^I definitely think Butter's going to be #1 in Digital Song Sales since all its sales so far will count toward this year-end. Levitating should be in the top 3 for both Radio Songs and Streaming Songs because it would have charted the most weeks counting toward the year-end.

Looked at Fair Trade's run so far and I think it's about 76-77k uncluding this most recent week which means with 7 weeks left it needs to fall really slowly & average at least 12k. Girls Want Girls is only a bit higher & probably needs at least 11.5k per week to make it. So I think we can assume these will both miss unless things go really unexpectedly

Yes, Butter will definitely be #1 in Digital Sales by far. Radio I think maybe Leave the Door Open, or Levitating, like as you said it will have charted most of the year. For the same reasons, songs like Levitating, Save Your Tears, or even Blinding Lights could be #1 in Streaming, even though they were never #1 weekly and didn't have any huge individual weeks. Or it could go to songs that had huge weeks at #1, like Driver's License, but didn't spend the most weeks on the chart total, but I think it's been hard to guage this year and I haven't really been following that too closely.

there's no way levitating isn't #1 for radio. it was a top ten radio hit basically twice, one of those runs spending 7 weeks at #1 and is still top 5 right now.

I think “good 4 u” will end up in the January/December top 3.
I think the top 10 there will be:
1. Levitating 2. Save Your Tears 3. good 4 u 4. Kiss Me More 5. Leave the Door Open 6. drivers licence 7. MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) 8. Blinding Lights 9. Butter 10. Peaches

I'm pretty sure Levitating is pretty close to passing positions for the #1 song of the year on pop radio, it'll likely be #1 on overall radio for the year as well since it had two different runs in the top 10 and spent 7 weeks at #1. Streaming songs #1 will probably be Save Your Tears?

If Adele’s rumored lead single does come out this Friday, is it possible it could pull a Hello and make the YE with only 5 tracking weeks left at that point? I know I would prefer to see that make it over most of the potential candidates for #100 like DBTGA, Goosebumps, and Waves.

^We'll see if lightning can strike twice. There's definitely a lot of pent up demand for Adele. But music consumption has changed a lot in the almost six years since Hello was released. I guess we'll see. For one, I'm also excited about the possibility of it happening.

I think Adele could do 500k in digital sales because her audience skews a little older than the streaming generation, although she'll still have a strong start on streaming because she's so huge. But 500k is probably the cap for digital sales honestly, that 1.1 million Hello did is all but a dream now.

^Another thing that has also been recently depressed are YouTube video views. Hello's video got 35.8 million views out of the 61.6 million streams it got during its debut week. It also got 18.7 million weekly Spotify streams.

It also got 18.7 million weekly Spotify streams. Was that 18.7 million for the U.S., or global? If just the U.S., that sounds like a lot for 2015, even for Adele, but at any rate audio streams are much higher now than video streams, so that should make up for some of the loss in YouTube views.

^That was only for the US alone. For WW Spotify it was streamed 47.5 million times that week, which became a record then.
I do agree that streaming numbers would accommodate themselves among the platforms available now. Obviously, it shouldn't be able to chart as nowhere near as strongly as Hello during its Hot 100 debut week as it did on Radio Songs (it actually rose 47-9 there, with 73 million audience) due to the change in the tracking week and reduced radio audiences.

It looks like Olivia should manage to have four songs in the top 40. Quite a big win for her.

there's a chance Wockesha breaks the record for highest ever finish without a week in the top 30. Although it might also actually notch a week there if the charts don't strengthen

I saw a prediction for the 10/09 chart that had Wockesha gaining a lot this week...like top 20 gaining... idk why? But I could see it hitting the top 30 if some of that is true

So with Adele’s release date for Easy On Me confirmed to be October 15th (impacting the 10/30 chart), there’s now a very real chance she could pull off another Hello and make the YE in the last 3 weeks of the tracking year. And if you doubt that will happen because music consumption has changed dramatically since 2015, keep in mind that Drivers License passed the now-expected 2021 points cutoff in its first 3 weeks, so I think it’s very much possible.

My current and predictive Top 100 of the Year lists based on the October 9, 2021 chart: Montero passes Butter. Who had that in the pool? Not me. Peaches will be out of season shortly. Had to use that pun. Sorry (not sorry). Next week will likely see Save Your Tears leapfrog to #2 on the year.
I used to think 1600 might be high as the cutoff point, but it looks like it will be close. I doubt either My Universe and certainly not the upcoming Adele single will have enough time to break into the top 100 this year.
Here are my current estimates for final year-end positions, based on all songs keeping 95% of their current points in the last 5 weeks of the year. Est. Year end | Song | Artist | YE Est Pts | 1 | Levitating | Dua Lipa | 11492 | 2 | Save Your Tears | The Weeknd & Ariana Grande | 9107 | 3 | Mood | 24kGoldn ft. iann dior | 8484 | 4 | Blinding Lights | The Weeknd | 8427 | 5 | Leave The Door Open | Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak) | 7309 | 6 | Good 4 U | Olivia Rodrigo | 7077 | 7 | Drivers License | Olivia Rodrigo | 6936 | 8 | Kiss Me More | Doja Cat ft. Happier Then Ever would make such a great #100. Imagine listening to the year end list in full and THAT'S how it ends That’s how I felt about Perfect in 2016! Perfect was good but there were 6 songs from 101-110 that were better :'( man that year just went so wrong in so many ways

Ed released the song way too late for it to make that YE, but it did end up as the #2 hit of 2018, and one of the biggest global hits ever.
