Name one artist who has had only moderate radio success for just about 10 years straight and continues to chart with every single. You legitimately can't. Even in the days before her career picked back up (and was likely nearly dropped from UMG along with Scotty), every single one of her singles ever has charted. Only one has missed the top 40 on MB. Radio has not simultaneously given the cold shoulder to and a warm welcome to anyone like they have Lauren Alaina. It's so weird. I am not finding any reason to throw in the towel on this one by any means, but it's certainly looking a lot like "Getting Good" did about this far into the chart run. Two, both "Next Boyfriend" and "Barefoot and Buckwild" missed the Top 40 on Mediabase We purposefully don’t talk about “Barefoot and Buckwild”.

I wonder if the cancelled tour is affecting this? It’s also not hugely connecting on other metrics either. I really haven’t been able to understand her career and confused as to where she goes if this doesn’t become a bit (which is looking unlikely). Radio seems to want to see her succeed but can’t seem to get a real hit yet her songs definitely impact for tv appearances (she got a pretty nice song and album bump from her recent movie) and has other things going on like her book and other opportunities but this whole radio aspect of things is really frustrating and holding her back from getting to the next level. Honestly, I thought she’d have a crossover hit by now with her kind of voice or a real break of some sort to make a mainstream name.

I agree that radio wants to see her succeed but holds her back at the same time. Getting Over Him isn't my favorite of hers but really it as as good or better then a lot of the hits on todays radio. I think her team has to take some of the blame. They lined up no big appearances for her release week. She had the Movie which was a great boost but really not any TV appearances. By most standards except radio she is a star. She streams as well or better then most country females. Her shows are great and when she does a TV slot she always gets a huge boost. Would love to see Good Ole Boy next and What do you think of last as a cross over potential.

This should've been a hit already but we have a song like "Fancy Like" being a hit over this! I've always loved this song.

Okay, I worship Lauren Alaina more than most here but "Fancy Like" deserves to be a hit much more than this one since it has connected so well with the general public on so many levels. I get "Fancy Like" isn't the most country sounding song but it absolutely deserves to be a hit.

If this don’t hit there’s not much more she can do to try to cater to radio. The only thing she hasn’t tried is releasing a straight up ballad like “Three.”

This is creeping along and has a nice bullet on MB. Top 20 is not out of question here. Would be nice to see any sort of hit come out of this.

Enters the Mediabase Top 30 at #29 this week with a bullet of 110, which while not bad I don't expect the bullet to get better since a lot of it's spins gained this week were on the Monday update.
Now I still the odds are against the Top 20 since it has had such a hassle just getting into the Top 30 (this has been promoted for 9 months) and it has to probably double it's spin total and probably triple it's audience to get into the Top 20 and this song hasn't had a truly great week ever on either chart.
That being said I am happy this has made the Top 30 as it does keep Lauren Alaina's name in the country sphere, and while I doubt this makes the Top 20 I do think the label will hold on to it until it has completely stalled out and it doesn't appear to be completely stalling out yet.

Getting into the Top 30 means that it’ll be on a countdown show, correct? If so, that will be a good thing.
I also hope that somehow Jon Pardi’s team and label will push forth their support to this when Tequila Little Time peaks. It could be beneficial for Jon to have this collab rise up on the charts while he works on new music but getting them to actually support it is just wishful thinking.

It'll be on Country Countdown USA not this time next week but the week after. Luckily CCUSA always gives a pretty solid boost into a song.

This song came so close to the top 30 multiple times already so I'm glad it's finally moving into the top 30. I'm not sure if her team is willing to push past the freeze considering it's burnt through a good amount of weeks, but it would at least be great if it can surpass the peak of "Doin' Fine" to become her second highest-peaking song as a lead artist (going off BB peaks).

They are gonna have to hold on past the freeze since "Doin Fine" peak on MB was #24 and on Billboard it was #27 so it has a way to go on both charts to achieve that.

I reallly really hope this song can at least go top 20. I could see this song going top 20 and achieving gold status if they really played their cards right.
On a completely off topic note and hope this doesn’t come across as wierd but, I wonder how marriage and having kids would affect an artist like Lauren career wise. I’ve always noticed country artists write and create amazing music during marriage, kids and breakups and they always seem to get a lot of press and attention during those times. I wonder if Lauren would be an artist who all of a sudden becomes THAT much more relatable to the GP when that time in her life comes (we know how break ups have gone for her lol). Just a thought I’ve been having considering I’ve felt like she should be way further in her career at this point.

"Doin' Fine" and "Getting Good" limped into the top 30 on country radio and went Gold, so it's perfectly possible this one eventually gets there. Right now, I'm just hoping this can reach at least #26 on BB so it at least can be considered her second-biggest hit on the airplay chart, lmao.

I'm being hopeful and optimistic about this one. It appears to be doing decently at the moment; and its not entirely too old either, especially considering it took Getting Good about an entire year to reach the same spot as this one, while it only took this one about nine months.
Hopefully it can get going good when Jon's song peaks, and radio will only have this one to focus on. I for sure think that the next single after this should be "Good Ole Boy."

Yeah "Getting Over Him" is finally starting to some gain traction as Lauren Alaina has gained 255 spins and a little over 1300k in audience the past 3 weeks as this moves back to it's #29 peak on Mediabase and actually managed to re-pass Luke Bryan's "Up" this week.

Good. So, so good. There is absolutely no reason this song shouldn't be gaining traction on radio. It sounds amazing when it comes on. It would be really nice to see this...actually, maybe, go somewhere beyond #27.

I wish for once she'd have a surefire hit right off the bat. I feel like all of her projects get completely sapped as soon as they release because all of her singles take a year to climb the charts just to peak at #28.

Plus now she’s going on her second headlining tour next year! I think 2022 could be a good year for her. I think if somehow (being super hopeful), I’d this single could be a significant hit, it bodes well for her next singles.
I also agree that Good Ole boy should be the next single. I was listening to Carly Pearce “what he didn’t do” and realized if that song can be a hit, than Good Ole boy could be as well (noting that Carly has more radio success lol)

If "Good Ole Boy" isn't her next single and an absolute smash, then idk what to think, because that song and her vocal performance on it have award-worthy written all over it. She has a KILLER voice and it's time she shows it off with a stop-you-in-your-tracks kinda tune. I'm happy to see "Getting Over Him" finally having a pulse and looking like it will at the very least become her 2nd biggest hit as a lead artist on the charts, because with the way things have been going for it as of late, I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

I do recall "Doin' Fine" showing some promising gains before suddenly dying, so I don't want to get my hopes up. But then again, I think it had spent much more time on the chart at that point than this one has... I don't know, it's been so long.

LOL when referring to any of her singles, I’m rarely cheer or get happy with forward movement cause they always doing her dirty at the most sudden moments. I’m still hopeful for this song regardless as seeing that her top 30 peak singles do commercially better than what the chart peak would indicate, imagine what a possible top 20/10 etc. (without any kind of artificial push) would do for her. I truly think that if this song can become some kind of real hit, it would change the way radio would receive her future singles.

It’s good to see the Opry selecting young members for the future. In the last five years they’ve inducted Chris Young, Chris Janson, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, Luke Combs, and now Lauren Alaina.

I really don’t know why but I really see this song doing better than we think it will and might even get solid callouts. I was kinda waiting for the freeze to end to say this (cause we know how it goes) but after today’s update, even though it’s just one, it kept me optimistic. I think after Jon Pardis single peaks, we might see this one really take off. It has most of the panel already and though I don’t see a #1 in this songs future, I could ultimately see a top 10/15 peak and moving the radio needle for her a bit. I wonder what Ray thinks.
