The Interrupters go out with lit kerosene at #5.
I was really hoping for a ska revival as this song came out of nowhere and dominated the alternative chart in 2018 by peaking at #4, but nothing otherwise came out of it.

This is the last reveal where no one loses their #1. One Top 5 is lost here however as we move up 12 points.

Rancid leaves us at #4. I expected this to rank high up there as one of the more well-known ska bands over the last 25 years.
This may be the first ska song that I ever heard as it came out around the time that I really started getting into music in 1995.
They’re never going to be in my top 50 favorite artists of all-time list, but I really respect them for paving the way for many bands in the punk/ska scene to come in future years.

We’re getting closer to #1 as we move up nine points to #3. I already mentioned that every reveal from here loses at least one person’s #1. One person does here.
That means five of you could possibly have your #1 finish at #1. Time to get nervous… or excited?

I am the one who loses my #1 here as Reel Big Fish couldn’t rise above the remaining two ranks to hit #1.
This song was my introduction to Reel Big Fish and I can likely say that they are one of my Top 10 favorite artists of all-time. At least Top 15.
I have seen them live at least ten times and they absolutely never disappoint. Their shows are worth every freaking penny spent as they are so much damn fun.

Considering how little "Our House" sounds like ska it'd be freaking hilarious of the winner of the ska rankdown was the least ska-sounding song on the list.

”Our House” ends up at #2 and finishes nine points higher than Reel Big Fish.
I would have never thought of Madness as much of a ska band until I looked up the list that I used on this rankdown from Ranker, but I can definitely hear indications of it in this song.
I haven’t dug much into their discography, but apparently this isn’t the only ska-related song they’ve ever done. I need to listen to them more. Great #2 though. This song is an absolute classic.

By probably not much of a surprise, “The Impression That I Get” finishes at #1. 34 points higher than “Our House.”
This song was a massive reason for to be heard ska in the mainstream in the 90’s and certainly one of the most known songs in this rankdown.
The album that this song is on called “Let’s Face It” is one that I’d recommend as one of my favorites in the ska scene. The Bosstones had some other decent-sized hits, but nothing compared to this one. This was everywhere in the Summer of 1997.
Congrats to macattack, janinho, and Daryl the Beryl as your #1 is the SKAtastic SKAdown winner!

*plays "The Impression That I Get" in celebration*. I debated knocking on wood for this one, ironically enough, but I decided not to. The song is a bona-fide, timeless classic. I never get tired of it.
"Our House" deserves credit where credit is due though. Definitely an 80's highlight and extremely catchy.

I hope that you had a SKAtastic time in the SKAtastic SKAdown! Thank you very much to the nine of you that participated. I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and send in your lists.
This was quite a fun one for me to host and work on. It's a genre that I have not paid a ton of attention to in a long time, but was a big part of my musical past.
If this got you to appreciate ska more and check out some of the artists in this rankdown, that's amazing. Please let me know if you do!
Before I create this post, I have to plug my Forgotten 90's and 2000's Alt Rankdown Pt. 3 that is due at this point on next Friday January 8th. Please send in a list if you're interested.
