Thinking he'll get another #1 out of this BUT I definitely think he needs to go with the duet with FGL for his next single. I've realized all of his singles are pretty much love songs at their core and he would benefit from a change of pace for his new singles. Obviously the formula has been working but I can tell from this songs reaction, streams, sales and overall impact, the formula might be getting a little tired and needs a slight change lol.

It's possible they go with another song from the album, since they went 3-deep on his first record, but I personally think his best bet at maintaining some hype and momentum would be to go with brand new music for his next release.

I got a RadioTracks survey today with 2 songs from him. Neither was that good and I don't know the names since it didn't say at the end. Not sure if they're on his last album or new.

I got the same survey. They were “She Likes It” (new song) and “Forever For A Little While” (on his current record).

“Forever For A Little While” is excellent so hopefully they go with that!

Even though I don't like the song at all they probably should go with "She Likes It" since it has more buzz (just debuted on the Hot Country Song chart this week).
That being said I am curious how high this can get as it is at #12 on Mediabase and #14 on Billboard so I have to think the label is at least aiming for a Top 10 peak for this one.

Definitely his lowest impacting single and wondering where it’ll end up peaking. His formula is getting stale and time to freshen it up.

Slightly hoping they go ahead and drop this one, it's taking up space on the chart and has been out for a while now.

I quite like this one and will be a little bummed to see it snap his streak of #1s, but it's beyond time to just move on imo. There's no way this is going #1 at the rate its going, and keeping it spinning its wheels in the mid-teens isn't doing anything more for him than it already has.

I do think the label should try for a Mediabase Top 10 since it's not too far off to achieve it ("Home Sweet" will be at #12 or #11 on Mediabase tomorrow dependent upon if Chris Stapleton falls below) but once that is hopefully achieved then they should drop it asap imo.

Agree that’s the logical thing to do. I think it could actually get there next week given how quick “You Should Probably Leave” & “Freedom Was a Highway” is dropping.

His Tiktok hit, She Likes It (collab with Jake Scott), entered Bubbling Under Hot 100 at #24.

I think this might have peaked at 10 being his first single not to hit the summit. Thankfully it’s looking like he has a viral song right on time lol

Hoping that "She Likes It" is released as the next single. Didn't really like it on first listen, but it's been growing on me ever since. Almost feel as though the song could be released to CHR potentially as well, producing Russell's first crossover hit.
Of course, I'm not gonna complain if this decides it just wants to linger around on the charts, but I think now would be a good time for the label to shift full focus towards a new single.
