If it's alright with y'all, I'm going to keep chugging along until just before the Top 5 in which I'll take a short break! Nah, it's more like this for me

Stats for #7:
Our next song was also nothing short of a top 15 contender which would go on to spend the majority of its run inside the top 10. All but one participant ranked this within their top half with fifteen of those being inside the top 50.

Some of the rankings for some of these remaining songs have been CHOICES. Atrocious ones at that.

"Cold Day in July" was released in May 2000 as the fourth single from The Chicks' second album Fly where it peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song was actually first recorded two artists in 1992, Suzy Bogguss on her album Voices in the Wind, and Joy Lynn White on her debut album. White's version was released as a single in 1993 where it peaked at #71 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This was pretty much a lock to finish inside the top 10 as it spent the majority of its run inside of that. It would amass fourteen top 40 rankings with nine of those all being within the top 25. Of those, ClevelandRox is the only one to lose a top 5 while both someguy and LBTrocks lose a top 10.

"It Must Be Love" is a fantastic song. I'm a huge Don Williams fan but I love Alan Jackson's a lot too!! "Prayin' For Daylight' is easily one of RF's best songs. Such a jam! Love "Carlene" and am glad it did so well here! I adore Phil Vassar. "We Danced' is gorgeous... really love the instrumentation and vocal arrangement! bboat11 is gonna kill me but "Love's The Only House" has never been one of my fav Martina songs once it's out, I will love everything remaining lol. EDIT: Wow I'm behind

Umm, yours for "Smoke Rings in the Dark" says hello The ranking isn’t atrocious if the song is atrocious 😉 "Smoke Rings In The Dark" is hands down one of his best IMO! The melody is breathtaking and so is the instrumentation, god I love that beat paired with the fiddle and the vocal arrangement in the chorus lol I legit can't rant enough about how great of a song it is to me!

Stats for #6:
Leaving us next is a song that spent much of its early run in the top 10. It unfortunately left that position in the last half as it was never quite able to recover from a lone bottom 10 ranking.
Best rankdown position: 3 Worst rankdown position: 11 Average: 23.41 SD Rank: 58th Highest

With my #1 gone, how about getting my #119 out of here. Massively overstaying its welcome..... And a rather questionable one at that...

And in a weaker year it would have been a bit higher. The chorus is nice.

Oh, and I'm thrilled "Big Deal" did so well because that song is such a jam I can't handle it! SO much fun to sing and dance to!!
Also idk if I commented on it but also thrilled that "What About Now" did so well- def one of Lonestar's best, just such a gorgeous song and there's something so euphoric about the lyrics too.
"Cold Day In July" 100% deserved a spot in the top 10. That. Melody. Is. So. Exquisite.

"What Do You Say" was released in September 1999 as the first single from Reba McEntire's twenty-fifth studio album So Good Together and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This had spent much of its early run inside the top 5 and even managed to make it back into the top 3 in the middle of its run. That was before a lone bottom 10 ranking from gardyfan pushed this one a bit further back into the top 10 where it was just never quite able to recover from. Even still, eleven participants all ranked this within their top 15 with someguy placing it as his #2 song. And for what it's worth, this only missed the top 5 by a mere seven points.

Despite this one being rather overplayed, I still have yet to ever tire of it as it still sounds just as good today as it did back then. I mean, I never actively seek it out on my own, but I still love hearing it come on the radio.

As a song I honestly find "What Do You Say" to be a tad inferior to most of her other #1s... But that music video is everything! It gives the song a sense of story and continuity from verse to verse that isn't there if you just take the lyrics at face value.

I almost if not always find myself choking up when she gets to the line She looks at him and says I want to go home...gets me in the feels each and every time

Thrilled to see my Terri prediction coming true, at least inasmuch as her being able to make the top 5!!!! I'd love to see her hang on a couple more positions, but either way she has done VERY well considering this was a bit of an 'off' era for her!

This top 5 is stellar... "A Little Gasoline" is lower than the rest for me but I still love it.

Yea, it kind of was which is unfortunate because it's a solid album. Speaking of, I can't wait to revisit that one in her album series!
