It’s so weird to me that Cole Swindell is getting his first YE hit this year. I could have sworn he had at least one in the mid-2010s when bro-country was at its peak, but I guess he just never got there until now. Shame it’s with perhaps the most mid single of a rather inconsistent career thus far.

idk why you consider that a madonna song when she is the not artist who performs it, has zero writing credits on the song and has absolutely nothing to do with it becoming popular besides being dua's inspiration as an artist LMAO "Old Town Road is the #1 song of 2019, I consider that a Johnny Cash song." "Following that Sunflower is the #2 song of 2019, I consider that a Vincent Van Gogh song as he brought sunflowers into the public consciousness. He was born in the 1800's so he got a top 10 hit of the year at age 146!!!" Because of the remix that features Madonna and Missy Elliott. There isn't a remix of Sunflower that features Vincent Van Gogh, is there? Or even Theo, or Johanna Bogner, or Vincent IV (though he could've helped with Don McLean's Vincent in 1972.), or any of his kids.

Yeah, Shivers and Thats What I Want should be solid contenders for 2022 since it’s too late for them to make 2021 as it is. I’d even throw in Cold Heart (already a pretty big international hit) and Have Mercy (has good staying power on streaming, radio might get on board soon).

Wow it looks like Rumors really will miss the year end, it's been falling every day on radio. I really thought it was an obvious sounding "hit" but I guess not

Now I'm confident in this, barring Butter getting another week at 1, Good 4 U and Kiss Me More should pass Peaches next week.

There's actually a slight chance that Heat Waves passes Forever After All as the top song to not make the top 10. Although there's also a large chance that Heat Waves gets up to like #10 or #9 and knocks itself out of contention

It's interesting to see how huge point wise Mood was in December 2020 that those couple extra weeks got it to No. 4 in Billboard's chart year (Dec-Nov), while it's at the bottom of the Top 10 in a regular Jan-Dec chart year.

This YE will end the streaks of Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Khalid, Selena Gomez, J. Balvin, Camila Cabello, Juice WRLD, Halsey, Swae Lee and most likely, Morgan Wallen. Am I missing anyone or is someone on here that shouldn’t be? Wild with Morgan Wallen considering this is his biggest year with Dangerous Kind of like 2020 breaking Taylor’s streak despite it feeling like her biggest year since 2016

The week it had at #2 isn't included in this year's year end hot 100. In 2019 5 Seconds Of Summer's "Youngblood" was the highest song on the year end list that didn't make the top 10 with a run of 12-12-12-14-22-20-24-14-16-16-17-21-23-34-26-31-30-33-33-32-40-43-47-50-50 but the previous year it had like seven or eight weeks in the top 10.

What do "Happier Than Ever", "Family Ties", "Take My Breath", and "Hurricane" need to average in the remaining weeks to clinch spots? (if they even can)

Am I missing anyone or is someone on here that shouldn’t be? Hopefully Travis Scott. If so that would make the 5 longest streaks Drake - 13 years Ariana Grande - 9 years Justin Bieber - 7 years Young Thug - 6 years Maroon 5, Cardi B, Luke Combs - 5 years (imagine if Don't Wanna Know made 2016...)

Yes it was but that #2 peak is counted for the 2020 Chart Year, but a different peak for the 2021 Chart Year I don't think that matters, realistically My Ex's Best Friend or Heartbreak Anniversary will be the highest-ranking song on the YE without reaching the Top 10

(if they even can) HTE: 96 points TMB: 98 points Hurricane: 154 points These would be the average # of points they’d need to at the very least pass Goosebumps. Not certain about Family Ties, but it probably needs roughly about the same as Hurricane.

Is it too early to think that Love Again will get caught in between years? at this point it needs sudden virality or a mimic of kings & queens chart run to clench a spot next year

I think Love Again’s best chance is the 2021 Year End. It’s just about peaked on radio, as Dua’s team will probably let go of this one and focus on pushing Cold Heart.

Cold Heart has really grown on me a lot and the growth it's seeing on radio and streaming makes me hope it becomes a sleeper hit and makes it to the 2022 list

I think we’re at the point where we could tell what will get caught and not make the YE and I think Love Again is one of the biggest contenders in that category.

My original prediction back in like July when Love Again first charted was a peak in the 20-30 range, around 20-25 weeks and ultimately caught between years. Idk it just gave that "caught between years" vibe. We'll see how things end up with it (though I would LOVE if it could make a year end list)

Cold Heart is a late bloomer that will peak some time in the first half of 2022, and linger around very deep into 2022, and possibly even early 2023. I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being the last survivor of all the hits that charted with Blinding Lights.
