Reality Show Country Singers Thread

As I am looking at that we have Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Josh Gracin and others well-known artists that released new music. I think we should look at others since they may not be in the same lime-light yet.





Sundance Head, who won Season 11 of The Voice, got himself a top 10 hit on the Texas charts recently with "Not Give A Damn." He is signed on Dean Dillon's Wildcatter Records. Sundance is the son of Roy Head who was also did country. Roy is best remembered as the blueeye soul singer of "Treat Her Right." Sadly, Roy died in September of this year. At least he got to see his son winning The Voice and got a hit on the Texas charts.

Christopher King is a country singer from Ireland. He sang this Keith Whitley's hit on Ireland Got Talent and got the Golden Buzzer. With him singing this song, you can't tell he is from Ireland.

Sad news out of Season 1 American Idol, Nikki McKibbin died at the age of 42. She finished 3rd behind Kelly Clarkson.

Jimmie Allen was also on Idol. I think he made Top 48. He was on the same season as Scotty & Lauren. There's articles about him becoming friends with both of them from Idol.

Mickey Guyton was also on American Idol though I don’t think they ever showed her singing.

Hillary Scott tried out for American Idol, and got rejected before she went to be in front of Simon, Paula and Randy. She got the last laugh being part of Lady A.

American Idol contestant, Laci Kaye Booth's father is Texas country singer Jody Booth. Jody Booth is on the Texas charts with Tracy Byrd on "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean."

Curtis Grimes appeared on The Voice in 2011. This song hit number 1 on the Texas chart. The song reminds me of Alan Jackson's Little Bit. The song is about a father's little girl. The song is number 5 on my top 100 songs.

Bri appeared on CMT's Next Superstar in 2011. Bri released this single to country radio nationally after hitting number 1 on the Texas charts.

Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert both got their starts on Nashville Star.

Chevel Shepherd, winner of season 15 of The Voice recently released a video for one of the songs on her EP. 'Just Like The Circus' was written by Kacey Musgraves, Shane McAnally, and Ashley Arrison.





She also recently released a Christmas album, featuring songs from the likes of Bill Monroe and Loretta Lynn.
