Incubus grabs a 6th week at #1. Expect them to get at least a couple more before Blink-182 or Hoobastank takes over. Lostprophets and 311 don't look like they'll last long enough to make it at this point, but who knows.
AFI lose their bullet, but climb 11-9, giving them their second top 10 from this album.
Three Days Grace finally see a bigger spin loss.
Linkin Park is down two without a bullet. Who knows what could happen though. "I Am The Highway" lost spins around #30 only to end up peaking in the top 3.
Puddle of Mudd's latest isn't doing that well either. Next week it should move up to #16 without a problem, but it might not get much farther than that.
Switchfoot hangs on at #20, making this their 35th week in the top 50.
Looks like Yellowcard will be stuck with a #21 peak. :(
I heard a few songs off Phantom Planet's new album yesterday, including "Big Brat". I liked the old Phantom Planet sound better.
Hoobastank and Puddle of Mudd go recurrent this week.
Assuming things don't change by the final update, Staind's chart run for the past several weeks:
10-14-21-25-38-46-44
"45" went for adds October 3rd and didn't make the top 50 until last week. That has to be some kind of record.
Debuting this week are Switchfoot, Modest Mouse, N.E.R.D. and the Stills.

I think Hoobastank will be the next # 1. Although it will be weird that "The Reason" makes # 1 while the much better "Crawling In The Dark" and "Running Away" couldn't.
There aren't a whole lot of songs gaining much. Only one songs is over +150. What will be the next big single at Alternative?

I agree that stuff like "Crawling In The Dark" is much better than "The Reason", even though it's going to be the next #1, easily. Which is a shame for blink, because they really deserved to not be stuck behind at #2 on the chart, which has always happened to them. But this time it's two singles in a row from the same album.
I am glad about Modest Mouse debuting, although it's not as good as what I heard from the last album. They should have been accepted to the format all the way back when The Moon & Antarctica was released... I still really love "Tiny Cities Made of Ashes".
Wow, POM are doing much worse on the charts this time around. They go from all 4 singles going top 5, to one that barely even does that, and one that might not even go top 10.
I'm glad to see that "Reptilia" will be peaking higher than "Hard To Explain" did. Lo-Pro are too generic for my liking, and Limp Bizkit should have dropped sooner, becuz it's a real old song by now.
That's great to hear about Linkin Park... their songs are usually the greatest gainer, and then never go away. Maybe people are finally exposed enough that they're tired of LP by now.. But apparently, they are not yet sick of Trapt.. I'm so endlessly sick of this recent pop-metal..
The funny thing is that you mention Switchfoot as a debut, and "Meant To Live" charted way after its adds date in late Janary or so.
It looks like Muse might actually debut next week.

You have to remember that "Lying From You" has been getting semi-moderate airplay since April 2003. I don't think it ever dropped below Top 80 for an extended period, so I can kind of understand if the song doesn't rocket to the top. Especially with the next single coming in a couple of weeks.

Modest Mouse debuted. :o I so did not expect that.
After the Postal Service almost entered the chart and then fell down, they're back up again thanks to Los Angeles who bumped them up a lot. And now they have a bigger audience impression than all of the #37-50 songs on mediabase even though they're currently at #51. They need to get on, at least for one week.
Why is that Hoobastank song going to #1 on the Alternative chart????? It's such a generic Hot AC song if I ever heard one. It sounds like something you'd expect from Pay the Girl/Stereofuse/VonRay.
