at this point just ban digital sales or AT LEAST (and more realistically) website sales this should not be happening and billboard is losing it’s credibility every second I don’t think they should ban physical sales, but I’m kind of convinced that the websites count more than whatever the cap is on amount of sales one can purchase. Also wtf are people doing with the extra copies of digital singles because the last time I’ve checked, they don’t have nutritional value.

I believe it is 4, but at least it was explainable with BTS in how they could easily do this for an extended period given the 10 different versions. One person can completely within the rules get 40 copies of the song on the website alone in one week.

I think billboard should ban bts as a whole. Their fans will never stop mass buying, it’s getting ridiculous. Banning BTS wouldn't stop Trollz, Highest In the Room, Stick With U and Watermelon Sugar, and now Franchise. Digital sales really need to be lowered in the formula. Why would billboard ban bts when they get a lot of clicks and traction to their site because of the stans and the chart watchers/critics. If it was someone like 6ix9ine getting that bts attention then they might’ve either leave it as it is and treat him like everyone else or ban him

I'd like to add UGC, but since I don't have the data it's just "official" streams. Also, I removed Billboard's paid/free streaming tiers, downweighted sales, radio and programmed streams and upweighted on-demand streaming. Or you can search for an artist and see the streams in the past 7 days. Example: this is for Pop Smoke (this is till 3 Oct). The only problem is you don't know the UGC percentage (maybe that is what you meant ). Also i like the bolded part. The formula hasn't represented popularity based on revenue in a long time. So what is the difference between a paid and a free stream. A person still has to commit 3 minutes to listen to the song, it's the same for both users. The difference between a paid user and free user is what Spotify provides as user experience (no ads or whatever).

The difference between a paid user and free user is what Spotify provides as user experience (no ads or whatever). That number on YT Charts isn't official. Last year when UGC was 100% counted I was using a higher number of streams (~130%) than what's reported on YT Charts. This year after they removed non-song UGC, I had to count a lower number of streams (~50%). I could try to estimate the numbers, but I'm lazy. I'd probably count song-UGC as on-demand and non-song UGC in a much lower tier (maybe 1 song-UGC stream = 3 or 4 non-song UGC streams).

Franchise going number 1 was a shock, I mean I like the song so I ain't complaining even if it joins the club of 2020's inflated one week #1's, hopefully its more stable chart wise in the following weeks than other songs

to hell with billboard, Pulse predictors and people who understand math should make their own sister chart to billboard with sales significantly weakened (and streams stronger) and post it here! It would be more accurate than whatever BB is doing, I guarantee they aren't changing anything with those bts stan clicks Well... I do this every week, but I have never posted it here. I don't count website sales and I'd like to add UGC, but since I don't have the data it's just "official" streams. Also, I removed Billboard's paid/free streaming tiers, downweighted sales, radio and programmed streams and upweighted on-demand streaming. LAST WEEK - OCTOBER 3 This week's Real Hot 100:
*** no website sales
Formula: sales/10 + radio/7,500 + on-demand streams/1,200 + programmed streams/3,000
Sales 3% + Radio 30% + Streaming 67%1. WAP 2. Holy 3. Laugh Now Cry Later 4. Mood 5. ROCKSTAR 6. Blinding Lights 7. Watermelon Sugar 8. WHATS POPPIN 9. For The Night 10. Savage Love 11. I Hope 12. Before You Go 13. Dynamite 14. Lemonade 15. POPSTAR 16. Go Crazy 17. Mood Swings 18. Roses 19. Come & Go 20. Said Sum THIS WEEK - OCTOBER 10 (Less accurate since I don't have the official sales/streaming numbers) This week's Real Hot 100:
*** no website sales
Formula: sales/10 + radio/7,500 + on-demand streams/1,200 + programmed streams/3,000
Sales 3% + Radio 31% + Streaming 66%1. WAP 2. Laugh Now Cry Later 3. Mood 4. ROCKSTAR 5. Blinding Lights 6. For The Night 7. Savage Love 8. FRANCHISE 9. Watermelon Sugar 10. WHATS POPPIN 11. I Hope 12. Lemonade 13. Holy 14. Before You Go 15. Go Crazy 16. Dynamite 17. Come & Go 18. POPSTAR 19. Mood Swings 20. Got What I Got **Circles is recurrent since last week because I use 20/52 instead of 25/52 for recurrency. this is great! definitely feels like a better indicator of what is actually the most popular song in the nation

Not a single Joji entry? I swear if he goes number 1 bubbling under again It's certainly possible that something from Nectar charted, but I haven't seen anything confirmed yet They most likely got all the new entries from the artists' chart history, something which Joji doesn't have. So there's a good chance something charted.

I'm conflicted
On one hand, this shows yet again how rigged Billboard can be with sales that absolutely no one predicted FRANCHISE would debut at number one and that the biggest song in the country is behind at #3 because of sales.
On the other hand...
M.I.A. HAS A NUMBER ONE SINGLE

Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams' Surges to Biggest Streaming Week Ever After Viral TikTok Video By Keith Caulfield10/5/2020 www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9460805/fleetwood-mac-dream-biggest-streaming-week-ever-viral-tiktok-video/Courtesy of buzz generated by a gone-viral TikTok video, Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” has captured its largest streaming week ever. Following the rise of the video’s popularity, the classic 1977 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit garnered 8.47 million on-demand streams in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 1, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. That sum is up 125% compared to the previous week (3.76 million). Previously, "Dreams'" best streaming week came in the week ending Sept. 10, with 3.83 million clicks. The TikTok video in question has “Dreams” soundtracking a man in a hoodie (Nathan Apodaca) seemingly being pulled on a skateboard, as he drinks from a bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice and sings along with Stevie Nicks’ lead vocal. The video became so popular, it moved the band’s own Mick Fleetwood to recreate the clip. “Dreams” also sold 7,000 downloads in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 1 (up 584%) – its best sales week since the week ending July 24, 2011, when it sold 9,000. “Dreams” makes moves on the Billboard charts (dated Oct. 10), too, as it re-enters at a new peak of No. 9 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, climbs 19-1 on Rock Digital Song Sales, and rises 7-3 on Rock Streaming Songs. (Billboard's charts dated Oct. 10 will refresh to Billboard's websites on Oct. 6.) The cut also impressively enters at No. 36 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart, a list which is normally crowded with current hip-hop and pop tracks. On the Billboard Global 200 chart, which ranks the most popular songs around the world, “Dreams” debuts at No. 51. On the Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S. tally, it bows at No. 161. “Dreams” was first released on the album Rumours, which was issued in 1977 and spent 31 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Rumours also surges up Billboard’s lists, as it rebounds 47-27 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking the first time it’s been in the top 40 since early 2013. The set earned 19,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 1 (up 56%). The album also inches up 33-29 on the Album Sales chart with 4,000 copies sold (up 45%). “Dreams” is also featured on the band’s Greatest Hits album, which jumps 169-103 on the Billboard 200 (9,000 units; up 35%) and moves 50-46 on Album Sales (3,000 sold; up 45%). And finally, the new album The Alternate Rumours – released Sept. 26 exclusively on vinyl the latest Record Store Day Drop – enters the Billboard 200 at No. 165 (7,000 units – all from album sales). It also debuts at No. 12 on Album Sales and No. 6 on Vinyl Albums. The release presents an alternate view of the classic album, with different takes of the album’s tracklist subbing in for the original album versions.

Did any one noticed that Billboard somehow managed to be self counter-intuitive with their three charts?
Global 200: WAP#1 Dynamite#2 Global 200 excl. US: WAP#4 Dynamite#1
So does that mean WAP is ahead of Dynamite in the Billboard 100? Nope
Billboard is becoming a fliping joke of a chart.
