All but two put Martina in their top 20! Wow.
edit: Oh, and that makes perfect timing for a new page!

King George! That was a fun one. A really solid top 5.

I suppose now is a good time to point out that George Strait's Extras rankdown is open for submissions right now, for a couple more days! If you want to rank such #1 hits as "Check Yes Or No", "I Hate Everything", "The Best Day", and "I Know She Still Loves Me", as well as fan favorites like "Murder On Music Row" and "Kicked Outta Country", you should jump on in!!!! It's the final piece of his album series!

Lol at me missing the whole top 10 just to show up right when the winner is revealed. The biggest surprise for me is Brooks & Dunn making the top 5, and the Dixie Chicks missing out. I feel like those two should have swapped places. I love 'em both, of course, so I'm not disappointed to see B&D do well! But the ladies were at #4 in the first Icons rd, if I recall correctly, so that's where most of the shock comes from. Martina sneaking into the top 5 this time is more than I had hoped for her!!! I knew there was a possibility, because she made it to #6 last time and Sara and Dolly are out of the way this time. But I was not expecting the Chicks to also fall below her! People may balk at seeing Martina at #4, but there is no denying that she has the talent to justify it. I have always felt like her material is more consistent than most of her peers as well, especially her '90s output. Which I acknowledge is a personal opinion, but I like to think it factors in to why she would rank above people like Faith and Trisha and Patty. Shania being in the top 3 is a little bit of a shock as well because she didn't make it very far into the top 10 last time if I recall correctly, but there is no denying that she took the '90s by storm and completely left her mark on the country genre forever! She was a major mover and shaker in the '90s, so this placement is very deserved. Reba vs George is absolutely the way it should have been for the top 2. Seeing Shania still in with 3 reveals left had me a little worried that she was going to sneak into the top 2 over George. Lo and behold, he hung on to win this whole thing!!!! I was NOT expecting this at all! I figured George would probably have a pretty good chance of winning if we ever do an '80s Icons rd, as there is no denying his impact was greater than Reba's in that decade, but I fully expected Reba to take the '90s. It's not that George isn't deserving! It's that he and Reba are both extremely deserving, but she has the benefit of diva bias on her side Anyway, there is no denying that Reba and George are the two biggest major players of the '90s, each leading their respective gender in terms of legacy and impact. Both of them are SO iconic and important to the genre!! While Reba has a legendary personality, similar to Dolly, George's massive chart success and consistency surpasses even hers, so this victory is definitely justified.

For some reason I've always thought "Fancy" was released in the 80s. Wow, Reba really did have a truly iconic first half of the 90s with Fancy, The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia, Does He Love You, etc.
I wasn't familiar with George Strait from the 80s or even Pure Country and really got into him with the terrific Blue Clear Sky album.
