At least a ton of women in country got their well-deserved dues. Maybe now Nashville will play them more. Bro country is dying out. Who knows? Maybe this wave of talented women can define the next era of country.

Sorry to ask, but in the main thread page, I have this image that's overlaid a couple times over the discussion thread topics. In the thread themselves, it appears as background image. Am I the only seeing this?

Surprised Morgan Wallen didn't get a Best New Artist nom. He's been a streaming monster and one of the biggest country stars in a year where country has surged on the charts. Also, LUKE COMBS GOT COMPLETELY SHUT OUT? Yeah, this round of Grammy's nominations was not particularly kind to male country artists, for better or worse Pretty sure Eric Church was the only big male solo act to get nominated for anything, for Stick That In Your Country Song in the Best Solo Performance category.Β Most of the nominations had a disconnect from popularity this year it felt like, honestly it may be a good thing. Especially in the rap categories, the biggest album there was Kingβs Disease and even at that the general public probably could not recognize that album. It will at least be interesting seeing the Grammy boosts this year.

Not sure how much power the Grammy's hold to push critically acclaimed, but less successful radio artists to chart success at this point. Kacey Musgraves made bank last year and all it got her was one song (Rainbow) breaking through on the Hot 100 for a single week and nothing else. Which is a shame because that album and that song were both fantastic.

Yeah the disconnect from the general charts is interesting in a year where the charts have felt more and more disconnected from whatβs actually popular. The point made about Kacey Musgraves is valid though, and I donβt expect to see a Black Pumas album bomb anytime soon, but a chart-watcher can dream, right? Regarding the Grammies, theyβve been disconnected from the general public for a while now; at least they might shine a spotlight on some less popular artists, but no one can tell me BeyoncΓ© was the artist with the largest cultural impact in 2020.

Maybe this wave of talented women can define the next era of country. I would not have any problem with that, as most of the new female blood breaking through in mainstream country has been generally really good, in 2020 especially. Hopefully artists like Maren, Ingrid, Ashley McBryde, Mickey Guyton, and Maddie and Tae (among others) can continue to keep pushing the genre forward in the coming years. After the barren wasteland that has been chart success for women in country the last few years, it's nice to see the balance shifting back towards some sort of equilibrium

Slightly different color scheme, but it appears the image is gone and Pulse looks like a normal forum again.

congrats to The Weeknd for ALL of those wonderful Grammy noms π So biggest song of the year, top 5 biggest album of the year and critical acclaim all across the board for both Blinding Lights and After Hours respectively means no nominations compared to Justin Bieber, who has Yummy, i repeat YUMMY on the nominations list...

This color scheme is too damn bright feel like I'm reading a Wikipedia article profile>settings>look for forum theme drop down menu and select the v5 dark. It's the least offensive to the eyeballs.

As far as the charts this week, I think a lot of people are going to be irritated because it's very likely that BTS is going to be #1 and #2 this next week. Since mid Oct. there has been a Dynamite CD for sale with all 8 remixes, the original and instrumental version of Dynamite. They all shipped out the same time as Be and the Life Goes On vinyl (restocked after selling out then sold out again) and cassettes. Army has been raising a lot of money to help US fans who don't have the money buy all of the singles of the album as individual songs so they count for Hot 100. There is even a possibility of Dynamite blocking Life Goes On. Might want to prepare yourselves in advance. I'm not sure if not completing digital album in order to try to album bomb BE is impacting album sales or not. I'm not really too informed on how that works to be honest.

I agree. When Therefore I Am went to #2, I knew for sure Life Goes On had the #1 in the bag. Not only will BTS have #1 and #2, I think they will also scrape the bottom of the Top 10 with Stay/Blue & Grey.
