This is likely the song being released. I do like it and I know this snippet isn’t finished but this doesn’t scream #1 smash imo. youtu.be/dnHiS54Un38

Ed could do a "Someone You Loved" but Capaldi could not do a "Castle on the Hill" so... More specifically Ed could do a Someone You Loved and actually sing it well instead of screaming

Another #1 debut? If there's no merch attached, nope Travis has never had merch attached to his singles, neither was that allowed for the Hot 100. It's always just been physical singles + digital single.

Didn't it take Dance Monkey months to crossover? "Dance Monkey" entered Top 20 on the Hot 100 on the issue dated November 30, which tracked the week ending November 21. At that point, "Dance Monkey" was in the middle of its 11-week run at #1 in the UK, and had been #1 since August in Australia. Then, it cracked the Top 10 right before the year ended (while it continued to reign elsewhere) but got kicked out because ~ christmas~ and came back in January. "Head & Heart" hit #1 in the UK at the end of July and hasn't even entered Hot 100 yet so I'd argue "Dance Monkey" crossed over much easier. If you consider release dates too, though, then "Dance Monkey" had been out for like 7 months before hitting Top 10 in the US so that's a different story. We'll have to wait and see how "Head & Heart" performs first.

lol, nothing new for BTS.
They can release 20 more versions, but they can't force the song to become a big hit.

Anyways, Billboard fix ur sh*t. Stop trying to down weight streaming and address the real problem which is sales, it's getting out of hand.

Wow, I had no idea YouTube had fallen off so much as a factor. Looking at the view totals for some recent #1s, they are nothing like songs were getting just a year or two ago. These songs aren't even near 500 million views. What happened?

It won't be long when they release even more remixes that are suitable to listen to during a sunset/sunrise

These songs aren't even near 500 million views. What happened? People in English-speaking countries use Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon Music/etc primarily now. A few years ago people preferred YouTube because they weren't paying for streaming, and it was the best option to listen to music for free. YouTube is still big in countries like India and Latin America where the majority of the populations won't pay for streaming or can't afford to.

Label really desperate to get first Certified Hit in US. BTS has penetrated on almost on all the biggest music market on global scale. Imagine it's 2025, BTS is mainstream name in US (like drake, taylor).

What happened? people moving to streaming platforms like Spotify or AM was I thought, but in reality their streaming numbers haven't increased much since 2018. I think it's exclusive youtube music videos that's taking away the views, because the audio versions and the youtube music versions are splitting the pie. Take a look at Blinding Light's 3 official videos

There were so many bundles for The Scotts, I mean you could get a Nerf gun with a copy of The Scotts This is NOT true like I said. Yes there were lots of merchandise available alongside the release of The Scotts, but none of it was bundled with a digital single of The Scotts. Do I need to show you my email of my purchase to show you that the t-shirt I purchased did not have a digital copy included?

In 2017, several Youtube music videos have over a billion views. Right now it seems the only video that hit a billion views is Life Is Good and it took about 9 months to reach that. I think it's time for artists to post videos on Spotify to get bigger promotion.

YouTube is still big in countries like India and Latin America where the majority of the populations won't pay for streaming or can't afford to.
