It’s hard to believe (or stomach really) that a song like this might not make it because of someone’s gender or age. Well “Midnight Sky” failed for that exact reason You may want to emotionally prepare for the worst

I still have a slight feeling that this is going to get bigger on pop in the next week or so

I revisited the album with a lot more time to digest it and think about all the tracks today and while I still really like this, it's very clear to me that name recognition is the main reason this is a single. It pales in comparison to the title track, ALY or even MS.
Still a great song on it's own, the album is just packed.

This needs to either pick up ASAP or die off for ALY.

I agree with Choco. The LP has so many bangers on it that this clearly isn’t as good, even though it’s still a solid track. The title track, ALY, Night Crawling, Gimme What I Want...it’s a stacked record

Miley can't get radio support in 2021. Its a shame because this is a good song.

They can't be serious. This is showing promise on other metrics. They don't even have new songs to play at the moment and Prisoner only had like 4 weeks of airplay before the freeze. They've barely played it... Ugh
Anyway, I never liked this or believed in it so if it doesn't rebound by next week, they should move on to ALY or PH

Moves back up to #67 (was #81 last week) on its 6th week on the charts
Funnily and sadly enough, Midnight Sky also reentered at #81 on the Hot 100 which is just a testament to how radio literally fucked up

“Angels Like You” is #190 on Apple Music. Hope the label gets the hint.

Its a shame because this is a good song. gghunt.utasites.cloud/charts/miley_cyrus.htmHer last top 10 (and #1!) was Wrecking Ball over 7 years ago, since then she has scored few minor/decent hits and some flops in there. She's still young but old as a hitmaker like since 2007/2008 so my theory is she may be "old news" even if she did well in streaming/sales. Taylor Swift has been around since 2007 as well tho experiencing a gradual decline going from Me! - Cardigan/Willow but she has bigger pop radio history.

People on comment sections still bring up her VMA performance. I just think her peak antics were too poorly received by some people for them to move on. She's still the twerking girl to them.
And let's be real, following her biggest pop culture moment with that Dead Petz thing was always going to halt her momentum.

This looks like it may hang on for a bit?? It gained some AI, barely dropped in spins and received a decent amount of adds. I can't it imagine it smashing but I still it think it has a bit more time..

And let's be real, following her biggest pop culture moment with that Dead Petz thing was always going to halt her momentum. I wouldn't say that it was only how they were received, a part of it was just that she couldn't capture attention again to follow up on it. When an artist has had a positive image progression, it generally comes at some kind of intersection of good press, increased intrigue, enough commercial success, and visibility. That never really happened for her. To her credit, she has been able to maintain name recognition. I think because this board puts a premium on female pop artists, she seemed to be notably bigger than the actual statistics show over the years. She's a very well known celebrity, and more famous than some acts who've had more hits than her (like Jason Derulo), but that's not the same thing.

She doesn't do herself favors when her latest news is decorating her home with 'toys,' which has been covered by multiple mainstream outlets. She keep the tongue and ick factor active, which completely undermines her artistic strides. The 'Backyard Sessions' have been a huge, positive revelation, but these unforced PR errors simply wipe that away.

To be fair she did a way more restrained image with "Malibu" and that whole project but still got a big meh from audiences. I do think her current image and sound is the most authentic she's been in her career. She's clearly not the pristine pop starlet of her "7 things" days but she's also not the mess of the Dead Petz era.

This is honestly my favorite song on the pop format, I'm definitely going to make some time to check out 'Plastic Hearts' after hearing both this and "Midnight Sky".

It's a combination of her image like KeepDeanWeird said and not having a CHR top 10 for many years. "Angels Like You" will likely have the same fate. I think the only way to score a radio hit is by featuring or releasing an undeniable hit so radio is "forced" to send it to the top like Sia did.
