #1 this year that wasnt driven off high sales, made for an app, bundles, big fan bases, and fraud? Im going to take a wild guess here and assume you think Dynamite it taking 1st again and you’re mad about it... buying music isn’t fraud. Having big fan bases shouldn’t be seen as something negative especially when everything these big fan bases are doing is playing by the rules. All number 1s deserved their number 1s fair and square. None have came from “fraud”. Direct your anger toward Billboard. Not the people playing the game. Um if you scroll up i was indeed happy and proud of them. And even then this wasn’t an angry question pulsemusic.proboards.com/post/7613080

Are both Digitalsalesdata and Kworb/pop not working ? It’s been at least week that they’ve been off DSD seems broken. Kworb/pop seems to have gotten a bad most recent update. I suggest you try the Popvortex songs chart.

Roddy Ricch and Megan had their first 2 number ones be a organic and natural hit. Blinding Lights and Circles can also join the club as well even if the ladder is more 2019 driven

Just got around to listening Dynamite, and it sounds a lot like those songs from Disney Channel movies (not High School Musical, more like Descendants or Zombies).
