And I’m very happy that Todo De Ti managed to make it, that song is such a bop and deserves to be remembered as a YE hit.

This might be the single most accurate set of predictions we’ve had on this site (and with Billboard privatizing their data, it probably won’t be more accurate than this going forward). To analyze Austin’s predictions:

Correctly positioned: 73/100
Within 1 position: 24/100
Within 2 positions: 3/100
Songs that made the official list: 99/100
Overall accuracy: 99.7% by position, 99% by overall song

No songs were more than 2 positions off from their projection, and nearly 3/4 of the list was in the exact position it was expected. This includes the entire top 13, 21-41 and 57-76. And the one song that missed the actual list was the #99 projected song (the Goosebumps remix), replaced with the #101 projected song (Todo de Ti). 

Going forward, with now 3 years of data, we can confirm that Billboard will cutoff their year end on the chart date 3 weeks before they publish the year end, which will be on the first Thursday/Friday of December. The next 53-week year will very likely be 2024.

Man did drivers license crash so hard if it didn’t make the Top 5 despite its hot start and having the entire year to build its stats, and got outsold by PTD and FL, who only had about a third of the time to build its stats.

Also *CHART RECORD* with this year Brenda Lee breaks a couple records, for longest gap between year ends (previous appearance was "Coming On Strong in 1966) and for longest timespan from first to last year end hit (1960 to 2021, breaking Paul McCartney's record of 1964 to 2015 by 10 years!)

I'm pretty sure she also has the title of oldest person to ever make the year end list at time of list or, if we're going by age at the time of recording, actually the YOUNGEST act to hit the year end list in 20 years (believe it or not she was just 13 when she recorded her christmas classic)
