If you were following this one the drops are not surprising. It was already dead and they clearly threw some money/promo/whatever on it to get that day at #1.

It's been quite common on radio for 4 or 5 years now. Demi Lovato's Sorry Not Sorry and Taylor's Look What You Made Me Do are some of the earliest examples I can think of. Prior to that this was only a common thing on Country radio.
