I saw laroi in the blueberry faygo video and he 1000% looked like my frat bro polo shirt wearing lowkey homophobic & racist republican cousin who once told me obama lost the popular vote to romney. its not laroi's fault but every time i see his face i just get angry "so done" & "reminds me of you" are good but wow I cant fucking STAND that Fuck Love album cover. He's trying to look mischevious and devilish and he just looks like a 5th grader on Halloween

I was suprised he's still dissing MGK lmao. He's compensating lack of theme/substance by name dropping & sneak disses (since it's inception - KAMIKAZE); btw why would he stop dissing mgk, that beef basically made him relevant again, till then everyone thought he'd gone soft π¬ Are you new to hip-hop ? Do you know how many years after their beef Jay & Nas kept shooting at eachoter ? 50-Cent till this day clowns Ja Rule. Drake & Pusha have been subliminally dissing in couple of songs, and their beeef is couple of months before Em & MGK. And in the same fuΡking album Eminem name drops ICP & Ja Rule. Beefs from early 00s.
.... so idk Regarding Eminem name dropping celebrities, that has been his m.o. since the beginning. If you have listened to his early albums you would know. You have it on every album, nothing new. *sigh* Eminem's yet another name that HHT and Hip-Hop YouTubers (minus DEHH) will overhype to no end along with J. Cole and Modern Kanye At this point with how many bad projects he has, Eminem is not a GOAT. He's still a legend with how influential his first three projects are but I can't in good faith call him one of the best The first part of the opening sentence is 100% wrong lmao. But the second part is 100% true. Twitter does not like him one bit. But youtubers on the other hand love him because so many have made careers thanks to reacting to his songs. idk why Eminem reaction videos get so much more traction than reaction videos by other artists, but it doesn't matter. the fact is reactors want a piece of that pie and some kiss his Π°ss quite a lot. But about twitter you are worng, reddit (r/hhh) is mixed sometimes he gets hate, sometimes it is neutral. The new album threads are always 90%+ positive, but the first impressions (1 day) or after a week are more realistic. Its like 50/50. you have stans who praise him to the point it is annoying, and haters that think he hasn't put out a good song in 15 years. With a few realistic coments here and there. That is social media breakdown, i can do this for some other hip-hop artists lol. Also based on reception the only bad project is Revival all others have had either neutral or positive reception. His current album (original MTBMB) has had quite positive reception among hip-hop fans (not the stans). By positive i mean 60-70%. He hasn't recieved 90%+ possitove reactions (Classic) with his last releases, that is for sure. Regarding the GOAT i will say it is subjective, and who am i to judge in the end (i may have listened to all the popular hip-hop classics, but there are so so many more not so popular great hip-hop albums so my judgement won't be ideal, maybe there is a kid in downtown Atlanta that can outrap everyone rn). I will say this: if someone wasn't a fan until now don't expect to become a fan from his 15th projcet or sth. If you didn't like him in the prime, you won't like him now. He makes music that he likes, for the love for hip-hop and the fans (secondary ). So if someone isn't a fan why even listen to his next album. You aren't gonna like it anyways.

He makes music that he likes, for the love for hip-hop and the fans (secondary ). So if someone isn't a fan why even listen to his next album. You aren't gonna like it anyways. You bring up some very good points. I didn't really know about the stats about other hip-hop websites, I just assumed since the few Hip-Hop accounts I see on Twitter rarely call out bad hip-hop (unless it's universally hated or it's Cardi B for some reason), they'd fall in line and blindly praise yet another Eminem project. I think with YouTube though, it's a matter of Eminem's technical ability eclipsing any of his content. As tiresome as it may be, the speed is sometimes enough for some people and no matter how empty the bars are, people are attracted to someone who can rap fast. Although I will disagree with the "why even listen to their albums if you don't like them". I think while I'm not going to be excited for an Eminem album the same way as other people are, I am still open to artists I don't really like making good music. While everyone has their own expectations for projects, even low ones, I'm always keen to be surprised by an artist I don't like. For ex: I wasn't a Lil Uzi fan going into this year and still aren't but I'll still say Eternal Atake was one of the best mainstream releases this year. And since I'm not boycotting Eminem the same way I do a Kanye and since he is still talented on a base-level, I think there's still potential to make a good album. It's like with a director you don't like occasionally making a good movie. I'll also slightly disagree with the whole other rappers take potshots at others because in the case of Eminem it's a bit different. With people like Jay-Z-Nas or Drake-Pusha T, we can say their feud is done but until they actually make amends like Jay and Nas did, it's normal for artists to take shots at people they don't like. Whenever Eminem takes shots at people though, it's never out of a genuine dislike of the people, it was always more out of a joke. Like I really don't think Eminem hates ICP or Ja Rule the same way Drake and Pusha do, which is why the disses feel more like cheap callbacks than actual takedowns. And besides, I thought the point of disses was to be as brutal and hard-hitting as possible; is anyone really surprised Ja Rule or ICP are the butt of jokes IN 2020?

Funny that the wikipedia page of The Kid Laroi highlights that he's a rapper when Without You (his breakthrough hit) is basically an acoustic pop punk song.

Eh, I kinda wish we could have left Eminem back in the early 2010s, but to be honest he's not being spammed by radio or anything. He drops, he has a couple of songs charting well for a couple weeks and he goes back into his mansion, so it's fine. Funny that the wikipedia page of The Kid Laroi highlights that he's a rapper when Without You (his breakthrough hit) is basically an acoustic pop punk song. That's the same itch I get when they mention Doja as part of some female rap renaissance when her two top 40 hits are (very good) pop songs.

^To be fair, the last two big Eminem singles, Lucky You and Godzilla, were the best songs off of those respective albums. I guess you could argue the same for the Revival era with River, but that's not saying much given how atrocious that album was (and Walk On Water was far better anyway, it deserved to be a hit more).
Speaking of which, Em's deluxe tracks aren't doing great on AM currently. The highest one is Gnat at #56, which is well below the highest new song Take It To Trial (Young Thug & Gunna, a.k.a. Young Stoner Life) at #25.

Kid Laroi sounds like a Tiktok parody of Juice WRLD & Post Malone. Absolutely terrible. How did we go from Billie Eilish to this?
