I hate this one. Sucks that they’re sleeping on “Some Things You Don’t Forget”

Very okay song, guitar production is great, but chorus part could have been better. Got What I Got was okay, too. At least listenable compared with We Back, Rearview Town, and Girl Like You. Wish any of Champagne Town, Camouflage Hat, or Came Here To Drink was chosen. (CHTD has similar vibe to GWIG, so make sense that it wasn’t chosen) So yeah, not a good choice, if not terrible.

This is an ok choice. I was hoping for "I Don't Drink Anymore", but I think this will be another hit for him. I don't see it being all that impactful and memorable in the long run, but it should keep his radio streak going.

"We Back" was terrible, "Got What I Got" was mediocre, and this one is halfway tolerable so... at least he's improving with each single this era? Still, he continues to be incredibly bland as an artist.

Still, he continues to be incredibly bland as an artist. Anything would have been an improvement from “We Back” but to me this is a step down from “Got What I Got” which, while not a fav of mine, had a fairly strong melody despite awful production. This is just... so bad. Might do well on radio and might have been a ‘good’ choice, but I’m really disappointed lol. This album and era ain’t it for me that’s for sure.

Anything would have been an improvement from “We Back” but to me this is a step down from “Got What I Got”. I actually am really liking this...go figure! I'm not one to usually comment in a singles thread, but I randomly heard this song the other week and found myself rather intrigued. I still couldn't really make it out from anything else he's released as of late which is to say most of what he's releasing these days is all blending together. That said, I'm enjoying this one quite a bit and have had it on repeat these past few days already.

Okay, at least I enjoyed the music video, unlike previous singles from 9. I mean even if We Back had an amazing music video, I couldn't have gone through the entire song.

I don't think I've ever seen a Jason Aldean music video where I thought 'that was worth wasting my time on.'

I have not heard this song on my top local station and they always play his songs to death. I am completely baffled.

It’s a little odd radio has slow played this one so much. I know it’s not lighting up sales/streams, but it’s a radio friendly song from him that’s following up a gigantic hit. That being said, I’m still confident this will peak at #1 eventually on at least 1 of the charts as I suspect the testing numbers will be strong. After that I’d imagine we will get a new lead single in the Fall.

This feels like another fairly low-impact single for him.

Debut at #97 on Hot 100 this week. Performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live: This performance was so abysmal. Really showcases how bad this song is instrumentally. All that performance consisted of was obnoxiously loud electric guitars playing very little in the way of melody. I generally like more of Jason's material than I dislike, but this song is a total miss for me. As is most of this album. "Some Things You Don't Forget" is excellent, but that is never going to see the light of day apparently.

If they release another single I would love “Came Here to Drink” but I would think they would go with something more upbeat. “Keeping it Small Town”, “Camouflage Hat”, and “Dirt We Were Raised On” are my picks. I remember something about “Cowboy Killer” I think being his or his wife’s favorite so that could be a possibility. By the time this one peaks though do any of you think there will be something brand new from a new album released? November would be his usual album cycle every two years right?

I definitely think the next single will be a brand new song. The singles have climbed pretty slow this era relative to Jason’s past chart performances.

You know, go from regularly releasing albums way more often than anyone was asking for to just never releasing another album again

I really can’t place my finger on it, but his sound is so bleh now. It’s almost amateur sounding and nearly every song has the same aura. Listening to songs off his first two or three albums and hearing the rich instrumentation is so refreshing compared to the dark lonely rock sound he uses now.
Basically everything after his Night Train album has sounded this way. Anybody else know what I mean?

As someone who is generally a fan of his output, I agree with this and know exactly what you mean. I still probably like more from him than y'all do, but Night Train was the last album from him that I've genuinely enjoyed from start to finish.

Ok, this I’m excited for and cautiously optimistic about! I hope it’s a really heavy country rocker!!
