Younger listeners may not realize that Kermit (who was one of this week's celebrity interviews) is an at40 chart veteran. Back in 1979 Kermit hit #25 with "Rainbow Connection". in addition: Ernie of the famous duo of Ernie and Bert hit number 16 fifty years ago with "Rubber Duckie". Thinking Baby Shark had a legitimate shot to hit at40 if it was released in the  70's.

Thoughts for the week


1. If Lil Nas X 's Holiday hits the chart, which it will, it will join other at40 artists such as Madonna, Green Day and The other ones that also had hits with that title

2. M.I.A. went M.I.A. on the chart this week.

3. "Hate the way" a rare one and done song barring a comeback.

4. Current top40 is at 2 hours and 6 minutes on itunes . 19 songs clock in under 3 minutes. Drake's hit is the only song clocking in over 4 minutes.

5. Almost half the songs this week feature at least one additional artist

6. Over 1200 people view this site every week yet only a handful ever comment.

Ryan mentioned that there is one more week before they count down the top 40 of the year. So after next week, the year-end countdown will air the weekends of 12/26 and 1/2, with regular countdowns resuming the weekend of 1/9.
